In a riveting, no-holds-barred style, Mac Gober, President and Founder of Canaan Land Boys' Home in Alabama, tells his remarkable life story, spanning his trauma-filled childhood, a dramatic Vietnam tour, and his brutal biker days. A bold book for those looking to be both intrigued and inspired, Unchained! tells how God turned Gober's rebellion into discipline, his hate into love.
I was given a signed copy of this book by a friend with the inscription, "If you ever need me, call me." I read the book and loved it. Years later I was so desperate considering suicide, I asked him to visit me in the county jail and he did although we had never met before personally! This book is about a man who was in Vietnam and in the Outlaw biker lifestyle. God reached out to him and he accepted the invitation. The story goes on after the end of the book to him being real and caring about individuals and taking the time to help lost and lonely individuals even though he is busy leading a great ministry for Christ called Canaan Land. I love this book and this man. Reading it and then him coming to see me when I called, changed my world and my view of Christians. He is the real deal. This book is a must read. It's captivating. It may change your life.
A really honest book that doesn't pull any punches but pulls you in for a hug at the same time. You can tell he really cares about Jesus and reaching young people who are hurting. Amazing to see what change God can do to someone's life.
