I'm glad I found this series of books. The reason I picked this to read is I want to see nowadays how teenage girls or pre-teen girls think about boys so to better understand my students. The author uses a very creative way of writing: used the notebook format and very likely hand wrote these words and drew the pictures herself. Very easy to read, and it's stand alone even without any knowledge of Amelia's previous stories. Like how author shows a candid view of Amelia's life as a 8th grader. Recommend to teens girls.

This is the 28th book in the Amelia's Notebooks series by Marissa Moss. Our oldest discovered this series earlier this year and she really likes the journalized tales, so she was eager to borrow this book from our local library.

What she didn't realize is that Amelia has gotten older and more interested in boys in this installment. She begins eighth grade, and our fifth grader just wasn't ready for this one yet. She thought the boy crush focus of the story was 'icky' and refused to finish it. So, we will likely go back to reading the books in order, since the ones that we're on are more age-appropriate for her.

Still, it's a fun, fast read, and I would say that it's a very good book for an eighth grade girl to read.

I love the Amelia books, but I think they should be longer. 80 pages is just not enough for me. Other than that, the book was really good and realisitic :)
