I just happened upon this book by a recommendation. Once I started it I couldn't put it down.
I adored Alexia right off. Her character grows and strengthens throughout the story and she becomes a force to be reckoned with. I loved Master Triston from the moment he was introduced, it helps that's he also sexy and irresistible. When you see the bond the two share, you can't help but hope things work in their favor.
It took me a chapter or two to get into this story. There was set up and backstory, and it was important, but it was bleak. However once the male hero was brought into the story, I literally could not put it down. I was engrossed and absorbed in the love story. The main character Alexia was easy to relate too, and I found myself very tapped into her emotions. I was excited every time she was, and sad and horrified at her friends death. In the end, it is a true love match and Alexia learns secrets about herself that will be explored in the next books. I can't wait!
