With a unique blend of Wild West and fantasy, Kristina Hall taps into a sub-genre not often used to gift the reader a story of faith, gentle romance, and danger.
The characters were great...the good ones, anyway. The nasties deserved to be consumed by dragons. Svana's name is lovely and I liked how protective Angmarr was of his wife. In a world where masculinity is being attacked from all sides, he was a refreshing character.
The plot was, as I said above, unique. I'll not say too much lest I give it away, but I enjoyed the creativity put into it. The worldbuilding, too, was quite creative and I appreciated the numerous elements Hall included to make this world feel so real.
As usual, the faith was excellent. Themes of trust, salvation, and redemption were richly woven into Exiled.
FORMAL ENDORSEMENT
Hall combines an engaging plot and a sub-genre not often used to create a story rich in worldbuilding and faith. Readers of Christian fantasy will not want to miss this captivating tale of danger and gentle romance.
