These Mix novels never fail to entertain me! Gotta love some middle school drama! One of the things I love about these books is that even though they're light, happy reads, that don't take long to finish, they still deal with subjects that kids/teens can relate too. Like parent issues, bullying, self confidence, friendship troubles! You name it! I really liked this installment in the series! I found the characters to be relatable and real. I'm totally for the stand Coco was making for all the nobodies and thought she was totally awesome! I thought Fawn, Liezel, Renata, and Adair were lovely characters as well! I love the growth we saw in all of these girls. Dijon, Évian, Venice, and Truffles were great villains in this book. I loved how Trudi portrayed how much power they had, even over the teachers. I think Dijon was only a product of her mother, as most kids who have overbearing and pressuring parents are. I thought Brec was a nice character, I wish we would have got to see a little more of him. One quote that really stuck out to me was what Coco said to her father one time:
"Sometimes we have to except that things are out of our hands."
"Aren't things only out of your hands if you put them down? Or never pick them up?"
I really liked that. I thought it was a really powerful quote that we should definitely think about. I enjoyed the ending and thought this was a good book for tween/teen girls to read!
(2.5) classic middle grade plot and okay-ish characters. The side plot with Coco’s mother is never really resolved, but it was a pretty solid book nonetheless.
This book is great , its appropriate for all ages ! I promise you will laugh at lest once at this book. I thought this book was amazing , and very well written!
