Ghosts of the Asylum (Sequel to The Kobalos Trilogy

Rate this book
The streets of the city of Bond boil with discontent.Political struggles within a power vacuum bring dreams of dominance to some among the lower levels of the city’s underbelly. Common thugs and guild bosses alike conspire together, their goal to eliminate the figure of Kron Darkbow. Permanently. Kron has become a symbol on the streets, and his removal would not only clear the way for others, but also would be a sign of who has the real power in Bond.Amidst the chaos, buildings burn, riots go nearly unchecked, and even the city guard find themselves forced to retreat. Through it all sits the Asylum, a building in ruin, a building with history, a history that involves Kron Darkbow. For if the street scum fail to get the man in black, perhaps the spirits of the dead will prevail.OTHER BOOKS IN THE HORRORS OF BOND TRILOGYDemon Book II of The Horrors of Bond TrilogyThe Company of Book III of The Horrors of Bond TrilogySix Swords, One Skeleton and a Prequel to The Horrors of Bond Trilogy (short story)OTHER KRON DARKBOW NOVELS AVAILABLECity of Book I of The Kobalos TrilogyRoad To Book II of The Kobalos TrilogyDark King of The Book III of The Kobalos TrilogyBlade and Prequel to The Kobalos Trilogy (short story)

Really solid dark fantasy featuring Johnston's hero, Kron Darkbrow. After the initial trilogy (which was very good, btw), Kron has a crisis of purpose and is trying to reform himself. The challenge comes when someone he doesn't know wants to kill him for some unknown purpose. Kron takes it to the dark side one more time to defeat his enemies. The dark side being the Ghosts of the Asylum. Recommended for high adventure fantasy and sword and sorcery fans teenage and up.
