Nellie Steele had a good thing going with her earlier books in the series. Now she is introducing a little too much warlock and witchcraft to the books. The earlier books were a pleasure to read; now the books have a constant tension about them. The stories around Dunhaven Castle have been supplanted with adventures and "terror" in different time periods. (Miss Riley and Bailey!!)

While Cate is a very head strong and determined person; in this book, it gets amplified. It started to get me a little agitated, but I kept reading. (I almost stopped about 3/4's the way through but kept going.)

I was enjoying the series with just time travel subject but now the author has given this story a completely different route. There's way too many magical, supernatural stuff going on.
I liked Cate and Jack's team. I am not liking this all new enemies to friends to lovers trope.
I do not detest Marcus's character but in this series he is so out of place. His character in shadow slayer series is so strong that by introducing him in this series made the main character or this series weak and confused.

When Jack goes missing Cate contacts Celine and her friends to find him but she will also need Marcus to help and learn to trust him. They have to travel through different time periods and Cate will have to pose as Marcus's wife the face dangers from a group called The agency and when they do rescue Jack he is not at all well and Marcus is captured and Cate goes to rescue him. This book has alot of twists and turns.

Great plot but dialogue was weak

I thought this was An interesting novel but confusing At times. The other thing I disliked was that Cate and Marcus seemed to be growing closer. And the dialogue with Cate bordered on ridiculous. If I had to read, " You need to rest " one more time I was going to scream. The plot was good and as I have read six of the novels, I obviously like them. But please don't turn Cate in to one of those simmering females!

This is the sixth book in the Cate Kensie Mystery Series by Nellie H Steele. The story picks up where book five left off. Lady Cate Kensie discovers that her friend, time-traveling companion, and estate manager, Jack Reid, has gone missing. To complicate matters, Cate is suffering from a strange illness that affects her memory and causes temporary amnesia. Realizing she needs special help, Cate contacts her friends in America, the Shadow Slayers, to help her with her quest to find Jack and bring him home to Dunhaven Castle. The Slayers are a group of special individuals who have experience with unusual events. As the Slayers arrive at Dunhaven Castle, there is one, unexpected addition, Duke Marcus Northcott. As Cate has learned from prior encounters with the Slayers, the Duke is NOT normally an ally of the Slayers, and one could say that they are often in conflict with one another. The Duke, however, is the most experienced in dealing with this type of situation and has offered his help. Although there is suspicion of The Duke by the Slayers, he gradually forms a bond with Cate, and they develop an interdependent relationship to save Jack.
I enjoyed reading this story and found Cate to be a strong, independent protagonist. The relationship between characters was well developed and at times very surprising. The plot was suspenseful and full of tension and intrigue. Some unpredictable moments were inserted, and some readers may be left scratching their heads wondering how or why a relationship could develop into such a seemingly strong connection. The book was well-written and extremely entertaining. I would highly recommend Missing from Dunhaven Castle to everyone.

Oh my gosh!!

I've read all of these books so far, and this is my favorite series that Nellie H Steele has written (although I love several others, too).

I've just finished it and I'm so freaking excited for the next one! The storyline was so unexpected, and I pride myself on knowing what to expect and seeing things before they happen. Wow! Totally did not see that coming t the end!

Another great job, Ms. Steele! 😊

Great set up for book 7

This was not my favorite book in the series. It had two plotlines that eventually come together. The plot about Jack being kidnapped and the running around the past to try to find him was very good. Action and drama occurs at each location, and the suspense to find Jack before it is too late is intense. I liked this plotline. The second plotline involved Cate having mysterious symptoms. It took up a good portion of the book but did not seem to go anywhere. For me it slowed the pace of the book. I have since read book 7 and now I see how this second plotline feeds into the story in book 7. Book 7 by the way, was excellent.

Missing from Dunhaven Castle review

This book, Missing from Dunhaven Castle is most likely my favorite book in the series so far. I'm curious to read Cate's new adventure. In the next book. I will say, though, that knowing the characters better after reading the previous books in the series is my favorite part. Those people become real to me. I see how everything I read previously from books ahead in the series builds as they go. So amazing, Nellie

TIME TRAVELS ON…

A LOT of time travels in this particular book, many trials and tribulations, and of course, fellowships and new friendships are all targeted.
Though this book is long, it was still well thought out and needed to be extended because of the complex nature of the storyline.
Love this series!

I have to say, I loved it! But I also have to say that I hate cliffhangers! Ugh! It’s going to be so hard waiting for the next book to come out. This one was absolutely thrilling!

Interesting, with a shift in many relationships. The Agnecy mentioned in the Duchess of Blackmoor crossover is finally introduced, as well as endless other dimensions. And another cliffhanger ending.

I felt like Kate lost herself in this book. She was kind of whiny and it drove me crazy. I liked the end much better than the rest.
