Amazing read!
A must read for any Marathi-Hindutva Blind patriot of Shivaji and his scions.
I had only heard in Chhattisgarh that Marathas were hated there. This book told me why.
Rapists, murderers, marauders, hooligans, etc of the first class!
To read that even the Brahmins of those days ate non-veg made me wonder if Brahmins ever never ate Non-veg!
Finally also read about Siraj Ud daula.
To read it from the point of view of a non-hero, minor character, with all the humor and lack of respect i have been used to from Nanda kaka in person was fun.
I am lucky i have read this book before someone bans it!

Very interesting perspective towards Indian history in general and Maratha history in particular.

Bildungsroman history is something unheard of in Indian literature, thanks to Nanda Khare for this path breaking genre.

Get's a bit dull sometimes, especially the family history part, but that's allowed when you are busy subverting the paradigm.
