McKenna Preston had to step up and be the ‘mom’ of the house when her mother tragically passed away. She didn’t mind doing it, helping her younger sister, being the responsible one to set a good example. When her father is almost taken from her suddenly years later, she realizes that nothing has changed from when she was a kid. She’s still the responsible one holding everyone together while her own life is passing her by.

Dr. Jeremy Reid never expected a chance meeting on the golf course would put him face to face with the woman he was meant to spend the rest of his life with. But to do that, he has to get her to see that she can finally step back and let her family care for themselves. That it’s her turn for some happiness. If only he can do it without turning her away.

Mckenna and Jeremy met under stressful circumstances, her father’s heart attack. He is lucky his golf partner that day was a doctor who brought him back to life. She discovered he was also her father’s next-door neighbor when the cat escaped, and she had to find it or tell dad she lost his cat. She found him at Jeremy’s place next door. They both had that initial reaction of when you think you’ve found someone special, and don’t want to mess it up so you tread lightly. It took some time and first move by McKenna but through it all the battled the mother from hell (Jeremy’s mom not exactly a model of motherly love) and Mckenna’s younger sister (Molly, the nothing I do is my fault unless its good for me, and if its bad I’m just so misunderstood type of person.) It all works out in the end and Jeremy and McKenna get their HEA. A good story with 2 loving families that have had some tragedy in their lives and maybe didn’t deal with it as they should have but as best, they could at the time. Well written, fast paced and over before I knew it.

This is a very beautiful love story. Jeremy was in the right place at the right time and was able to save McKenna’s father when he had a heart attack. When Jeremy meets Mckenna, he knows there is something special about her but there is also sadness. Sadness from the past. Can Jeremy help McKenna heal, or will she be the one saving him from his past?
Natalie Ann never disappoints. She once again brings us everything family. Heartache, Anxiety, Acceptance, Laughter, and lots of Love. This is my favorite series.
This book can be read as a standalone or in series order.

McKenna and Jeremy met after he saved her father, but despite her obvious gratitude they had a romantic connection from the beginning. If only she can get past constantly bailing out her self centered younger sister Molly and accepting her father can handle more than she thinks before she loses Jeremy. Jeremy has his own issues with his mother and what happened to his sister, but he tries to be supportive while pushing McKenna to put herself first for a change. It was great to catch up with previous characters in the series.

This was a good read, though Molly drove me absolutely nuts! That means the author did a good job of character building. Molly was a pretentious little brat who never grew up and thought the world owed her everything. Her father and McKenna were always bailing her out - and that kind of drove me nuts that McKenna couldn't see it for what it was (she kept enabling her sister, even to the point of it interfering with her relationship with the doctor who saved her father's life).

Great character building and good story.

McKenna and Jeremy's story was such an emotional story, with a well deserved happy ending. Both have suffered a terrible loss in their lives, which have shaped them into the people that they are. Another well written story by Natalie Ann in the Paradise Place series.

Jeremy and McKenna met when Jeremy saves her father's life after suffering a heart attack while on the golf course. Chasing her father's cat when it escapes, she comes face to face with Jeremy now realizing that the doctor who saved her father's life is actually his neighbor. Jeremy and McKenna feel the chemistry between them but decide to take things slowly. As their relationship builds, Jeremy helps McKenna see she doesn't have to be responsible for everyone in her life but live her life for herself. Jeremy and McKenna both suffered tragedies but find the HEA they both deserve.

Another great one by Natalie Ann!
