This book provides the encouragement and direction you need to begin carving a road through your complicated circumstances to a place of quiet beauty--a place called simplicity.
I was disappointed in this book. I didn't even read the last few chapters- just skimmed through them. The author quotes her own song lyrics (she's a songwriter) or other people's books on just about every other page. The back cover promises tips for leading a more simple life, but she mostly rambles about her own move to the country from the city... not much of that could be applied to my own life.
This was a fairly good book, with Biblical insights woven in and real-life stories and quotes throughout. I didn't find it overly helpful, as most of the tips/ideas contained about simplicity are in the nature of my personality anyway, but I did take a page of notes and came away with some new things to ponder and apply. I do think someone who has a more extroverted personality than I do and tends to run at a higher speed through life might find this book more life-improving than I did.
Insights into how we complicate our lives and great ideas for embracing and practicing a simpler lifestyle. I will be re-reading this and using the study that is included in the back of the book. Love the authors realistic outlooks and sweet spirit.
