Eli and Clara's story continues as she tries to finish high school. Eli is as over protective as ever and Tate and his group of friends are no help. They wait for the Horde, always looking over their shoulder. But the ever annoying but strangely prophetic bird begins to become more of a chatter box and Eli learns something that could change some things. Not just for him and Clara, but Devourers everywhere.

Then an unexpectedness guest comes forcing Eli to flee with Clara, leaving her temporary family behind. She is thrown into his world of underground 'traitors' and learns much of his past. They meet many new people and creatures along the way to freedom. But when tragedy strikes the two, will Clara see the monster in Eli? Can she handle his strange world and awful past? Will one of them lose their life forever...

I'm so sad that this is the last book in the series. But I have to admit it was fun to write my very first series ending. Extremely sad, but fun to wrap everything up :) I'll miss Eli terribly!

I love goodreads! There is no other way how I would discover this excellent author. Shally Crane has unbelievable imagination and after reading this series I certainly want to read all her other books.

Consume was perfect continuation of this series. Clara and Eli were adorable as a couple in this book. This time they had to face various problems and obstacles and sometimes I was really worried that they would never got their HEA since whole book was darker than the first one. Relationship between Eli and Clara went through different stages in this story. They had to learn to unconditionally trust each other, realize that they deserve each other and manage their strong feelings for each other. Their relationship didn't have any fans and they had to constantly fight some opponents. I really liked that this book was about one and true love without having some love triangle or indecisive heroine.

I liked Eli in the first book Devour, but here? He is truly caring, sweet and such a loving character. It was admirable how he respected all of Clara's decisions and supported her. Here is a visual help from author's blog:

In Consume, loads of things happened. Consume was exciting and thrilling story which was very hard to put down most of the time. If you enjoyed first book, do not waste your time and read this too! Moreover, I was happy with the ending and I am curious how will things go on with this story in third instalment. Even though, I will definitely miss Eli and Clara as main characters.

Best Advice: Just buy everything Shelly Crane writes.

Starting off, I'm disappointed... disappointed that Consume is the end of this series. I could really go for more Eli and Clara. But I do think this was one of the best endings I have ever read.

Consume starts off right where Devour left off, and though I read in some reviews that it starts off slow, I didn't think it was. I mean the romance lover in me wanted to skip some parts to where Eli was involved, but once they are on the run- it's fast paced and a total page turner.

So Shelly? Uh, if you can't find it in you to add a third Eli & Clara, please, pah-leese, put out the next Significant book.

I'm dying here.

Clara was hoping that she would be able to finish the last few weeks of school unscathed and under the Horde’s radar. But when a blast from Eli’s past shows up, they know what they have to do…go on the run. After using persuasion on Mrs. Ruth, Eli sets off with Clara with one thing in mind…he must keep her safe.

Once on the road, Clara is faced with headaches and blackouts. And for once when Clara looks in Eli’s face she knows that whatever is causing them is not good. Will making it to The Wall in search of answers help Clara or put her life in more jeopardy? Will they even make it to The Wall in time?

When I gave my review of Devour I didn't go into much detail about the gist of the story...for fear of giving too much away. But if you are sitting at your computer reading this, then hopefully you have read Devour already and know what it's about.

I was shocked to see that Shelly was only making this a 2 book series, unlike her other series' that are at least 4 books. And I just knew there was no way she could finish Eli and Clara's story in just one more book, there was no stinkin way! But I was proved wrong, oh so wrong. Could their story have continued one? Of course. Was it a good and fitting ending? Most definitely! Consume did just that…it consumed me. *cliché I know* I eagerly absorbed every word, every sentence. It was a fabulous read that had me sitting on the edge of my seat, soaking up the romance, the suspense, and the mystery.

Shelly’s men, oh yes, her men are fabulous; the stuff of legends. Are there really guys like Eli out there, anywhere? Every word out of his mouth makes me melt like butter. My favorite Shelly Man is Merrick from Collide. But as I told Shelly via twitter…Eli is giving Merrick some serious competition.

Consume, Consume, Consume…oh what fabulous book you are; oh the things you’ve done to me. Pick up Consume and let Eli devour you! Cause this is one journey you will not want to miss out on.

It really sad to see the series ending..I will totally miss Eli and Clara ,Enoch n their adventures..

I liked how the book moulded from the first series..how it made Eli n Clara more closer in their journey..to explore their love more..to get closer past their fears and doubts and accepting they are part of eachothers lives.
How Eli took care of clara at every corener..it was sweet especially to see our snarky clara being taked cared of and ordered.

I don't know but when i completed i felt something missing in the book..i felt it was a bit different from first book..i though may it should have one more in series?,because there's still so much that could have been continued - there are so many open ends - Finn-Angelina,Enoch,Eli's Parents,Clara's Sister and especially how will Eli and clara's life goes from now as they have joined with rebels..even after the wedding...i was waiting for a perfect happy ending.I would be happy if there is a spinoff series or something to it!

As i came near to end..there were so many breaks that i thought "Ok it ended" n again it would start..LOL..until i saw the line "The very end".!

But..I totally was devoured and consumed by this book ;)

It was Amazing series :) and i am SOOO gonna miss it.

In my opinion this book is much more exciting than the first one.

We get to see a lot more of Eli's world, along with meeting people from his past and understanding a bit more about how he lived his life before he decided he didn't want to be evil anymore and before he met Clara. Their love is put to test once again as they fight against the Horde and find themselves in danger.

We get to see another side of Enoch, as opposed to the evil one we got a glimpse of in the first book. I have to say I really liked where the author was going with this new side of him, and I'm kind of hoping she decides to write something from his point of view. We also get to meet a new group of misfits supernatural creatures, the rebels. And they are as awesome as they sound.

I found this book a good closure to the Clara and Eli's story line, and I loved where Sherry Crane took me in the scenarios and situations she wrote for the characters. I'm definitely going to miss their story and all the amazing characters she created.

Gah!!! I love this book!! I am a little sad that this is the end, though - I'm really gonna miss Eli & Clara! I was shocked and amazed at all the things they had to go through, but their love was so great they always seem to manage whatever comes their way. They are both willing to make whatever sacrifice necessary to help the other one. It's hard to imagine Eli ever being an evil creature, he is so sweet and loving with Clara. They complete each other, make the other a better person, and manage to overcome all the devastation from their pasts just by being together. Some of the people events they encountered had me pretty worried, but every time they had a few minutes to look into each other eyes I knew they'd find a way to get through it! This is definitely a series I will want to read again and again!

It took me less than 24 hours to read this book. It was great, I really loved it but I kind of would have rather her turned into a devourer instead of him turning into a human. Just because they are more indestructible. And I'm gald that Enoch was finally coming around. He was lovable in a prickly bear sort of way. And I'm kind of freaking out that it said 'THE VERY END' at the end b/c I thought Shelly set it up perfectly for it to continue on with at least one more book. I hope that there will be more books! *crossing fingers*

Absolutely amazing. It was a perfect combo of romance, suspense, action and beauty. There was heat, sexy men, heart wrenching moments, anger, betrayal but overall you really just connect with the book. It was so well written that I would love for it to become a movie. It would totally kick the Twilight Saga's vamp butt. I cried and at one point I couldn't breathe there was just so many things. This is a must read for any paranormal-romance fan. It's not that long 148 pages but the story is beautiful and you can really connect with the characters. The first book really set the story and made it real. Everything that was going on in Clara's life in the first book brought the truth of life into the book so it wasn't like thrown into a paranormal world and that's all there is. No these books brought the reality of the situation. If this world existed and you were pulled into it this is probably what it would be like. This book was a fantastic read I couldn't put it down I just had to know what was going to happen next. The only downside I could see was the author didn't distinguish who was talking a few times so you really had to read it to figure who's talking. Other than that it was a great read it didn't stop every chapter it just continued on. Some might say the romance was rushed but in reality of their situation when it comes to the whole soul mates thing this relationship moved at a normal speed.

Yes, I am going to say it, I Consumed it. Ms. Crane must have lit her computer on fire when she was writing certain parts of Consume. *Fans self* I couldn't put it down. I loved everything about it. I have been waiting to see where Clara and Eli's story would take them. I can honestly say I never thought it would lead to where it did. It was filled with twists and turns leaving me to wonder if there was going to be a HEA. I just couldn't get enough. I was frustrated one minute and then ready to take a strip off of Eli the next. But don't worry ladies he makes up for it all. The book was simply amazing.

Clara had it pretty rough in Consume. Though I don't want to go into what is wrong with her, way too spoilery, she handled it like a real trouper. I loved seeing Clara grow up and be willing to put it all on the line for the boy she loves. I was gripped by her love for Eli and to follow blindly the way she did. I don't think I have ever read a book where the leading lady was willing to do that. I can say I am glad she did. She is one of few characters that realizes that sometime it is better to follow and not question everything. Don't get me wrong. Clara is a very strong girl but she knows when to pull back on the reins instead of plunging head first into trouble. I honestly think Clara is one of the most level headed female characters I have ever read about. One I am sad to say goodbye to.

Eli, oh man did you ever make me fall in love with you. I didn't think it was possible for me to love Eli more than I already did but I was very wrong. Can one guy be more perfect than Eli. He is just amazing. I love how he fought to save Clara, and their love. Not once was he not man enough to step forward and protect her. He took being a man to a whole new level. I can say I was in awe by his actions and his devotion to Clara. Sure there are parts that make you angry with Eli but we all know things happen for a reason. I never once doubted him and his intentions. Eli is pure goodness, but don't let that outer facade dupe you into thinking there isn't an alpha male below the surface. Seeing Eli possessive was swoon worthy. Read Consume and try to deny him his due. I am and always will be 100% TEAM ELI.

Once again I have to take my hat off to Shelly for not writing your typical YA book. It is awesome to have an author who is willing to write several books without following the norm. I hate to say it but sometimes it gets annoying to read the same thing over and over again. That typical boy meets girl, boy leaves girl, girls is heartbroken and trying to figure out why said boy is doing this, then boy and girl get back together. I love that Shelly doesn't write like that. She writes a story where you see the couple grow together and become a stronger together, become a whole and complete one another. It takes a great mind to write the way she does. Though I am sorry to see the end of this series, I will keep hope that Ms. Crane will write a story about Enoch. I would love to see this Devourer be reformed. Here is to believing in Happily Ever Afters. Shelly keep writing the way you do. You are just plain amazing!

In Consume, we see more of, not only Eli bringing out the best in Clara, but how she has done the same for him. Clara really comes into her own in Consume and is happy with the person she has grown into with Eli. She has found a group of true friends who have problems of their own and she is starting to feel more at home with the Pastor's family.

The Horde is after Eli and Clara just as much as last time and they must go on the run. Their journey is full of twists and turns that seem to test Eli and Clara's relationship in every way. The two find out new things about each other and learn exactly what it takes to truly trust one another.

For me, Consume was one my favorite books that Shelly has published (Yes, I've read them all). This one was quite a bit more "out there" than her other series but that's one reason I loved it! She brought the normal and paranormal worlds together perfectly and the romance was sizzly! I was planning on taking a couple days to read this one but I found myself completely sucked in and could not stop. There was never a dull moment. I was laughing one minute and biting my fingernails the next worrying over what was going to come of their current conundrum (There were a lot of them). I even remember cocking my own eyebrow at one point.

This is my favorite kind of love story, the kind that truly shows what love is all about. It didn't just focus on Eli and Clara's love though. It shows that love is something that everyone needs, whether it seems like they care about it on the outside or not.

This is the first series Shelly has finished up so I really did not know what kind of ending to expect. I was not disappointed! I enjoyed reading from Clara's point of view. She wasn't the same old damsel in distress you read about in most love stories. She's spunky, kind of a smart mouth, and doesn't let anyone order her around. She's stubborn but not obnoxious about it, which I appreciated a lot. I hate how some female characters can either be so needy that they can't even open a door for themselves or so stubborn against accepting help from the man who loves her that she just becomes a nuisance. Clara was a good, balanced damsel in distress for me. And Eli was...just lovely. *sigh* Always putting Clara above all else, possessive but never a tyrant. Again, balanced and a pleasure to read. I highly recommend the Devoured Series, as well as any other book by Shelly Crane. She has never left me disappointed.

Consume manages to combine romance, action, desperation, betrayal, and the paranormal all into one amazing book. Consume was a great ending to a great series. It will leave you crying tears of joy and then tears of sadness when you read the words “the very end”. I am happy to see the story concluded, but I am going to miss these characters.

Clara has really come into her own in this novel. She is much more sure of herself and no longer cares what others think of her. However, she is still her sarcastic and snarky self, and I loved it. Eli was still his swoonworthy self. He is truly the perfect combination of bad boy and romantic. The lengths he is willing to go to for Clara are astounding. He is the guy every girl wishes she could find.

One character I surprisingly and grudgingly came to like in this books was Enoch. While he was still a pompous jerk, he wasn’t as much of a pompous jerk. He also makes an effort, which goes against everything about being a Devourer, so I have to give him some credit. Ariel was another character that I really loved. It was interesting to learn about her back story and to see her find some happiness.

As I said before, Consume will leave you crying great big tears of joy. I hope Eli would be honored that I cried tears of happiness for him and Clara. This truly is the perfect ending, and it could not have been done any better. Reading the ending to this excites me for the conclusion to both the Collide and Significance series.

All in all, a fabulous read! One that I highly recommend to others. Honestly, I recommend anything by this author.

Once again Shelly Crane delivers an amazing book. I planned on reading this book over several days but ended up finishing it all in one sitting it was just so good. In this book Clara and Eli are racing to New Mexico not only to escape the Horde but also to find an answer to what is going on with Clara( I'm not going too reveal too much but Clara gets a little sick in this book.) And tagging along with Clara and Eli are Finn( Eli's old friend) and Enoch the character we all love/hate. Its a race against time to try and save Clara.
The plot is quick and intense and often times I would go from laughing like a hyena in my room to biting my nails in a matter of a few pages. You really feel along with the characters and there is never a dull moment in the book.
As for the romance... well can i just start off by saying thank you for not putting in a love triangle in the second book as most of todays YA romance authors love to do and frustrate all of us girls to no end with indecisive heroines and amazing guys pining after the same girl for the entire book( or more than one book) when the readers know who the heroine is going to chose. Shelly Crane writes a book where the couple stays together and works trough their problems which is just so much better than adding bad love triangles. So back to the romance in this book... as all of Shelly Crane's books are it was just amazing and heart melting and really really really makes you want a guy like Eli, who was so sweet and caring in this book. Now granted there are a few moments when you want to curse at him and burn the book but in a matter of pages the mess is cleared up and we love Eli even more. So if your devoted to romance do not miss this book or any other of Shelly's books they are all totally amazing.

3.5 Stars

“I want to save her because..." Even though he was speaking to her, he never took his eyes off mine. "Because I'm a better man with her. Because I can't imagine going back to being who I was before I met her. Because I'm afraid...that I could be that monster again without her here loving me.”

In this final installment of the Devoured series we witness a change in Clara and finally a change in Eli. As they fight to stay alive and get the help they need in order to live peacefully Clara learns more about the world of the Devourers. But for these two, nothing will separate them. Not a bitter brother, old as well as new enemies, or the juvenile acts of human teenagers. Eli and Clara encounter new beings in this book and make friends with surprising allies. But will fighting for their love cost them their lives?

Consume was an okay wrap up to Eli and Clara's story. We meet new characters and delve a little into ones introduced in book one. It was interesting reading more about the world Eli is from. But at times the book was just bland. The action was bland, the relationship was bland, and the characters were not really memorable. Well except for Enoch, he was interesting. I'm interested in how his story will play out in the next book in this series.

The book had its few good moments and that is why the 3.5 rating, but wasn't a book that I would read over and over again. I felt there was so much potential to Eli and Clara's story if the Devourer world was delved into more and in depth.

All in all, if you want a light, quick read then pick up this series.

Consume is the conclusion of the Eli and Clara's love story that began with Devour. Once again, Shelly Crane creates a world of paranormal all her own. Consume begins where Devour left off Clara is trying to graduate while Eli continues to worry about the horde. After a person from Eli's past comes to visit, Eli and Clara must run from the horde.

Another Danger comes to light as Clara begins to get sick and show strange signs. In order to seek a cure, Eli and Clara start off on an adventure that rivals all other. Their adventure takes them to a Devourer bar, bargining with a witch, and to a magical place called the Wall. Any fans of Shelly Crane's will know the only bad thing about this series is that it is only 2 books! ;) Shelly never disappoints and this was an excellent end to an all consuming love story.

Oh Shelly Crane, can you write a book I won't like??

I was somewhat surprised to hear that the Devoured series turned into a 2 booker...however after reading Consumed I can say I am quite content with the conclusion of this series. A wonderful read and all of the happiness and love that leaps across the pages from start to finish is a welcome read. Yes there are tough circumstances, but ultimately you know from the beginning that Clara and Eli are meant to be together and can't help but cheer them on.

It's been a while since I had read the first book in this series...but it didn't take much to immerse me back in the wonderful story of Clara and Eli.

I love how Shelly writes about life overcoming the odds. Her characters are strong...especially her female leads. Clara physically and mentally goes through things that most people, let along 17 year old girls would never be able to handle.

The love between Clara and Eli is just....amazing. Shelly has that way of writing about love.....

Looking forward to Altered...as I was intrigued by Enoch....and what else is in store for him.

"My heart hurts with the knowledge that I don't deserve you."
"Eli-" I started to argue.

"Clara(...)," he whispered softly and smiled. I smiled too, and sighed as a sign to him to keep going. "I don't deserve you and never will, but I'll never let you go."

Then he mouthed, "I. Love. You."
I mouthed back. "I. Love. You."

Another amazing book from Shelly Crane!
I LOVED Consume just as much as Devour. I swoon over Eli and honestly Enoch grew on me in this book. He tried and you can see Enoch cared more than he would admit. I don't think he understood that he cared. It was a great ending to the series. I will miss Eli, lol. I do think it"d be cool to maybe see Enoch with his own story... maybe. *winks* Lol! It'd. Be pretty awesome....

Consume continues to amaze the reader with a whole new world, a world with Devourers. Eli is one of the sweetest male characters that Shelly has written and Clara is his perfect fit. And Eli's tongue and eyebrow piercing? Can you say hot?? Shelly takes us into the darker side of the Devourers and introduces us to all of these fantastical new creatures that will rock your face off. Great ending book to a short but fabulous series.

Consume is exciting. There's lots of twists to Clara and Eli's adventure. Even though Enoch is a pain, he grew on me in this book. The guy is funny, I'll give him that.
