Using clear, simple language, Early Bird Astronomy titles provide newly fluent readers with thorough explanations of the planets in our solar system, as well as an introduction to space exploration and basic astronomy concepts.
Uranus is the seventh planet in the Solar System. The book begins with a picture of the solar system identifying Uranus. It then shows a scale of how the size of Uranus and Earth compare. Throughout the rest of the book, the author described the different attributes of the planet including how many moons it has, if we could stand on it, and whether or not it could sustain life.
Evaluation
This is a great book for learning the planets. The author uses great pictures to describe the planet and uses easy language for students to grasp the content and enjoy it. Students would be able to flip through this book leisurely and read it on their free time.
Teaching Point
I've used this book to teach the planets in the Solar System before the solar eclipse. The students and I read the book, and they were engaged in their learning. We were able to compare Earth to Uranus to give them a more tangible example. They had the opportunity to do research on the planet to aquire more knowledge.
