Oh, bad guys behind bad guys! Tsubasa unmasked! And what's going on with Arisa at the hospital in the meantime? The plot of this series seems to be getting more and more muddled, and...well, silly. But it's still a lot of fun, so I'm just going to keep on reading it!
Tsubasa witnesses an unexpected murder, while Kudo falls down. Now she has to choose between Kudo and the rest of her classmates. While thinking he was doing the good thing, Kudo reveals Tsubasa's actual identity to the class of 2-B in which they are outraged at. Pretending to be Arisa has come to a end....... for the time being. The King trapps her in a basement where Kudo goes and tries to kill her, but only ended up letting her escape. Tsubasa runs to the hospital to find Arisa, who then opens her eyes. OH MY GOD MOMENT! THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!! It looks like the bond between twins are stronger than we thought. But why now?
My emotions: When Tusubasa witnesses the murder: 😱 who the f**k did that?????????????????????? When Kudo falls down and says "I did this for Arisa" 😲😲😲😲😲😲 Identity revealed: 😩😩😩😩😰😰😰😱😱😱😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Trapped in basement: NOOOOOO😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😱😱😱 When she escapes the basement/death😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😜😜😜😜😜😜😜 So long suckers :) Arisa awakens: 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇 thank god
I am not quite sure why the students in this school thing the way they do. Some of the story just isn't making any sense I'm my head..but I am curious to see what happens. I hope things start to make sense soon.
What on Earth are the King's motivations supposed to be?! It made sense if it was K ["K" as in "King"!], but it's M?! Ando keeps going back and forth...What does M get out of this?! It's totally inexplicable, almost nonsensical.

Not my hopes of not going into the tired-ass trope of having your boyfriend be the mastermind/killer get crushed with one chapter, I mean c'mon. Midori could have been the one sane character in this entire series but yolo I guess!!!
I miss Takeru, where did he go lol

Gila sih gue kesel banget sama si Midori. Dia ini muka dua dan emang gilaaaa!!!

Tsubasa worries about the King hurting Midori and is faced with a choice: going after an injured Midori or getting her classmates out of a trap.
Uuuugh, I can't believe there are four more volumes of this to go.
At the moment, my theory is that Midori found out some dirt on Arisa and got her to allow him to use King Time for his own amusement, or maybe he just found out her password and began pretending to be the King without her permission. It would understandably have shocked her that someone who was so close to her would abuse her trust like that.
Tsubasa is an idiot. If Mariko, Akira, Rei, and Shizuka all aren't the King, that literally leaves only one suspect, Midori. And yet she still trusts him. The series could be over by now, and yet...
Kudo?! He was the one that set the fire and killed the man?! I can't believe it because he seemed sketchy, but I didn't think that he would do something like that. The class is panicking and no one is sure what to do. They all agree to hide the body and to keep this whole incident as a big secret because they would be in big trouble if they told others. They were all concerned about not getting to school, how their parents would kill them for being involved, etc. After agreeing that they would keep this as a class secret, they asked the King for help in order to try to fix the problem. The King was magically able to help fix the problem and make it seem as if nothing ever happened there.
Tsubasa confused, further investigates the situation with Manabe. They begin to read the conversations that Arisa had with "K" and is seems as if Kudo really is the one who has been hurting everyone; it really makes him sound like he has the motivation to be the King. Tsubasa was able to force a classmate to tell her what was going on but it only confused her even more. Kudo runs to Arisa's hospital room and cries, but Midori stands there waiting and states that Tsubasa must be eliminated. However, King gives class 2B a hint that Tsubasa knows and they hunt her down and throw her into a room in order to keep her in there. Tsubasa was able to escape because Kudo comes to eliminate her but she is able to use self defense and gets away. When she returns to the hospital, she finds that Arisa has woken up.
FINALLY! Arisa is up and maybe somethings can be cleared up. I can't believe that Midori is King. What's the story behind that?
Arisa is a multiple layered story with mystery elements. I highly recommend starting at the beginning and reading in order.
** This review contains no spoilers for Arisa 8 but will of course have them for previous volumes. **
Tsubasa followed her one solid lead on the King, Arisa's mysterious chat partner K, only to lose all of the chosen phones she'd acquired. With four phones Kudo has declared himself the King's representative and is forcing Class 2-B to "become the best class in the world" if they want their wishes granted again. With his demented schemes taking over "Arisa" and Midori are the only voices of dissension opening volume 8...
It's incredibly impressive how Ando continues to crank up the tension as the series progresses. Answers are gradually revealing themselves, but at the cost of increased danger and unpleasant revelations and consequences. The developments here are gripping, and even in a series full of attention grabbing cliffhangers to end volumes this one stands out. Can't wait to read more.
A pleasant side note: after a couple of volumes of flashbacks and side stories to round out the volumes we're back to the entire volume being devoted to the present day plot.
One of the best volumes yet. A great accomplishment for a series that wouldn't have had enough depth to sustain such a long run if it wasn't done just right.
Thoughts and Plot Well....I saw all that coming from a mile away. How are people surprised??? Kudo turns out to be as nuts as I thought. In a panic, the class asks the King to help them clean up the crime as Tsubasa calls for help. He, of course, obliges and tells them exactly what to do! Things continue to muddle the water as Kudo invades Arisa's hospital room and cries, with Manabe hiding in the hall and declaring that Tsubasa must be eliminated...which points out just how big of an idiot he is to be sucked in by the King, he dude he has been investigating. The dude he knows in a manipulative bastard. It's Kudo who actually catches up to Tsubasa, and with the help of class 2B they throw her in a basement room and lock her in there. Tsubasa manages to escape gets back to the hospital and finds that Arisa is finally awake!
Library Status Just arrived!
In Conclusion I saw it all coming, but it still was a pretty good read.
Series Rating: 3.5Stars (first few volumes are 4 Stars)
I read this series in one sitting, which is quite telling in itself. However I will say now that the story does lag a bit after a few volumes and loses something of the great set up it had at the beginning. That said, the author Natsumi Ando is good at ending chapters/volumes with cliff-hangers. So you get to the end of one book and immediately want to pick up the next one. (Case in point – me.)
The art is excellent and was part of the reason I decided to pick this series up. As much as story is important if you don’t like that images it’s a struggle to continue but for this genre (shojo) Natsumi Ando style fits beautifully.
Tsubasa is likable and determined to find out what happened to her sister. As reader it was easy to be on her side. This series requires suspension of disbelief to some extent but you’ll enjoy Arisa more for it.
Honestly, this story is getting a little crazy. I'm all for manga taking some things to the extreme - as in, "Come on! This would never go down." But, this one.. Wow. Only in Japanese drama will a bunch of high school kids act this way. And I will also end up reading the next volume of this series, just to see if the author decides to fix the newest problem with a reasonable approach, or goes all-out again. *(Spoiler Alert)* Now that Tsubasa's identity is out, and Arisa comes out of the coma on the last page, things could get even messier.
Oh my gawd! That criminal is dead. O_O *gasps* and they freaking hid the body. WTF! I'm confused. So maybe Kudouis the King but Midori is like uhm.. who uh, yeah! Whatever. I dont wanna guess anymore. -.- lol
Omg omg! Arisa opened her eyes! She did?! Didnt she?! Oh my gosh! What's gonna happen now?

Hello there! I welcome this volume's return to the properly melodramatic, I was really disappointed when it looked like the last volume was solving the King mystery in the most predictable boring fashion possible. Bring on the amnesia plot, I'm ready. 3.5 stars
