About the author

Takerra Allen was born in Jersey City, NJ and resides in Somerset, NJ. In addition to being an author, the 25 year old is the CEO of an all female Entertainment Company entitled Heaven Inc., and the half sister to the late renowned Tupac Shakur (sharing the same biological father, former Black Panther, William Garland).
Takerra and her business partner of Heaven Inc., have launched Angelic Script Publishing to give new edgy writers a chance to demonstrate their talent and to give readers and lovers of Contemporary Fiction, new and exciting books to fall in love with. Writing continues to be Takerra's first love however, and her work has been appraised by many veteran African-American writers.

This was my introduction to Takerra Allen and I can’t say that I’m disappointed. Man this series had soooo much going on. I was hooked. A group of friends … scheming… plotting… lies and secrets… love… real raw love…….

I was very intrigue with this book. Let just say while reading this book, you will get so caught up with the characters that you will be talking to yourself while reading. If it is not grimy Jayde, it will be self-absorb Sasha because they will take you there.

Miss Allen I love the story line. I didn’t get a chance to read the first 2 novels but I got the picture.
I would recommend this book.

Tatum and Ree deserve d to be together. Their love was always constant. Sasha and Chauncey had love but no loyalty. This tied every thing together but Hatred evil ass antics bought tears to my eyes. Great concluding and your life can get better Ree is the man

Going Out With A Bang

If all good things must truly come to an end then Author Takerra Allen definitely knows how to go out with a bang. What started out as a story of four friends has tragically dwindled down to just two; Tatum and Sasha. But even their bond will be jeopardized in this final installment. Adding to the turmoil is Jayde who's harboring ill intentions against both women. Jayde's gripe with Sasha was inherited from her mother Emerald while her beef with Tatum stems from her deep rooted desire to be with Ree.

Jayde is at the helm of Thicker Than Water 3 leaving nothing but death and destruction in her wake. More dangerous than her underworld ties and murderous behavior is the fact that she utilizes both to aid her in her quest for Ree. With Jayde, Takerra Allen has crafted a female villain whose wickedness will most likely go unrivaled in urban literature. Although I truly hated to see it all come to an end it definitely was one hell of a ride that ends in draw dropping conclusions for both Sasha/Chauncey & Tatum/Ree that readers will never see coming!

With so many urban authors attempting trilogies Takerra Allen is one of the few who successfully exemplifies how it’s supposed to be done. Thicker Than Water, Still Thicker Than Water and Thicker Than Water 3 are all examples of highly recommended reads!

The only thing I can say is wow! So many secrets were exposed in this book. I wanted a happily ever for Tatum and Ree, and Sasha and Chauncey, but....

The book opens with Tatum and Ree involved in a paternity test with Trinity...I was wishing that the baby wasn't for Ree, but....I knew that something wasn't right with the situation and once Jayde showed up my suspicions were aroused even more. Just when it looked like Tatum and Ree would be parents, Jayde enters the picture again and does something so despicable, I wished I could have reached through the book and murdered her myself. But being the strong woman the she is, Tatum endured and finally ended Jayde's reign of terror, or does she?

Sasha and Chauncey....I never saw what happened to them coming. I thought they would FINALLY have a happily ever after, but Sasha had some secrets of her own that she was hiding. I lost some respect for her because she put Chauncey down for stepping outside of their relationship, but she did the same thing, with a friend.

Tatum and Sasha...a secret is revealed between the two of them and who was the person involved with it being revealed, no other than Jayde.

TTW 3 was an excellent book to end this series. All questions were answered in some form or another. I would highly recommend this series

Man this is too crazy for words.If the mind-boggling schemes and lies do not get you, then the shocking revelations surely will. I cannot believe how this thang concluded. Fire, I tell ya just fire. Talk about mouth hanging open revelations.wooo. Sasha is going to have to facing some startling revelations not only about her spoiled self, but those closest too her as well. Can she forgive and forget and let by-gones be by-gones or will she let well places secrets destroy what's left of her closest relationships. Tatum ( the strong one) can she maintain that strength in the face of tragedy and despair, or will she allow the lies and miscommunications destroy her love for Respect. Respect can he maintain his top an status as his house of cards begin to fall. Poor Chauncey will he always be Sasha's superman and she his kryptonite. Jayde takes jealousy to a realm that is out of this world, she is willing to go to any lengths to try and get Respect. Listen this is where the rubber meets the road. Takerra has woven a suspenseful masterpiece that will keep you guessing until the last word on the page.Awesome read!

Dope with the pen

This has to be one of the best series I've ever read. It's action packed, edgy, cringing and toe curling. The writing is amazing. The story is well thought out like watching a film. At every page something exciting is happening. Respect and Tatum love is so in tuned. The pain and suffering Sasha and Chauncey went through was crazy. And that damn Jayde, I didn't trust her in book 2 and she got worse. However evil never wins and all thing prevail.

If Takerra writes it, it's an almost a certainty that the book/series will be a banger and as I close the chapter on Thicker Than Water, that statement absolutely couldn't be truer. Every book in this series was messier, more emotional, and deadlier than the last, and this book was the BEST of all of those things.

For one, I didn't see Sasha cheating on the bingo card. Chauncey was an absolute dog; he cheated on her with her best friend, he cheated on her on business trips, and he slept with another of her friends prior to them being in a relationship and didn't say a word to her. Not to mention, he was never around. That being said, Sasha KNEW these things about him, and she still wanted to be with him yet complained about who he was. Come to find out, Sasha wasn't little miss innocent herself. To keep it a buck, Sasha getting her a little action on the side wasn't right, but I wasn't mad at her for it. Her hypocrisy is what I found crazy. She was mad Chaucey was cheating, when she'd been cheating too! Then, when he gets sentenced to 25 to life for killing the man Sasha was cheating on him with, she STILL was trying to reach out to him in hopes that they could rekindle their relationship. The book ends with her trying to ease her way in with one of Chaucey's friends who she knows has a girl already. Sasha's story was probably the most disappointing to me because you could tell she would never learn. She felt her mother was a bird, yet she did the same things. She wanted to have her cake and eat it too. And the shit she pulled with Tatum on their wedding day, no matter that they made up, made me look at her all the way sideways. Accepting Chauncey's proposal, yet distancing herself from Tatum who'd always been there for her...? No ma'am!

Ree and Tatum were my favorite couple of the series, and my favorite characters honestly. I found it so attractive how down bad he was for Tatum and how he wanted to meet her every need. Jayde was really trying to work her magic on him; sending him nudes, propositioning him with another woman, all out saying she wanted to fuck him, and what did he do? He pissed on her! Which was so disrespectful, but listen, that's how I'd want my man to handle the broads who don't know boundaries too. And I was so happy to see Tatum and Ree work through every kink Jayde threw their way. The lawyer situation, finding out Ree killed Chris, losing their children...! Their love overcame it all, and their words to each other at that wedding ceremony were absolutely beautiful and had me tearing up. Takerra tends to write relationships that make me question if I've ever actually been in love. When Ree let down his guard and cried to Tatum, when he tells her he'd die for her, when he sets her up with her own business, when he gives up the streets for her, when he kills anyone who dares threaten her safety...he was really that man for real, and I loved his street ethics and the way he moved so carefully with everything. He tried to teach Chauncey, but he could never peep what Ree was trying to throw down.

I hated Jayde on principle, but I had to give props for how far she was willing to go to be with Ree. Destroying his wife's womb, killing his child, helping a woman trap him with a baby, burning down his business and almost killing his father, like the list is endless. The girl was absolutely relentless and absolutely trifling. And when Ree finally asks her what she wants, and it boils down to her wanting to get fucked by him, all my respect kind of fell apart for her. Like you did all this to have sex with Ree? You ruined all these peoples' lives for THIS? Like girl. I thought she was thinking big, but she was thinking small. And it was so fulfilling seeing her get got in prison. Jayde always felt like she was above everyone, and didn't develop friendships or inspire loyalty, so when the shit hits the fan, she was up shits creek without a paddle. Jayde also reminded me a lot of Neli, and even though Neli tried to redeem herself, it was too little too late and her actions came back to bite her too.

Honestly sad to be saying bye to this series. It took me for an absolutely wild ride and I could not put down the books, like I was putting off watching AOT simply because I HAD to read this book and see it through. Another TA classic! I just wish her books weren't $45! I want to collect them all instead of reading on my kindle, but $45 for a paperback, absolutely not lmao

The answer is…not always!

This series gripped me. At the epicenter are two women who aren’t sisters but blood couldn’t make them closer—Tatum and Sasha. Their trials and tribulations, their highs and lows, their journey through love, friendships, relationships, the streets and ultimately, betrayal make this series a page turner indeed. Takerra Allen is so brilliant of a writer because I can’t even count the number of times I was gagged. Or the number of times I laughed out loud. lmboooo

F*ck Jayde. She is probably one of the worst individuals I’ve ever read in a book. A manipulator, a baby killer, a regular killer…May she rot in the deepest part of hell. What a bird.

I can’t believe I was about to forgive Chauncey. He had a good book 2 but showed his WHOLE ASS in book 3. Absolute terror of a man and I need Sasha evaluated for still trying to keep contact with him after everything he did to her and Bleek. That’s another one…BIG bird. lol But I’m happy with Chauncey’s fate. He a rabid animal who deserves to be chained for life.

I can go on and on about the number of side characters in this book—all of whom are pivotal in driving the story forward…some of whom I loved, some of whom I could do without…but I’d be here all day so I’m gonna round out my thoughts with theee couple of the book:

Tatum and Ree 🩷

I’m so glad their love stood the test. They were tried from every angle, specifically by that b*tch Jayde, and survived. Of everybody, I’m glad they got their happily ever after. They truly deserved it. SB, I loved that Ree gave up the streets for Tatum and went completely legit. The way that man loved her?! WOW. One for the books, truly.

This book kept me on my toes !

Ree is a man ! I love him so much. He could be cold when he wanted to be but his love for Tatum was unmatched. I love how he loved Tatum and never folded. He was truly a stand up man. I thought for sure he’d turn out to be another Chauncey at one point but I blew out a breath of relief when he proved me wrong. Ree is just everything an MMC needs to be. That man played no games !

My heart broke for Tatum. She and Ree went through entirely too much and I just wanted them to have a break and be happy. Throughout the story it seems like the worst things kept happening to them, especially Tatum. I just wanted her to win. She gave so much to others and hardly ever got any love or loyalty in return aside from Ree. She deserved so much better than the terrible things that kept happening to her.


I’m convinced jayde is the spawn of satan. There was no someone could be that evil. She didn’t even get enough retribution for me after all the horrendous things she did. The crazy thing was she wasn’t even that smart and made it pretty obvious that she was the culprit so I was confused how no one fully picked up on it. She made it blatantly obvious that she was behind most of the stuff she did.

Chauncey got exactly what he deserved! I should’ve known that after he told Sasha that mess and basically told her a man cheating was expected that he’d never change. I was glad he met his match with her. I thought for sure he’d stop after getting her back but he proved he’s the worst kind of man and wasn’t sorry for what he did the first time. He was just sorry he got caught.

Sasha had to be the most selfish character ever. She hated Tatum getting the wedding and spotlight that she was desperate to have. She was a terrible friend to Tatum. That situation she was upset about wasn’t even serious for her to carry on the way she did. It happened years ago before she even met Chauncey ! Also I was not expecting her to put the uno reverse on Chauncey! Omg! I was not expecting that but he deserved it.

Bleak unfortunately got the short end of the stick all the way around.

I was so happy Kim got the justice she deserved.

Neli was the antagonist in the first and second book of this series and now Jayde becomes the one you despise even more in TTW 3. Though I did feel a lil' sad about the character Neli's demise. Sasha and Tatum are life long friends but can't seem to get their HEA thanks to Jayde and her antics. She is a queen pin who's behind a lot of the murders of her own crew members. Poor Chauncey never stood a chance since he wouldn't give up that street life. He choose it over his love for Sasha and baby Aubrey.

Anyway, Jayde's real goal is to replace Tatum as Sean aka Respect Knights main lady, but Ree only has eyes for Tatum. Will anyone catch on to all the conflict she causes? You will have to read this exciting and drama filled novel to find out for yourself the conclusion to one of the best series written by the author Takerra Allen.

Tatum and Ree have the most amazing wedding in Jamaica. While they're celebrating love, drama is unfolding all around.

Jayde is back…with a vengeance! I wanted to reach they the pages and snatch her up myself. You really get to see how cunning and manipulative she is. Nobody is safe!

I truly enjoyed this 💎💎💎💎💎 read by @bytakerraallen, and the series as a whole. It started off a little slower than the other two, but once it picked up…it took OFF! I highly recommend that you check it out for yourself and don't forget to leave a review when done.

Through the fire!

It's complete! I finally wrapped up Takerra's complete catalog with this book and series! I started at the end and made it all the way back to the beginning. And let me just say this was the best way to experience her growth, progression and evolution as a writer. This series had plenty of mess, but book three took the prize for most in need of the janitorial mop! It's been quite the journey and I'm honored to have been able to take the trip! Looking forward to the next release because she is most definitely a one-click author for me!

Good callbacks. Nice conclusion. For the series overall, determining the POV got a little confusing but not a bad debut for the author. The series will be on my mind for a while.

Of note, Respect was a "bellhop" that Jayde had a crush on in book 2, but by book 3 he was someone she had always looked up to. That confused me. And I guess I can believe that Sasha went to Atlanta while she and Chauncey were broken up? I felt like it should’ve been mentioned in book 1. They only went to Atlanta for 7/4.

I’ve been hearing good things about Takerra Allen’s books and decided to catch up on earlier releases. Omg! I did NOT want this to end! I thought Neli was bad but she had nothing on Jayde! I hated how she was able to cause so much grief! I was disappointed in Sasha. All of her dirty little secrets were shocking. Respect and Tatum’s Love was so strong! I felt that. Loved this series!
