A deliciously dark romance by @sasharcauthor. This is not a genre I have read much of, but the book sounded intriguing and I wanted to branch out and read something that I wouldn't normally read. And boy was I not disappointed!

This book is super addictive and I read it in two hours as I couldn't bring myself to put it down at all. You are dragged into the life of Mariah as she deals with an extremely abusive husband, and when she is in hospital she meets Josiah, who helps her see that love is not the way she believes it to be.

There are three different POV in this book which allows you to understand the minds and motives of each of the characters. I did enjoy being able to see into each of their lives.

Although it is dark, there is a happy ending, which is good.

A couple of gripes - This book could definitely do with another round of editing as there are some spelling and grammar errors that are blatant and very noticable.

Another gripe is the constant us of '... hours later' in almost every chapter. I don't feel that it was always needed, but I can see that Sasha wanted to show time moving.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes dark romance, and I look forward to future books from Sasha.

No man has the right to look at what is mine, touch what is mine, or talk to what is mine without my permission. He will pay soon enough once I figure out who the fuck he is."

💫Synopsis

Mariah lives just outside the gates of the isolated prison where her strict & domineering husband Blaine is Worden. Soon after their wedding she finds out that he is capable of brutal & horrific things. He has rules that she must follow or she will face the consequences. He is in complete control over everything in his life for years until the night he goes too far & she ends up in the ER. Because of her injuries her Dr refuses to release her. While in the hospital, she meets the man in the bed next to her, ex-con & drug dealer, Josiah. Can he protect her from her husband? He vows he will at any cost.

💫This book was just what I was hoping it would be. It was fast-paced & engaging from the first page. Sasha did an exceptional job building each character & setting up some very intense & brutal scenes. I highly recommend this book & am looking forward to reading more of her titles.

Mini review:
•I loved this book! It was a very fast passed novel that worked through abuse and trauma. Mariah is married to an extremely abusive husband who constantly tricks her into believing he is sorry. She ends up at the hospital where she meets Josiah and he vows to protect her and keep her safe.

•This is the first book I have read by Sasha and I am looking forward to reading more!!

•"You are my safe place, Joe."
"And you are my world, Mar," he states, pulling away. I feel his lips on my forehead.

•Till death do us part is no longer a nightmare but a fairy tale I never want to end.

Wow! I was glued from the first page. This book had so much heartache. But damn was it worth it off that ending! Without giving too much away this abuse storyline was torture to read because it’s so realistic however, I feel that it was written really well and although we see a lot of abuse it is well pointed out throughout the book that it is not a normal or healthy relationship. And Josiah does such a good job at showing what a loving relationship looks like (minus the little issue with Blaine) It’s so easy to relate to Mariah and I absolutely adore Josiah. The character growth in this especially for Mariah is just amazing!

As bad as it sounds I enjoyed the fact that we got to see Blaine’s POV. Don’t get me wrong it was twisted and wrong on so many levels however, it’s not often we get an insight into the head of the villain in stories and I felt it added more depth and understanding to the story.

Please read trigger warnings! This book is hugely based around abuse.

This is my first dark romance book ever and I’m going to say Sasha girl I am so glad I got out of my comfort zone and read it because this book right here was AMAZING! even though this book has mayor TWs, I got hooked right away, I really needed to know how it would end.
I suffered with Mar the whole time, that sweet girl did not deserve any of it, I am so happy that Joe was in the hospital that night and knew right away that she needed him she needed to be saved, Joe has a history but he has the sweetest heart and he was willing to do anything in his power to protect Mar from that Ugh..I can’t even mention his name!….Joe was so patient and so sweet to her…there was time where I found myself sobbing heart broken, pissed! But I was happy to see Joe and Mar grow together and live the life they both deserve, Mar got her true Prince Charming love of of her life and her very well deserved happy ending!

I enjoyed this book a lot. The abuse between Mar and Blaine remind me of how my relationship was with my abuser. Just not as bad as theirs was.

I love how Mar and Joe slowly started to have feelings for each other. The two are perfect together. I love how their story ended. And honestly, Blaine got what he deserved. Big time! That was probably one of my favorite parts of the book.

The last few chapters I loved. Seeing how Mar finally got the marriage and life she’s always wanted (after going through the nightmare). And how she overcame her fears, trauma, and what she was used to. I enjoyed reading how she was bettering herself. How Joe was supporting her the best he could without triggering her or making her feel like she wasn’t in control.

And can I just say, I love the little one that appears. <3

This book is heavy. Lots of potential triggers and very heavy content. Overall I liked and appreciated the writing. The story was well written, the characters felt believable and unfortunately I feel like the story made sense. However dark, twisted and sad it was I found myself happily reading more. I needed to know how the story would turn out. If Mar would ever be okay. If Joe was who he really said he was. I was hoping for Mar to find her ever after. But the more and more I read the harder and harder it was to keep going. This book made me uncomfortable multiple times, which may have been the goal. The two things I didn't like were how many times the would "stated" is said and how many times Joe calls Mar "baby". Neither one seem to fit, no one uses a pet name that much. Overall it was a good book but I would proceed with extreme caution this book is not for everyone.

This book has very heavy content. I really liked and appreciated Sasha's writing. The story was well written, the characters felt so real and unfortunately I felt like the story hit so close to reality. No matter how dark, twisted and sad it was i couldn't stop reading. I just had to know how the story would turn out. If Mar would ever be okay. If Joe was who he really said he was. I was hoping for Mar to find her happy ending. Most of the time it was hard to keep going.

Mar and Joe were meant to be together.

So glad that Blaine got what he deserved!!!

Overall it was a good book but this book is not for everyone, please check TWs and proceed with caution!!!

Thank you to Sasha and Order Of The Bookish for this ARC 🙏🏻

I enjoyed this book overall. It's quite a heavy read. I would recommend reading the trigger warnings first. The reason I only gave it three stars is because it seemed quite repetitive. There would be several sentences in a row that basically said the same thing just in different ways. It drug the book down for me. I do recommend it if it sounds like something you might like.

‼️‼️Research age demographics, TWs for this books prior to reading to determine whether or not it is appropriate for you.

I don't generally read books that involve DV because of my own history but I went in with an Open mind and Sasha most definitely gave me a better ending to think about.

This book kept me so tightly wound that before I knew it I was reading The End.

Mariah was the perfect victim having no family or friends to reach out to when needed. Grooming her to be the Submissive Wife he had been raised to believe he should have was harder than Blaine thought and he about killed Mariah a couple times in the process.

Blaine was the epitome of togetherness to the outside world but was a true Wolf in sheep's clothing. He maintained a high stress job with lots of people who feared or respected him so he gained strength in that knowledge as well. There were times when he'd apologize to Mariah and it seemed almost genuine which made him more dangerous.

Each of us would like to have a great marriage and a perfect home where we feel safe and secure like the world can't touch us but realistically everyone doesn't get that wish in the end.

Josiah is a Billboard for Red Flags with his body covered in tattoos and war wounds from his dangerous lifestyle, his motorcycle and poir life choices but his eyes and his words told a different story that Mariah wasn't able to withstand. He will give plenty of women something to dream about that's for sure.

I don't want to spoil this book for you BUT you have to read it and when you finish you'll realize why. Happy Endings do happen and Not all Bad guys are bad.

Happy Reading 📚

🖤Till Death Do Us Part: A Dark Romance🖤
ARC Review thanks to @orderofthebookish
Author: Sasha RC
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5-4
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️

🖤The beginning of the novel warns that this is not a sweet fluffy romance but a dark one with lots of TW. I am not a huge romance reader and this will be my first ever “dark romance”. I liked the immediate grip I felt to the story and the characters. I thought the hospital scene was a bit unrealistic but I have worked in hospitals since I was in college: and so I let that one slide. I felt as though the author did a great job with the character building, which always makes or breaks a story for me. If you are looking to get into dark romance this is probably a great starting point. The book could even be scooted over into the thriller/suspense genre IMO. It’s not your typical love story. It’s got rough edges and it is a story of determination and will of a strong woman. It’s also a story about how when you truly love someone. You see them. You see underneath the surface. You see all of their goodness. (I honestly thought that there actually was some sweetness to the story, and it was perfectly mixed with darkness).
💭What I didn’t like: there was way too many obvious typos and needs to be sent back for another round of editing.

ALWAYS CHECK THE. TW!
Not all Fairy Tales are Nightmares.
There are hard subject matter in this book. This book was an emotional and mental journey. Few things: There is really no detailed spice scenes, HOWEVER the story line is more than enough. Another thing that was amazing is how we got to see into the future. I rarely ever see an author go into the future after the final boom ending.
This is not your typical love story. It is dark, tragic, emotional, and mentally exhausting. We watch Mar go from someone who had dreams, goals, and a future to a broken shell of a person. We see the struggles she endured in the past and the present and how she is trying to overcome all the trauma that has happened at the hands of her Husband. Sasha is amazing at writing the Psycho MMC. It hard to put into words but you can just feel what they are doing and see into their messed up minds. You truly believe that something is indeed wrong with them and how they rationalize their actions. The "hero" of the story, he is patient and kind, and worships the ground she walks on. He falls fast and hard for this broken girl. She thinks it is her who needed him, when it was him that needed her. She helped bring him back to life at the same time he helped put her back together.

This book takes you on a mental and emotional roller coaster. It was gut wrenching at times and on the reverse incredibly sincere, beautiful, and moving. I walks you through DARK domestic abuse and a woman’s journey to escape not only her abuser in the physical sense, but also what domestic abuse does to you internally. While it is very dark, it also has a beautiful love story in it. Josiah is an angel and the way he lovesMariah and protects her heart is beyond words. While there was a lot of pain, hurt, and suffering in this book there was also tremendous freedom.

This is definitely a dark, heavy read and I strongly advise everyone to read the trigger warnings. Your mental health is important.

The one negative I can’t complete this review without being transparent about is that the book unfortunately was very poorly edited. I have read other books by Sasha before and this is not usually the case. It was a struggle at times, but the book was excellent and a very quick read for me.

What’s a girl to do when her Prince Charming turns out to be the villain of her fairytale? who means it when he vows till death do us part and by that he means hers when love means pain and suffering and your white knight turns out to be an ex con from the very prison your evil Prince Charming is warden of. Josiah is no saint he’s an ex con drug dealer who has done bad things but nothing compared to the horrors warden Quad inflicted on his own wife, after a faithful meeting in the hospital Josiah knows he will do anything to take Mariah away from her monster of a husband anything to protect her because when he makes a vow they hold a far different meaning.

Dramatic, suspenseful, angsty and dark a woman learn the two very different ways men take their vows

This story with Mariah and Joe had me by the heart. The simple fact that, now had no idea who she was or what he life was even like and he wanted to protect her after their first meeting.

“ I will spend the rest of my life earning her love.”

Joe did everything he could, from going slow to making sure Mariah knew he was there for her. Their story was sweet yet so real, with what they dealt with. The amount of abuse she went through with the husband was what kept Joe from never giving up on her.

I could go on and on about this book but I definitely don’t what to give any spoilers away other then it was completely worth it.

A quick-paced story about love and redemption. Mariah has succumbed to a life full of misery, pain, and tears. Everything changed after she said “I do.” Until one terrible night changes the course of her life. A mysterious man with demons of his own, Josiah comes into Mariah‘s life in the most unconventional way. But will she ever truly be free of Blain’s cruel ways and torture? Will Mariah find peace and happiness before it’s too late?

I loved this! I read it in one day as it was easy to get into and I became immersed in Mariah’s journey. It was definitely dark so I would recommend checking the trigger warnings at the start. I liked how there were multiple POVs as this really enabled me to connect with each character more. The reason for only rating this book four stars is due to the errors and typos in this book. If it had another round of editing it would’ve gotten five!

Wow this book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. It was such a beautiful story of a redeeming love.

Wish the Joe’s character would have been developed a bit more. I wanted to know the character more in depth.

I was not prepared for it to totally skip over spicy scenes and come back “1 hour later” 😅

It one intense read. Deals with a woman having do deal with her abusive husband. Finds help from a career criminal. It shows you can judge a book by its covers.
