This 64 page book, takes the reader through chapters like “Disgusting Dinners”, “Odd Bods”, “Oozy, Gooey Bodily Fluids” and “Weird Weapons”. The text reveals little-known “gross” facts about Aussie animals, while the busy, blood-splattered, slime-dripping design is set to appeal to the lucrative male “Tweenies” market (boys aged 7–12).

The book features 50+ stickers which add an interactive element to the book and allow the reader to “rate the grossness” of selected facts, and add speech bubbles to designated spaces, so kids can express with a selection of responses, what the animals may be thinking.

This is book is a fun, busy and somewhat unruly approach to educating kids on nature. The book speaks to its demographic in their language and tone and information is presented in a funky graphic format.
