Dulcie O'Neil #1-3

The Dulcie O'Neil Set: Books One, Two and Three

Rate this book
To Kill A

The murder of a dark arts warlock. A shape-shifting, ravenous creature on the loose. A devilishly handsome stranger sent to investigate. Sometimes working law enforcement for the Netherworld is a real bitch.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy. And not the type to frolic in gardens. She’s a Regulator—a law-enforcement agent who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to keep them from wreaking havoc in the mortal world.

When a warlock is murdered and Dulcie was the last person to see him alive, she must uncover the truth before she’s either deported back to the Netherworld, or she becomes the next victim.

Enter Knight Vander, a sinfully attractive investigator sent from the Netherworld to work the case with Dulcie.

Between battling her attraction to her self-appointed partner, keeping a sadomasochistic demon in check, and fending off the advances of a sexy and powerful vampire, Dulcie’s got her hands full.

As the body count increases, Dulcie finds herself battling dark magic, reconnoitering in S&M clubs and suffering the greatest of all betrayals.

A Tale of Two

A Dreamstalker— a creature that stalks and kills its victims in sleep. A fairy in law enforcement determined to stop him. A potions smuggler who possesses something she wants. A vampire with his own agenda. And a partner who couldn’t possibly be sexier or more frustrating.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy working in law enforcement for the Netherworld.
When Knight Vander approaches her with a case regarding comatose victims, she agrees to help him, imagining the most difficult part will be combatting her attraction to him.

But, what Dulcie isn’t betting on is the fact that the case becomes personal when she learns all the victims are somehow linked to her.

When her best friend falls victim to the Dreamstalker, Dulcie must do everything in her power to ensure her friend’s survival, including associating with criminals and accepting the fact that desperate times do definitely call for desperate measures.

Great Hexpectations

A misunderstanding turned deadly. A fairy in law enforcement who won't stop until the truth is uncovered. A vampire who seems to be her ally but appearances can be deceiving. And a partner who would put his own life on the line to defend hers.

Dulcie O'Neil knows she's at fault for failing to arrest a wanted criminal but when her partner gets pinned for the crime, she'll stop at nothing to ensure his innocence.

What Dulcie isn't planning on is a trip to the infamous Netherworld where chaos rules.

Between battling the affections of a mysterious vampire, protecting herself from monsters and ensuring the innocence of the one man who would die for her, Dulcie's trip to the Netherworld isn't sunshine and strawberry daiquiris.

I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!

I enjoyed To Kill A Warlock more than the rest of the series. (I've read up through book five now.) Individually they are all alright. Each one focuses more and more tightly on Dulcie, which I think is too bad. I know she is the main character, but she isn't the centre of the world(s). She is like Netherworld crack apparently. All beings lust after her. She almost gets raped more times than I can count. The leaders of The Resistance listen to, and even seem to take orders from her, as soon as she makes herself known. She is the daughter of someone important, etc. As the series goes on the books just seem to spiral closer and closer to her and therefore allow for less and less development of the other characters. Though I did love a few of them. Bram is AWESOME and I really wanted him to find some happiness for himself. He was my favourite character by far. Knight is darned sexy all the way around. Dia is a hoot and Sam is Dulcie's Samwise Gamgee. You can't help but like her.

The books do seem to be getting shorter with each new one and ending on sharper and sharper cliffhangers. Honestly, toward the end I started to feel like they weren't even complete books. One bleeds too easily from one to the other. Plus, each book recaps each of the previous ones. So, book one was recapped in book two, books one and two were recapped in book three, books one two and three were covered in book four. You get the point. It got really repetitive and took up a lot of space in the already short books.

Dulcie O’Neil is a detective extraordinaire and just happens to be a fairy. She works for the Association for the Netherworld Creatures as a Regulator whose job is to monitor the creatures of the Netherworld for any infractions of the rules here on Earth. Surprises go with the job, for example she was hexed by someone who didn’t care for her and turned her into a green nine-eyed monster. Thankfully her best friend Sam is a witch with just the right potion to undue the hex. In her line of work it also helps to have “friends” like a vampire and a demon. You never know when you need a helping hand. Dulcie has a hate/love interest in her new boss. Her old boss turned out to be not the friend she thought he was. Dulcie’s character is amazing. She is a strong, determined woman who will not stop until she gets what she wants even if she puts her life in danger. She is also determined to never love again. But will that last? Dulcie cases are never easy. There is always danger, intrigue and lots of twists and turns. The cast of characters are all dynamic and add a bit of spice and fun to the stories. I recommend these books to anyone who enjoys a good detective story, the paranormal, from a great story teller.

So this was a set of 3 books, do I remember their proper names? No. I just called them Dulcie O'Neil. If u wanna find out what happens in book 3, u gotta buy book 4. GRRRR!! They were all good, not I- can't- go- to- sleep- till- I'm- done, good but good, ok, lil books. I did & still do hate the leading man's name Knightly Vander, like really? Is this a Harlequin Novel? I liked that the main character was a strong female character, throughout all 3 books. Unfortunately, that was also the thing that I came to dislike about her. She was ridiculously stubborn, to the point I wanted to slap her.

I honestly didn't know if she & "Knight" where gonna get together or not cuz she kept thinkin about her old crush & playin defense to men cuz of her previous breakup. And we were reminded about that break up at every freakin turn. Have u never heard the sayin to get over 1, u gotta get under another? Here come the SPOILERS.

*****SPOILER*****SPOILER*****SPOILER*****SPOILER******SPOILER*****SPOILER******SPOILER*****SPOILER*******

She FINALLY get's w/ Knight only to have him snatched away by the Netherworld Police. She & her old Boss Quinllan, who turns out to be the bad/shade of grey guy, aren't done either. I didn't read that, I just feel like they aren't done w/ each other.
Dulcie's daddy is gonna show up as the head of the ANC, which I saw coming. Bram is really a good guy/vampire.

I absolutely Loved this series. What a fresh fun I idea to have a kick-butt fairy as the main character. She's fun, sexy, and sassy- and she's smart. It was a great romp, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I ended up buying the whole series of books after this... and although the series does decline in freshness with the last couple of books, these first 4 are excellent!

This was a collection of the first three books in the series. It was... okay. The main character is kind of irritating - too much "everyone has the hots for me 'cause I'm super sexy but I don't know it" - but I've enjoyed them enough that I will (eventually) find book 4 and 5 and finish the series.

Still a Fun Read

I am reading this series for the second time and am enjoying it immensely. I'm picking up things I missed on my first read. H.P. Mallory is a good, creative and entering writer.

I love H.P. Mallory. Her characters are developed enough to feel like you are having a real relationship with them. Her girls always have a lot of sass and they don't play games. Love them!

Had high hopes for this series, but it devolved into more of a "will he or won't he" series. This author has real potential.
