A lot of this information has become well known since this book first came out. I could have done without all Lehman’s memoir-style anecdotes. Most families are having maybe 3 kids nowadays so it seems like his particular family’s emphasis on several sets of kids is outdated. Also I couldn’t get over the author’s reluctance to participate equally in family planning and his obvious bias towards last borns (even though he identifies as one).
This guy is the funniest psychologist I’ve ever encountered. Learned a lot about myself and my family members. This book will be a good book to revisit if I’m ever blessed to become a parent.
