Soon Josiah realizes that to understand his calling, he must save a young werewolf...a werewolf with incredible powers of his own. Along the way, alliances are forged and old enemies rise again. Did I inadvertently buy a teen romance? I bought this box set for .99 on my nook because I couldn't pass up the deal. Perhaps I should have. The first book, Vampire Love Story, was decent. Interesting premise. Love story? I didn't care much for either of the main characters but thought they would grow and develop. By the third book I wanted to step in the book and strangle our childish couple.
They fall in love immediately, but wait-she's confused. No, she does love him but has feelings for another. He wonders if it is destiny, no has to be love. Blah, blah back and forth. This is the first series I was rooting for the bad guys to wipe out the couple. I pushed through all the books but did not even try the bonus, werewolf love story. I just couldn't push on. I'm reading a good, "Who done it?" now. Romance is the last thing I want to read.
Two stars because if you are a teen, you just may love this series. I am too old to read about vapid characters with no depth. With some work and further development, this could be an decent series. Needs an overhaul.
This series grasps you from the first book and doesn't let go! I read all the books in three days, I just had to get to the next book to see what happened and before I knew it I had read all of them and wanted more. Nice easy read, fantastic characters. Not your typical vampire and werewolf story. Go grab the first book today, or better yet, get the whole set as you will want more!
It really has its good parts but I just couldn't stomach Josiah's constant boasting, always reminding us of how humble he is then telling us how superior he is, in the same breath. I lacked around 1000 pages in the boxed set & had to finally put it down.
If the title didn’t say 18 books it would have left me feeling better. In the 5 books the story of Tommy and Josiah is a good read. Would have preferred them in chronological order. There are still many unanswered questions but l suppose there are more books in this saga.
I just read a wonderful series by H.T. Night called, Vampire Love Story Books. H.T. Night is the brother of J.R. Rain. Hold on! I knew you saw the word Vampire...GET BACK HERE!! I know...I KNOW. However, these were different......
Josiah is a kid who gets attacked- becomes a vampire. He has lost his family and is living with his buddy who is a fellow MMA fighter. There are werewolves and all kinds of violence and mayhem. For you smoochy lovers, there is romance for you, too. These books are classified as "paranormal romance.” Aaack! The romance is not overkill. I did not throw down the kindle screeching, "OH COME ON!!!" There is actual strategy to their battles. You learn what makes the characters tick...good and bad. I read these in 2 days. They are that addictive. I especially enjoyed the fact that there were folks that were of the supernatural nature and were not happy about it. Gave the characters a little humanity. (Did that even make sense?) I wish these were classified as straight paranormal. When books are listed as romance, I know I tend to think for the ladies only. Both men and women would like these books.
Is it wrong that I like romance written by men more than women lately??
OK so the first book is called Vampire Love Story, but I'm a little confused on who I'm supposed to be routing for here. Josiah has two women in his life. Lena, who is more the girl next door type. Sweet, innocent and she has been a great friend to Josiah. Then there is Yari, she is the hot vixen who is very sexual and she is kind of bad A.
I like his relationship with Lena better than Yari's. Yari sort of rubbed me the wrong way at that party where she sort of drugged him then brought 2 other girls in the bedroom to... well whatever. Yari has saved his life more than once now, and he has slept with her more than once, but for some reason I'm not feeling their relationship. I am definitely on team Lena.
I am really enjoying Josiah's humor and his internal monologue. Some of the things he thinks and says crack me up. I like his character. I'm also really eager to hear what Tommy has to say for himself. I can't wait for Josiah to meet back up with him, now that he is a Mani and he knows about Tommy being a Carni.
I'm kind of sad about Atticai. He was a weird character, and I really liked him despite the things he did.
Not much of a review, more just my thoughts about the book.

It took me a minute to really get into the story. Possibly Josiah's "tough motherf&$?!" attitude, but once I fell in love with him, I truly enjoyed his bad ass self. The relationship between him & tommy is what true bff's really are. Loved the quirky jokes throughout. Loved Josiahs evolving character, his love for Lena....ah Lena....don't even want to touch that one right now. Definitely worth reading, can't wait to download the next installments. Definitely needed some editing, I'm available next time, free of charge. :)
H.T. has created a fantastic series of vampire novels. He brings a refreshing new approach to the supernatural world. I loved Josiah and Lena. Tommy is quite the character. I enjoyed the roller coaster ride as Josiah and Tommy discover more about themselves and their enemies. I would recommend this box set to everyone who loves romance and of course vampires.
I loved this series. It leaves you hanging and wanting to find out how it all ends. Josiah's story will be picked up in another series as well as Tommies. Great storylines. I can't wait to see how they all end. This is not the typical vampire and werewolf story.
Still reading..haven't gotten past third chapter. It turns out its just one of those stories where I just can't connect with the characters but am hoping as I read on that it'll click. So for now I just keep plugging along in between other more interesting books.
some are better then others, and the last book should be first or listed as a prequel because it's about Tommy and how he becomes a wolf and how he meets Josiah's sister. It's more a YA series but not bad. Like the characters.
I really like the four book series. I will have to say the fourth book, it was getting a bit old, but overall goodread. Sad to say, I will have to look on, to find out how it all ends as this was a box set I purchased not knowing there were more.
It was a freebie I believe. It's YA and for me was just so-so. It's well written and interesting enough but I really like adult explicit erotica and reading this was just for fun.
I enjoyed reading this series, the characters were good and well developed. The book could have been better edited. I hope to enjoy more off this series.
