When Sarah Palin says it, all of America hears it. In the few years since Americans met Sarah Palin, her every word has been chronicled, analyzed, celebrated, and yes, infamously disparaged. Regardless of your party affiliation, it's impossible to deny her influence on American politics and the dialogue her ideas have generated. Author Matt Lewis has gathered some of Palin's most memorable remarks, reminding us that whether you consider her a rogue or a patriot, her words reveal a genuine love for America. Endorsements : If you learned everything you knew about American politics from Matt Lewis, you'd be in pretty good shape. I should know, since I practically do. ―Tucker Carlson, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Caller Matt Lewis is a conservative provocateur and has an easy way of making complicated issues understandable and leaving the DC jargon off the table. Matt's projects always make you think, reflect and act. ―Governor Rick Perry, 47 th Governor of Texas Sarah Palin is one of the most important conservative leaders in America -- and Matt Lewis is one of my favorite writers. Every conservative ought to have a copy of the Quotable Rogue in their personal library -- if for no other reason than to refute the distortions and lies constantly hurled at Palin by her detractors. ―Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State, senior fellow at the Family Research Council For all the accolades heaped on Mr. Obama for his soaring rhetoric and brilliant, professorial oratory, it's hard to deny that Sarah Palin is one of the most quotable leaders of the 21st century. The Quotable Rogue brings that into stunning clarity. And it's not because she's controversial -- it's because she's usually just right. ―S.E. Cupp, political columnist and culture critic, author of Losing Our The Liberal Media’s Attack on Christianity As you'll see in Matt's book, the reason for Sarah Palin's popularity is that she speaks in a blunt fashion and exposes truths that the politically correct job-protecting elites are fearful of. She is a far wiser woman than Katie Couric. ―Andrew Breitbart, Breitbart.com, author of Righteous Indignation Sarah Palin drives the left crazy and makes many of the Republicans who collaborated with Democrats to destroy our fiscal wellbeing duck and cover. Matt Lewis captures, through Sarah Palin's own words, her wit, wisdom, and basic sense that America remains the last best hope for mankind. ―Erick Erickson, Editor-in-Chief of RedState.com Steadfast in her beliefs and fearless in her demeanor, Sarah Palin has become a leading voice in today’s conservative movement and has inspired a new generation of activists. This book of quotes captures the independent spirit of Palin and is a great resource for all of us who are ‘going rogue’ alongside her. ―Teri Christoph, co-founder, Smart Girl Politics A book like this one is absolutely essential in a world where the media refuses to quote Gov. Palin without liberal doses of snark, vitriol, and hyperbole. It's refreshing to see straight quotes in print so that readers can make up their own minds. ―Adam Brickley, founder, "Draft Sarah Palin for Vice President"
And this would be the reason why I am severing all contact with the book review site Booksneeze.com. It wasn't their fault that the first book I received from them was heavily plagiarized. The second book was all right. But when I saw this ... thing on the site, I wrote requiring my profile be deleted. It's supposed to be a site that promotes Christian books. If this Palin creature is something to be held up as Christian, then hi - I'm a republ - No. I can't even type that in jest.
I have Goodreads friends who are atheists. (*waves*) I sincerely believe it is creatures like this that contribute to their extremely low opinion of those who really do deserve the descriptor "Christian".
Dictionary.com definition of "rogue": "1. a dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel. 2. a playfully mischievous person; scamp". As Lt. Uhura once said, "Sorry - neither." And as for "quotable"? Since when does dropping g's and spouting nonsense make one quotable?
I was so much happier when I didn't know this ... book existed.
This is basically a collection of quotations from Sarah Palin, with the stated purpose of letting readers judge her ideas and coherence for themselves, without the misquoting, the paraphrasing, and even the SNL gibes with which she's been associated.
I guess I get that. If you are someone who thinks Sarah Palin has been consistently underestimated or not given a fair shake by the mainstream media, this book makes sense. However, it's really hard for me to feel justified in giving this book more than a couple of stars, because -- well, it IS just a book of quotations, culled from public sources. And yes, they're loosely grouped by subject matter; I guess maybe that took some effort, but in the end, I think a little more substance was in order. Some of the quotations are just a phrase or a sentence -- hardly something that solves the problem of decontextualized statements. I just don't know that the reprinting of some sound bites can give us much insight into who Sarah Palin really is, or what her positions really are.
All that being said, the book wasn't entirely unenlightening. I had expected, frankly, to find many more things to make fun of than I did -- though that may well be attributable to the stated purpose of the book. After all, if he's trying to redeem her credibility, doesn't he have a reason to skip over any hints of ignorance, and focus on the most coherent of her speeches? I was amused, however, that he quotes her on two separate occasions as saying something like, "I'm not one to attribute every action of man to climate change." She clearly means the reverse -- that she doesn't believe all climate change can be attributed to man-made causes -- but to mix that up on multiple occasions suggests to me that maybe she doesn't have a clear idea of what the word "attribute" means. On the whole, though, she comes across in this book as fairly reasonable, not the backwards airhead she sometimes seemed to be. So to some small extent, the book is successful at what it wants to do -- but doesn't it say something that we need a whole book of carefully selected quotations to accomplish the fairly mild goal of making Sarah Palin sound not entirely absurd?

Why so many are opposed to Sarah Palin is beyond me. She's a strong woman with moral convictions and speaks her mind. Her voice echoes many of the strong women of today. This book captures her words from various interviews, speaking engagements and other events.
It's a short book but a fascinating read. I gained a greater insight into her political positions on faith, family, culture, war, and her deep love for Alaska, her home state and this Country. The book is arranged by topic making it a great reference book for her supporters or her party.
If you want to learn more about Sarah Palin, there is no better way than to read this book. Her positions are clear and straight forward. It's a short read and a great collection of quotes from a female political powerhouse.

Being a conservative Republican, as well as a mom, Sarah Palin really caught my attention when she was chosen as the Republican vice-presidential nominee back in 2008. She was a very straight forward tell-it-like-it-is speaker. I found her manner to be very refreshing. Mrs. Palin has been quoted and misquoted innumerable times over the last few years. Mr. Matt Lewis has sifted through numerous sources for quotes that show Mrs. Palin's views on thirty-two different topics including abortion, President Barak Obama, civil rights, economics, health care, the environment, immigration reform, the war in Iraq, taxes, national security and terrorism, the GOP, the Tea Party Movement, and a number of more personal things like family, faith, Tina Fey, running for office, and just being Sarah. The final chapter is full of quotes of what others have said about Mrs. Palin.
The quotes are well-organized and well-documented. After reading this book, I believe that I understand her politics, her values, and her beliefs much better. I wish that a book like this were available for every political candidate prior to elections. Of all the quotes, I still like the one from her Republican National Convention speech in Minneapolis on September 3, 2008 the best. I think a lot of moms, not just hockey moms, can relate when we think about defending our children.
"The difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."
I consider this to be a thought provoking book that should be read by liberals and conservatives alike. I give it four stars.

The Quotable Rogue, The Ideals of Sarah Palin in Her Own Words has quotes by Sarah Palin beginning in 2005 and ending in 2010. The book was published in 2011. It is edited by Matt Lewis. A foreword by Matt Lewis and praises about the book from people such as Tucker Carlson, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Daily Caller; Ken Blackwell, Former Ohio Secretary of State, Senior Fellow at the Family Research Council and Governor Rick Perry, 47 th governor of Texas and 4 other people. The quotes come from a number of interviews Sarah Palin had with FOX, CNN, Peoria Journal, Associated Press, Larry King Live, Newsmax.com, The Tonight Show, On The Record With Greta Van Susteren and many, many more. Some topics are: On living in Alaska, On Barack Obama, On Being Sarah, On Faith, On Family, On Gun Control, On The Media, On Tina Fey and On Taxes to name a few. There are 32 chapters and the quotes are dated and most short. Some short quotes taken by random: "I was raised in a family where gender was not going to be an issue. The girls did what the boys did. Apparently in Alaska that's quite commonplace" from chapter on Living in Alaska and from Times (U.K.), August 31, 20008; "In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change" from Republication National Convention in Minneapolis, September 3, 2008 from chapter On John McCain and also "Americans get it. In Washington, they don't get it" from Orlando Sentinel, March 12,2010 On Washington chapter. The last chapter is " What Others Say About Sarah Palin" with remarks from Carly Fiorina, Nikki Haley, James Carville, Sean Parnell and many others. A good read and a good insight into Sarah Palin. I hope liberals will give it a change with an open mind to read what she has to say. No one agrees totally with what someone has to say, but is helps to know the person and how they feel about many topics such as America, Family and Home. I am not a political person. I tend to be in the middle of either side. There are things about one side I don’t like, but do whether it be democrat or republican. It makes things rather difficult in my head. But, we are not going to get into a political chit-chat about that. I think Sarah Palin, as a person, intrigued me. Here was this strong woman from Alaska. I mean, Alaska! How many people do you know up there who ice fishes? Not only that, but guts, cleans and cooks their fish right on the lake side? Not many. She’s blunt, she’s true to herself and she’s real. Whether you believe in her views or not, whether I do or not, does not change the way I see her as a strong individual woman. The first chapter is the author speaking his views on Palin. How he started writing about her on a political blog, and followed her through the campaign. As soon as he is done, BAM! The abortion chapter rears its ugly head first. Maybe not the topic I would have started with. How about Alaska, or her background, or maybe even her love for Americans? I have problems with someone making my decisions for me. I will not force my thoughts or decisions on someone else. It’s my body, it’s my choice. Does that mean I am for abortion? No. But I am not against it in certain circumstances. I know so many people say “oh so many people out there need a baby” and all I want to say is, do you know how many children are in our foster care and adoption system that patiently wait for a home? Not many do because they don’t want to know. What I am saying though is that I do not want anyone to take my right to choose away from me. It is my life. Would I have one? I doubt it. But I can’t make the choice for someone else. So trying to read through these types of topics that are so “my way is the right way” makes me want to do nothing more than throw my Nook across the room. By the end of the chapter I realize I can’t sit here and read a book full of quotes. Nor do I care to pick apart my beliefs vs. hers or anyone else’s. Although I have to admit I was quite tickled on the chapter about living in Alaska.
The Quotable Rouge: The Ideals of Sarah Palin In Her Own Words, by Matt Lewis is a collection of the quotes of Sarah Palin as collected and compiled by Matt Lewis, Senior Contributor of The Daily Caller. As Sarah Palin has been misquoted more and more by the media on all sides, this book could not have come at a better time!
My Thoughts
I have been a fan of Sarah Palin for some while. I do not agree with every view she holds, but I have a high regard for her nevertheless as she is down to earth and obviously a very hard worker. So when the opportunity came to review this book, I jumped at the chance!
This book covers the breadeth of her political spectrum and she even has the chance to poke fun at a few people along the way...in print where no one can mistrue her words! Some of the topics that are covered are:
•Abortion •Homosexuality •Religion •Alaska •Civil Rights •Health Care •Immigration Reform •Media •Politicians •Taxes •Tina Fey •and so much more!
Few people can get the left stirred up the way Sarah Palin can! And some of her quotes will make you start laughing just becuase you know what the left was thinking when she said some of the things she did! Sarah is so down to earth and is "real" in her mannerisms. She has never tried to impress anyone and I can't see her every trying to do so in the future. She is who she is and she talks that way too...Sarah Palin is a much needed breath of truth and honesty that America and the world has missed for several generations!
Over all, this book was very enjoyable! I look forward to "Part Two" if Matt Lewis would decide to do so in the future! Bravo and five stars!

Sarah Palin…..the very sound of her name strikes terror in the minds of liberals and joy in the hearts of die hard conservatives. Ever since Palin burst onto the public scene following her selection by John McCain as his running mate for the 2008 presidential election, she has enjoyed the status as arguably the most hated conservative woman on the planet. Her outspoken positions on matters such as abortion and more recently on Obamacare have certainly made the news headlines.
Matt Lewis provides the reader with numerous quotes from Sarah Palin on a wide range of hot button issues of the day. There isn’t much to say about a book full of quotes other than a book of this type can be either dull or enlightening. I found this book to be the latter in that it helped me appreciate even more the thoughts and ideals of this champion for conservative values. Whether you love her or you disdain her, Sarah Palin is likely here to stay. So….kick back, crack open this book and dive in to what Sarah Palin has shared on various topics that are shaping our nation. I think you will find her insights and positions to be not so far out of the conservative mainstream as it painted by the 24 hour news cycle.
For those who love quotes for quotes sake, this book is for you. If you just want to learn more about what Sarah Palin thinks, this book is for you. If you are a Sarah Palin “hater” and are looking for ways to make her look foolish, I’m sure this book is for you as well. I enjoyed it as it is a quick and easy read as after all it is nothing but quotes of that incredible “Quotable Rogue.”

What does Sarah Palin think about Health Care? Does she support Immigration Reform? Matt Lewis' The Quotable Rogue: The Ideals of Sarah Palin in Her Own Words, is a book of well known and lesser known quotes made by Sarah Palin that shows readers exactly where Sarah Palin stands on issues. These quotes comes from a variety of places, including magazine interviews, television interviews, newspaper interviews, speeches, and letters.
Lewis has put together a very interesting and informative book. Many in the general public see Sarah Palin as a caricature the media has created. When some people are asked what they think of Sarah Palin their response revolves around her one liners, glasses, and accent. However, Matt Lewis opens the door to the real Sarah Palin by sharing her actual quotes.
Before reading Lewis' The Quotable Rogue I could tell you about the Sarah Palin Saturday Night Live impersonations or late night tv jokes. However, I couldn't tell you exactly what Sarah Palin stood for. What are her views on Civil Rights, Iraq, the Economy, Education, Energy, or the Environment? Matt Lewis sheds light on exactly what Sarah Palin thinks about each of those subjects and more.
In an ingenious way Lewis divides his book into section with direct quotes about 33 different issues. Whether you like Sarah Palin or not, or agree with her politics or not you no longer have an excuse not to know what Sarah Palin stands for. By reading the fast paced The Quotable Rogue you are able to find out just who Sarah Palin is.
I recommend Matt Lewis' The Quotable Rogue to every political minded American. Lewis presents a great way to learn just what Sarah Palin stands for without the slanted view of the media.
This is a book of quotes by Sarah Palin. Love her or hate her, she is going to be a part of the American Political scene for quite some time. According to the editor, Matt Lewis, the goal of the book is to set the record straight on what Sarah has and has not said. Often, quotes attributed to Sarah are actually paraphrased for comedic value rather than actual quotes.
I did enjoy the book, but did not find it a quick read or even truly an engaging one. Rather than a book to spend time just sitting and reading, this is a book that I would prefer to have on hand to read one or two things here and there, or as reference material.
The quotes in this book cover a range of approximately five years (2005 through 2010) and you can see Sarah's changing opinions in some of them. I find this refreshing - it shows that she can change and grow as her understanding of a situation changes.

This book is about the quotes taken from Sarah Palin on many different topics including everything from politics, abortion, and family. The over 400 quotes are taken from 2006 to 2010 and are very thought provoking and honest.
I wanted to review this book because I like Sarah Palin for many different reasons. She is a strong lady that can provide for her family in more ways than one. I also love the fact that she hunts and fishes. I also hunt and fish and try to provide my family strong family values.
I enjoyed reading this book, it is a fast read that had me shaking my head in agreement with many of the quotes. I especially like "don't let someone tell you to sit down and shut up." and one from her dad that said "don't retreat, just reload." She is a strong, conservative lady who makes no apologies for her beliefs and values. I enjoyed reading many of the things that she values and why. The quotes are heartfelt and true to many of the ways that I feel about what is going on today.
If you have any interest in Sarah Palin, this book is a quick, fast read that you will find enjoyable and may even find some quotes that you will remember to use yourself.

There is no one, and I mean no one that generates as much energy and as much anger in American politics as Alaska's former governor Sarah Palin. In The Quotable Rogue: The Ideals of Sarah Palin In Her Own Words Matt Lewis has collected a number of Palin's quotes on a variety of topics from her speeches and interviews over the last 5 or 6 years. He has organized them into broad 32 categories ranging from abortion to Barack Obama to Gun Control to Tina Fey. He also has a category of quotes from others about Sarah Palin...
