ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ, ಬರಹಗಾರರಾಗಿರುವ ಮಣಿಕಾಂತ್ ಅವರು ಮೂಲತಃ ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ನಾಗಮಂಗಲ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಆಯತನಹಳ್ಳಿಯವರು. ಆಟೋ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಇವರು ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಹಾಯ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿರುವ ಇವರು ಈ ಗುಲಾಬಿಯು ನಿನಗಾಗಿ, ಮರೆಯಲಿ ಹ್ಯಾಂಗ, ಉಭಯ ಕುಶಲೋಪರಿ ಸಾಂಪ್ರತ, ಹಾಡು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಸಮಯ ಎಂಬ ಅಂಕಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಇವರ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಕೃತಿಗಳೆಂದರೆ ಅಮ್ಮ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಂಟು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳು, ಹಾಡು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಸಮಯ, ಅಪ್ಪ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಆಕಾಶ, ಭಾವ ತೀರ ಯಾನ, ಮನಸು ಮಾತಾಡಿತು ಮುಂತಾದವು. ಇವರ ಅಮ್ಮ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಂಟು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳು ಕೃತಿಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಅವ್ವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ದೊರಕಿದೆ.

🔸ಅಮ್ಮ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಂಟು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳು ~ ಎ ಆರ್ ಮಣಿಕಾಂತ್ || ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇದೊಂದು ಅಮ್ಮನ ಕುರಿತು ಅವಳ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಕುರಿತು ಇರುವ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಅನ್ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ ಆದರೆ ಓದ್ತಾ ಓದ್ತಾ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯ್ತು ಇದೊಂದು ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿ ತುಂಬಿದ 35 ಲೇಖನಗಳಿರುವ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಅಂತ.

ನಮಗೇ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸರಿ ಇದ್ದು ಕೂಡ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಸಾಧಿಸದೆ ಉಳಿದು ಹೋಗ್ತೀವಿ , ಬರಿ ಕೊರೆತಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡ್ತೀವಿ ಆದ್ರೆ ಅ ಕೋರೆತಗಳನ್ನ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಧಿಸಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನ ಯೋಚ್ನೆ ಮಾಡೋದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ

ಆದರೆ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಕಥೆಯೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ ಹೇಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೊರೆತೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಧಿಸಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನ
ಸಾಧಿಸೋಕೆ ಕೈ , ಕಾಲು ಸರಿ ಇರ್ಬೇಕು ಅಂತ ಏನಿಲ್ಲ ಆತ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಒಂದ್ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಎನ್ಬೇಕಾದ್ರೂ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡ್ಬೋದು ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ .

ನಿಜವಾದ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಎಂತವರನ್ನು ಮನಕಲಕುವಂತವು , ಒಮ್ಮೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕಣ್ಣಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ತರಿಸಿ, ಒಮ್ಮೆಮ್ಮೆ ಕಚಗುಳಿ ಇಟ್ಟು, ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿ ತುಂಬಿವಂತಹ ಕಥೆಗಳು
ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಓದಲೇಬೇಕಾದ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ....

very vaguely written stories, felt some were just exaggerated. Had to DNF it!
started reading in Jul and by Oct I just couldn't finish this - this is my personal opinion, maybe this was a wrong genre for me!

Nothing new to offer. It is just compilation of 35 small stories which we all received via whatsapp or email forwards. Book is not worth its hype. This book try to replicate Soul curry of times of India publication and fails miserably.

ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವಲ್ಲ, ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಥೆ ಗಳ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ ಅಷ್ಟೇ, ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲ ಕಥೆಗಳಂತೋ ಬೇರೆ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥ ತಿಳುವು ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಮೊದಲನೇ ಸಲ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಕವರ್ ಪೇಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ಟೈಟಲ್ ನೋಡಿ ನಾನೆಲ್ಲೋ ಇದು ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಅವರ ಜೋಗಿ ಅಥವಾ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ರತ್ನನ್ ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ನಂತಹ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಟಿ ಆಗುವಂತಹ 8 ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮದರ್ ಸೆಂಟಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಇರಬಹದು ಅಂದ್ಕೊಂಡೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ 35 ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತ ನಡೆದಿರುವ, ನಡೆಯುವ, ನೈಜ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಲ್ಪನಿಕ ಕಥೆಗಳಿವೆ.

ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮ್ಮನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತ್ಯಾಗದ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಗಳು ಅಪ್ಪನಿಗೆ "ಅಪ್ಪಾ ಐ ಲವ್ ಯೂ ಪಾ" ಎಂದು ಬರೆದ ಪತ್ರ ಇದೆ, ಅಂಗವಿಕಲತೆಗೆ ಸವಾಲೊಡ್ಡಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರ ಮೋಟಿವೇಶನ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿಗಳಿವೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಪ್ರಣಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಲವ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿಗಳಿವೆ, ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮತ ಕೇಳೋದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರೋ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬರೆದ ಒಂದು ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಪತ್ರ ಇದೆ, ದೇಶ ಕಾಯುವ ಯೋಧನ ನೋವಿನ ಕಥೆಯಿದೆ.

ಹೀಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತು ಹಲವಾರು ಕಥೆಗಳು ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಕಥೆಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣು ಒದ್ದೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ, ಕೆಲವು ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತವೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವು ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
