Rate this book
More than 18 million Geronimo Stilton books in print!

Finally, I was about to leave for a relaxing vacation all by myself. I was ready to kick back and connect with nature. But somehow, my peaceful trip turned into a crazy treasure hunt in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota with the entire Stilton clan in tow! Our journey even included a hot-air balloon ride to Mount Rushmore. Holey cheese! This was one adventure I'd truly remember.

These are very popular with children, so I was surprised to be so underwhelmed. Geronimo was bland. The story was bland. Obviously, I'm out of touch. At least I'm a few years away from making sweeping generalisations about kids these days based on what they read. Stay tuned for that though.

Another read aloud with the boys. Geronimo just wants a relaxing vacation, but his cousin Trap drags him into a crazy adventure with his family instead. Hijinks ensure. One thing I appreciate about this series is that it does teach geography in a more fun way through his adventures.

Our girls really like the Geronimo Stilton chapter books. I think they are quite corny, but they are fun and filled with action and adventure.

This is an entertaining story starring the hapless, but lovable Geronimo Stilton. I love that it describes some of the more popular tourist spots in the Black Hills of South Dakota; we can learn while we enjoy an entertaining story. For example, I did not know that the Devil's Tower was declared America's first national monument by Theodore Roosevelt in 1906. In fact, I can't say that I'd ever even heard of it before reading this book.

The story is exciting and a bit silly and our youngest really enjoyed reading it independently. She brought it home from her second grade classroom to practice her reading. I prefer reading books from this series on my own after she does, to reading them aloud together. We've read a couple books in the Geronimo Stilton series, and we will certainly look for more at our local library, although I doubt we'll read them in order.

Geronimo stilton was planning to have a relaxing vacation near Mount Rushmore ,but then all of Geronimo's family surprised and took him on a treasure hunt.First they had to ride a horrible plane to Mount Rushmore ,then Trap ,his friend and Geronimo had to ditch the rest of the family because it would cause too much attention.they had to take a hot air ballon ride to the top of Mount Rushmore .Next the whole stilton family came back together and searched Emerald cave where Geronimo had to face a mountain lion. After that Geronimo had to face another mountain lion at a bottom of a hill. Then he fainted. Most of the stilton family climbed up while some stayed down ,after they found the treasure they donated it to a museum .

My favourite character in this book was wild willy aka W.W because he was adventurous and was fearless.
I want to be like him someday.
My favourite part was when Trap thought there were real gold coins but it turned out it was chocolate coins with gold wrapping. It was so funny. I laughed a lot. I also liked the bit where they were showing Mount Rushmore and showed all the 4 famous presidents of America. I understood that through the book it was very detailed and contained some pretty good information. Though liked most of the parts, I felt that the book wasn't great because I didn't believe it was possible to scare away a mountain lion with a twig. that was a bit silly but the other parts were really good.

I really like this story, because I’m the story,Geronimo’s relaxing holiday is being taken by his cousin, Trap and made it a terrible holiday for him.He had to go with the whole Stilton family and his credit card is also being stolen by Trap to buy things for everyone so I learn a story from him is to keep your things well.In the story, they all went to Black Hills of South Dakota and they need to find a box of chocolate which is very funny.

I enjoyed this beginning reader chapter book. The book is full of engaging full color illustrations. This novel had many details on the sites to see in Black Hills, South Dakota. It was full of educational details, interspersed with humorous shenanigans. Please note, if your beginning reader is dyslexic, they may have difficulty with the text as there are numerous font types, sizes and colors of text throughout every page.

It was in Mt Rushmore, and he went in a cave and fell in a puddle of water that was shaped like a heart and there was something written at the bottom of the pool of water.

Geronimo stilton is a very interesting book and it has a really unique plot because the plot looks at mouses instead of actual people

A fun one for the 5 year old! For the mom? I will forever be annoyed by the cousin Trap and how he ruins Geronimo's life. My daughter thinks it's funny though.

Geromino's books are full of pictures and are fun to read.
The story had a twist, instead of getting real gold they got chocolate coins, and it was a competition not some secret treasure hunt.

Run for the Hills, Geronimo! Is a book apart of the Geronimo Stilton Series. The Author of the book is Geronimo Stilton. This book is fictional. The genre is adventure. In the book the main setting is in South Dakota. The main characters in the book are Geronimo Stilton, Thea Stilton, Benjamin Stilton, Trap Stilton, and Wild Willie. Geronimo Stilton heads to South Dakota for a "relaxing" vacation until everything goes wrong! What could have possibly go wrong? I rated this book 4 stars because I love fiction books, and a little spice up to my stories.

Geronimo wanted to go on a vacation. He got hooked up with a first class ticket but his cousin changed his flight to go hunting for a treasure. At the end there was no treasure and it was all a game. The map that showed directions got ripped at the part where it said that it was a game that could be tried out to get to the finish line!!!!!!

Geronimo was planning a restful relaxation in South Dakota, but his cousin, Trap, finds out and changes the trip plans and includes all the family and friends, so that he can go along and search for treasure.....treasure that he doesn't want to share with anyone else.

my first gs book. i liked the educational bits of it, but found it overall exhausting, story and the everchanging fonts. what's with that? it makes it impossible for early readers to enjoy the books by themselves.

This one takes place in South Dakota, which is interesting because (other than Mount Rushmore) I don’t know anything about South Dakota that is even remotely interesting. Geronimo Stilton has now proved me wrong! That’s what my life has come to: being proved wrong by a fictional, cartoon mouse.
