Then, the event continues into the Ghostbusters universe! Thanks to a plague of poltergeists that resist long-term storage in the containment grid, the Ghostbusters are dealing with a surplus of work... and their job is only going to get harder when Britt's zombies try to take a nibble out of the Big Apple! And, finally, back to the IDW universe for the grand finale. Britt has returned, armed with new technology that will spread the Infestation across all known realities. And so it ends . . . but, not really.
The Star Trek story here is reminiscent of some of the best episodes of the television series, and continues to do very different things with the very idea of zombies.
The Ghostbusters story is probably the most natural crossover in the Infestation storyline, using the franchise's own particular brand of pseudo-science to do some very unexpected things.
The ending, of course, comes right back to where the whole thing started. I would like to have seen something more in the way of evidence that the character Britt had indeed visited four universes and gotten something from each one, other than her being so much more powerful. But that is a small thing to pick at. The last chapter does not spare on freaky visuals and real danger for every character involved. The ending, like the best zombie stories, is totally open.

I bought the Infestation series of 2 volumes because of this one, which had a Star Trek tie-in. I liked that part quite a lot, although the infestation concept didn't seem to be working the same here as in Volume 1. I also found myself liking the Ghostbusters/zombie cross over quite a bit, possibly because I'd just seen this movie again a couple of days earlier. Overall, enjoyable, and better than volume 1.
