Do not let the title of this book fool you - it is much more than a book on coaching. Instead, this book is an excellent guide to how to work effectively with people from many different cultures. The Cultural Orientations Framework is an excellent assessment tool that coaches and consultants can use to determine the mix of cultural values among team or group members. For instance, where along the spectrum do group members fall, in terms of a preference towards working individually, or collectively? What is the preference of team members towards a concise linear sense of time, vs. a more circular and fluid one?

The chapters that describe each set of cultural characteristics to consider are very well written and organized, in easy to understand language, and shows his extensive personal and professional experiences in doing such work with individual and organizational clients.

I believe that this book would be of value to people in any sector, public, private or nonprofit, who seek to work effectively with people from different cultures - constituents, clients or customers, as well as cross cultural work teams and organizations.

This books gives enough details to understand how cultural dimensions should be handled in coaching format. Also there are some interesting cases that give more understanding about specific results that people can gain with such coaching.

The practical side of the book, though, is not that good. Last chapters cover the coaching process itself and I'm not sure why author bother with including them at all. These chapter don't give enough space to understand how coaching would work and also there are some excellent books which do just that. And I'm personally didn't like the Global scorecard tool which author seems to be very proud of.

This is a very good coaching book for any level coach. I particularly liked the sections at the ends of chapters that provide ideas to take action or demonstrate the skill. We are using it in our coaching organization to heighten awareness of diversity and sharpen our skills at inclusion. There are many good resources to spark our own creativity.
