Written in 1903 by Populist icon Tom Watson, this book will be of little value to readers interested in learning about the life and times of Jefferson. But for the sort of nerd who is already familiar with current scholarship on that subject, it is interesting to see how a history of this sort is framed in the context of the public issues at the beginning of the 20th century--particularly how they are framed by Watson.
