Persona Non Grata is Quint Adler's most tumultuous case yet. A close friend of Quint's is murdered and he agrees to investigate it, not knowing just how depraved the case will become. After discovering a second - and then third - murder, Quint knows he should bow out, but he's too far entrenched to turn back now. It may prove fatal for our beloved Quint.
This Author has a unique style mixing humor and homicide and it works perfectly! While these books (series 1-7) can be read as standalone and be quite enjoyable, I recommend reading the series in order. The books take place in locales well known to the Author and for fun I looked up some of the places and they are exactly as described -you can visit them if you know where they are located. The fictitious Newspaper, where Quint no longer works, is still pretty much as it would have been back in the day. The trouble Quint continues to attract, because he does look for it, is always because he has a very tightly wound moral compass.- he probably ought to have been a cop, but he’s a brilliant, if not slightly awkward and well meaning PI instead . So prepare for a ride follow this current situation and hold on tight!
I must start this review off with a shout out about the author, Brian O'Sullivan. Brian has written 11 novels and 1 short story. I have read several authors in 3 different genres and every once in awhile even your favorite author writes a dud.:-) But, I have to say EVERY book Brian has written is a 5 star read. If you are not familiar with this author, check him out. You will not be disappointed. Now, the review. "Persona Non Grata" is book 7 of the Quint Adler Thriller series. In previous books in the series Quint is always smack in the middle of the drama, some of which he creates. In "Persona Non Grata" nothing has changed, the drama he is in is on steroids. One of his dear friends is murdered. Even though he has not been hired to investigate the murder, he jumps in head first, pro bono. As with all the cases he has been involved in, it is a roller coaster ride. All the feels are there, murder, suspense, romance, humor and omg all the twists and turns. I would say I can't wait to read Brian's next book, but I am currently reading it "The Mastermind". So whatever the next book is, I'm there.
Dare I give another 5-star review to author Brian O'Sullivan?! Like his character, Quint, I dare! And in this penultimate book in the Quint Adler series, Quint is quite daring. Quint is a character you will love from the beginning, and that stays true throughout the series. In this book, he jumps right in when the investigation is about the murder of a very close friend (d*mn you again, Brian). He doesn't care what it takes or who's cage he rattles, he is going to get to the bottom of this mystery. From beginning to end, the story was phenomenal, and I can't wait for the final book in the series (coming December 2024).
A style of his own. #11th in the Quint Adler series. In this book Quint bounces from P.I. to news reporter. Quint started out as a reporter for the Walnut Creek Times newspaper. We are in sunny California. Quint goes to visit an old friend only to find him dead. He decides to investigate the murder. Soon more people are murdered and Quint himself is shot.
The Quint Adler series never disappoints. They are a gradual build to a "can't put the book down" conclusion. Persona Non Grata did not disappoint. I hope Mr Sullivan keeps writing adventures for Quiet ... And us.
Entertaining a usual! This time I really enjoyed the ending. You pulled it all together nicely. One of my favorite books of yours. Going on to the next book now. Keep writing please.
Great book and series. I have read each of the 7 books so far in this series and enjoyed every story. Lot's of action and suspense. Great endings which leave me wanting more. Hope there is an 8th book in this series
I loved all the Quint Alder book. They twist and turn, leaving the reader guessing into the last stroke of the pen. Excellent stuff, Mr . I Sullivan.. Thank you for your books
Just when I think this series can't get any better...it does! What crazy things Quint Adler gets himself into. I am going to be so sad when this series is over. One more book to go....
