So, I had to snicker a little when I read the first few pages of Nicole Austin’s Naughty Vibrations. The heroine, Sara Cooper, is stopped by TSA in an airport because some of her personal ʺtoysʺ raise a red flag with the screeners. This happened to me once which is why I found this scene so funny. My husband, who enjoys shopping for toys as much as I do, found this bullet vibrator that looked like a lipstick. He bought it as a joke and gave it to me and I threw it in my purse and honestly I forgot about it until I tried going through security in Salt Lake City, Utah a few months before the Olympics were held there. At that time SLC had the latest and greatest in security screening and that little lipstick bullet set off all kinds of alerts. I mean seriously did they think I was going to blow the place up with the two little batteries that it required? Worst of all I was traveling with my teenage niece who I then had to explain about the bullet, why I had it, and why I was stopped. So, in my opinion Sara got off easy and got herself the man of her dreams in the process!
Sara Cooper has been divorced from her cheating bastard ex-husband for two years. He still wants to control her but she’s made up her mind that it’s time she makes it clear she’s done with him. Returning from a birthday weekend with friends and armed with a bag of sex toys, she’s determined to seduce her friend and confidant, Jack Taylor.
Jack has been waiting for Sara to give off any little sign that she’s ready to move on from the hell that was her marriage. When she explains why she’s been stopped by TSA during a phone call, he knows it’s time and he has plan to make sure she knows she is what he wants.
I loved this story because these are two people who have a lot of affection for each other but the timing wasn’t right. Once it is, they both decide to go for it and boy do they ever, in the most fantastic way. Even though their first time is interrupted, what happens later that evening is the best foreplay ever. When these two finally do manage to get together, they are so hot I’m surprised they didn’t set the smoke detectors off!
I like that Sara doesn’t play the part of a jealous bitch of an ex-wife, it’s clear she feels her husband’s infidelity and her divorce are the best thing that happened to her. It’s hard not to like Jack who is blue collar all the way but is classy and has Sara’s best interests at heart. The fact that he refuses to let her ex continue to harass her is proof he’s a stand up guy. When Sara’s former circle of friends tries to belittle her, he is there to make her understand how beautiful she is to him and every other male around.
This is a feel good story; yes there is the confrontation with Sara’s ex that gives it a little conflict but for the most part it’s obvious that these two belong together. They are open and honest with one another and have no problems sharing their desires and their wants for the future. Naughty Vibrations was so easy to enjoy because these two people deserved a second chance at happiness and there is no doubt in my mind they will take full advantage of it!
When long-time best friends, Sara and Jack finally find their way into each others arms, some ‘good vibrations’ shake their worlds…and their hearts.
Sara has wanted the hot, sexy, masculine man for years but until recently hadn't wanted to jeopardize their valued friendship. She buys a bag of sex toys at a special party given by her girlfriends in hopes of coaxing Jack into a closer relationship.
When Jack learns that Sara has just bought a ‘suitcase’ full of sex toys, he confronts her with his own raging desire for her. It’s not long before Sara realizes she's deeply in love. Then to her joy, she finds that Jack has loved her as long as he’s known her but has patiently waited for her to get over her broken marriage before revealing his feelings.
I found myself believing this story and the characters as though they were real people. The tale of best friends who find they share a deeper love is a popular and realistic fantasy, here made fresh and fun. This story was also hot and wild all the way, with the toys playing a creative role. This is the first time I’ve read something in an erotic scene that was completely new to me…I won’t give it away!
Nicole Austin’s timing is perfect and the flow of events and dialog leads the reader on an exciting and absorbing romantic journey that pleases the mind and senses. She's effectively fluent in her writing skill, especially when describing the good vibrations. Whew! Great job, Ms. Austin!
I look forward to reading more from this dynamic and accomplished author, and highly recommend, Good Vibrations for a choice read.
Very good story. Jack and Sara were friends for a while before her divorce and after the divorce Jack was Sara's friend...a rock of support. What Sara doesn't realize is that Jack's just been waiting for her to get over her ex and the crap he put her through so they can move on together. I really enjoyed reading this story and was glad I bought it.
After a nasty divorce, any woman needs a new way to think about herself and the way she relates to men. THIS BOOK is one of those that illustrates how a woman accomplishes that. Funny, dear and wise, this is a nifty novella. You'll thank yourself for reading it!
Jack and Sara are so cute and I'm so glad to see them get together. Sara could be so bold and yet venerable regarding her ex. It's great to see characters realize what they want and go get it.
Excellent little story of Sara taking control of her sex life and go after Jack. I was glad to see her take the high road and get what she wants and the man to help her realize them.
