A month ago, Jackie was attending high school, believing that she was human and that the supernatural didn't exist. So when she woke up on an island and was told that she was a shapeshifter and that her narrow world view needed to broaden to include vampires, werewolves, the fae and many other magical creatures, she just took it all in stride. Well....not so much, really. In fact she was pretty pissed off at first. But after being teamed up with three other young rogue shifters and after meeting Garrett, her extremely hot vampire trainer, Jackie found a peace within herself that she didn't think possible. Now Garrett was her lifemate and her team was ready to defend the magical community from those who don't live by the laws that protected them all. Unfortunately, because of her unusually strong magical abilities, Jackie has caught the interest of a Fae Lord, a creature made of the incredibly potent magic that flows through the earth: so powerful that he's able to make things happen with just a thought. Because they've been invited to the Midsummer Solstice Ceremony, she and Garrett are on their way into Faerie, into his territory and more danger than they can possibly imagine.

A Fantastically Written Paranormal Adventure Continues!
Stalked (Book 2 in the Rogue Shifter series) is written in such a way that the reader doesn't have to have read the first - but why deprive yourself? The characters are very well defined and the interaction between all the different types of supernatural groups (including species bias) is fascinating. This book is as full of action, suspense, danger, personal dynamics and growth as it is compelling. I loved watching Jacqueline (Jackie) grow in both her personal strengths and her powers. This book (and series!) is a definite "must read" for any paranormal/supernatural romance lover! Superbly written! Author Gayle Parness is a new author for me, but after reading Rebirth, the first book in the Rogues Shifter series, I was a die hard fan! Not usually a YA reader, both of these books are so well written that I was hooked. I actually didn't miss the usual steamy, detailed sex scenes I'm accustomed to with most PNR reads. Book 3 in the series went immediately on my wishlist, along with the others in the series!
The superb continuation of the story of the Rogues team and their fight against the bad guys, both shifter and fae. The relationship between Jackie and Garrett is amazing, but there's something very special about her and Liam, and there is also still a question mark about her actual heritage that is quite intriguing. A wonderful mingling of worlds, and detailed descriptions of characters, emotions and personalities.
This book and the next was a hard read. This writer is able to capture and convey imagery and heavy emotion. I am not fond of Drama or soap opera's. Reading this book, was vivid and colourful. This writer is good with passion and flirty teasing.. or at least conveying.
The next chapter in Garrett's and Jackie's adventures. Keeping you on the edge of your seat to find out what is going to happen next! Can't wait for the next one
okay so fast review what I loved about this book is the relationship between Ethan and Jackie and Jackie and Liam.. I also found it really believable the fact that Jackie has a lost twin sister and instead of loving her already and have a relationship right of the bat (like I have read from some other books) here it is still a little unsure.. A because well Brigitt is just a little whiney bitch and very selfish and B because Jackie already actually has a family and I loved how she put her place after the whole ordeal with her father and the fae, and when she choose to do something alone with her team instead of taking her with....
I felt the same when Garrett wanted to kill Bridgett at the end because of her selfishness and stupidity and because of that jackie is in Kennet's hands. I don't like Bridgett and I do think that in the next few series she will probs redeem herself but I kind of hope that she gets put in another team instead of with Jackie's.... This is one series I cant put down Up to the next book.
I love it when authors take me on a ride I didn't expect with turns and flips I didn't see coming. And the twists and jumps in "Stalked" worked especially well for me! Parness really is a wonderful story-teller. I truly found it hard to walk away from the book to do things that needed getting done. I kept wanting to find out what would happen next. And I was surprised over and over again. One of the true strengths in this book and in the series is how all these VERY different characters interact. The dynamics are often unexpected but, in time, come to make perfect sense. And the diversity of character types (as well as supernatural varieties) make the interactions compelling as well as a whole lot of fun. As in "Rebirth" there's a lot of humor in the story as well as tension. And for a non-reader of fantasy literature the descriptions of places like Parness's rendering of Faerie is completely captivating. I wanted more.
I don't know where to begin. When you read a series. I know for myself I hold it to a higher standard then a stand alone. Sometimes you can read them as a stand alone. I recommend that you start with Rebirth. You won't be disappointed!!!! Stalked starts up where Rebirth ends. and new characters are introduced, bringing with them a new twist and understanding. The love between the Main characters is amazing (the kind that you want for yourself.)AGAIN i couldn't put this book down, I went as far as downloading this book to my phone so that i could take it to work and read it on my lunch breaks. The Momentum of the story is still going strong. The Magic is AMAZING and the plot thickens . Make sure when you buy this you but #3 !!!!! Gayle you are AMAZING!!! and again if i cold rate this more I would!!!!!
WOW! This second book of "Rogue Shifter Series" is full of suspense and surprise. The plot stays fast paced and has many subplots that all come together to make a great read.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes paranormal....this is not just a romance. While it follows romantic lines there is plenty of suspense, danger, fighting and intrigue. Even some death that is hard to read.
This review is short because I must start book 3 "TWISTED" because the end of "STALKED" is a cliffhanger that....well you'll have to read it to know.
So so good. I am a fast reader as it is, however I finished this in about 1/2 a day which is a record for me. I had these books in my libary for about four months and kept skipping over them until finally on 5/31/12 picked up the first book and started reading it and I am so glad that I did. The story line draws you right in from the beginning and keeps you hooked all the way until the end! I urge everyone to pick up these books and give them a chance, you will not be disappointed!! On to book three now :).
The second book was better than the first. I rate this a 3.5. Jackie has to go undercover at a high school and find a fae. Meanwhile, a powerful fae lord is after her. The plot was good. I liked Jackie and Garrett together. The supporting characters are interesting. It reads more like a young adult novel, which with the main character being 17 makes sense. But the series gets a lot darker.
I really enjoyed the second book of the Rogues series, but the whole time I was waiting for the inevitable confrontation with Kenner--- of course it finally happens and we have the dreaded cliffhanger. A bit slower paced than books 1, but I'm hooked and purchased book 3 to start right away. A great series.
I listened to the Audible version. "It was just ok" This series is very similar to Twilight in the fact that the theme of the book is young love. I did enjoy it but I prefer other paranormal authors.
