Three men never expected love to wreak so much havoc in their lives.
In Marked, Darkness & Light's Sean Holloway is on a mission — to find the perfect gift for the woman of his dreams. When all conventional choices turn out to be the wrong ones, each failed attempt convinces Sean his self-imposed task is impossible. But in the world of the Holloway Pack, anything is possible if it can be kept a secret.
In Misguided, Little White Lies's Wyatt Moreland is hot on the trail of a wanted man when a rumor about his fiancée halts his progress. His desire to keep her safe wars with her need to be involved in his work and could derail their entire wedding unless he finds out the truth before she does.
In Tempted, The Glass Man's Liam Kane made a promise to the fae he loves never to use his power to harm others. When a horrific event angers him, the energy boiling inside seduces him into walking a dark path. He has but one resist his own nature or give up the one he loves.
Will the three men make the right choices? Or will their actions destroy their futures with the women they love?
Jocelyn is an office grunt by day and creator of romance and adventure by night. Born a farmer’s daughter with a vivid imagination, she spent her childhood dreaming up stories that remained untold until 2010.
With no formal training, she relied on the honest feedback of her writing group to take her from that first short story all the way to THE END of her first novel. She now has ten published novels and is working on two more for Entangled Publishing.
When she isn’t slinging words, you can find her kayaking or enjoying the serenity of family life in her little house in the woods.
Another good paranormal anthology by some talented authors featuring three stories told from the males' point of view. It would seem some males do have romantic bones in their bodies.
Marked by J.A. Belfield Content: A Pack Howl (4/5) Heat: Flirty (1/4) Pages:15 He's on a mission, a critical one that can't be messed up. Sean, a werewolf, has to get something for Jem, his mate, but she can't know. With his brother's help, he comes up with such a romantic solution ... aahhhwww.
Misguided by Aimee Laine Content: A Pack Howl (4/5) Heat: Flirty (1/4) Pages:17 Wyatt is suddenly beset by doubts over the ring he picked for Charley when Stuart implies it looks like it was "bought by an eighteen year old with his meager savings." Cael wants to ask Lily to marry him but hasn't even been on a date with her. Wyatt leads an FBI paranormal team and one of the most wanted is after his Charley. Action filled with romantic feelings interlaced.
Tempted by Jocelyn Adams Content: A Pack Howl (4/5) Heat: Steamy (2/4) Pages:12 His Lila is Seelie Fae and Liam is Unseelie Fae - forbidden to each other, their people's enemies, even more so because of their positions. She "[melts him] into a puddle of want and need."
Each one of these short stories had me wanting to read more about the characters and to know where to find the rest of the characters' stories so I can read them too.
Includes an eight page preview of J. A. Belfield's Darkness & Light, a fourteen page preview of Aimee Laine's Little White Lies and a ten page preview of Jocelyn Adams The Glass Man - books which tell the stories of some of the characters in these short stories. They were on my to-read list but now I guess I need to move them much higher because after reading these shorts, these have become a must-read for me.
An adorable novella!!! Here we see our very own sexy Sean on a mission to keep a secret from Jem... His antics prove to be a little off-hand in Jem's eyes so he has to convince her to trust him! We see Ethan being his 'cheeky' gorgeous self and providing Sean with an idea...
A fun read that leads to something permanent and serious. Loved it!!!
I have read, loved, and raved about all three of these women's books! I was so excited to get to read more about Sean and Jem (from Darkness and Light), Wyatt and Charley (from Little White Lies), and Liam and Lila (from The Glass Man)! And I was still excited after I was finished! I'm defintiely excited for more books by these three very talented ladies! :D
The three short stories were fabulous! I think that you'll probably want to read the books these characters are from first though because all three of these short stories take place afterwards...so you might get a tad spoiled if you read them first! If you don't mind spoilers, I still think you could enjoy these stories. They're sweet, adorable, romantic...and sexy. ;) They all bring something different to the anthology, yet they share a few similarities...one of those being the fact that they're all narrated by sexy men. ;) I'm a sucker for male POVs, so I loved this, especially since I already love all three of these guys! :D
In Marked, Sean is a nervous wreck, and he's so adorable when he's like that! Although to be honest, I love Sean all the time, he's made of awesome, seriously, I love him to bits! Not only do I love Sean, but I also love him with Jem, and this is an adorable story about the two of them! I'm already counting down the days for more books with Sean and Jem in them...I just can't get enough! They have fantastic dynamics! Jem is feisty and Sean is determined...and oh so strong (although his sexy brother Ethan is probably even stronger...but that's another story ;D haha), and together they're hilarious, and they just fit together. I love it!
In Misguided, Wyatt's so protective, and he's also nervous, for slightly similar reasons to Sean, but also some deadlier ones. Wyatt works with the FBI, and in this story, he's on the trail of a mimic who has an uncanny way of getting away every time! He's concerned for Charley's safety...but he's also worrying about some more trivial matters. I'll let you find out about them when you read it, but I thought it was cute. He's such a confident guy, but Charley puts him on edge, and he's always trying to do things for her. Charley and Wyatt are another awesome couple. They've gone through tonnes, and I'm glad that they'd gotten to where they are. :D
Finally, in the last story of the anthology, Tempted, Liam starts off by visiting Lila. Oh, boy. The beginning of this one was pretty steamy...I won't lie, Lila and Liam have some super sexy times together, so I wasn't too shocked that they had some fun in this short story. ;) They have some seriously hot chemistry, so it was definitely a sexy read, and for one wasn't disappointed...and Lila and Liam weren't either. :P This short story was more than just sex though. It actually became quite dark, and you get to see the darker side of Liam, one he's trying desperately to resist. I loved this one, too, and I love Liam and Lila together! They were my favourite part of The Glass Man, they're fantastic together! :D
All three of these stories are definitely leading into sequels for the first books in their series, and I'm so thrilled to see where they're all headed! This anthology is pretty short, but it packs quite the punch, and it's a great tease that gives you a bit more of the characters you love...I know I've been craving more of them all, so this anthology was perfect! :D
I was quite looking forward to getting a chance to read this collection being I had read the three debut novels associated with the characters in each of the tales. Curious to get a feel for what the common thread would be, I dove in. The tales were short enough, that I managed to complete the collection in one evening of reading, which was actually nice with the hectic schedule I seem to have going of late.
In an effort to be fair to each of the included shorts, I thought it best to visit each individually.
Marked by J. A. Belfield:
In this short, we get a chance to see the relationship between Darkness and Light main characters, Sean and Jem from Sean’s perspective. The story finds them at the conclusion of the novel with Sean trying in his werewolf chic way to propose to Jem. I really enjoyed getting a deeper look into Sean’s psyche in this short and I found the plot issues really believable in an urban fairy tale sort of way, which only added to the authenticity of the storytelling. This was a sweet and romantic winner for me.
Misguided by Aimee Laine:
This tale gives us a chance to check in with Wyatt Moreland and Charley Randall where Ms. Laine’s novel, Little White Lies leaves off. While the novel is written from Charley’s perspective, here we get a chance to sit inside Wyatt’s head. All of the other characters who brought the novel to life are also present in Misguided. A bonus for me, as it was one of the high points of the book for me. The story reads as a precursor to the second book in the Mimics of Rune series by giving the reader a glimpse at the troubles to come for the shape shifters and their FBI cohorts. Once again, I just loved the interplay between all the characters, and focus on the friendships in this story. Ms. Laine left enough teasers to get me drooling for the next book, which looks to focus on two of the shape shifters in their clan, Lily and Cael. Looking forward to that one for sure.
Tempted by Jocelyn Adams
I absolutely loved The Glass Man, so was anxiously looking forward to another visit with Lily and Liam. I wasn’t the least bit disappointed. Like the other two tales, the story picks up the main characters of the authors novel at the close, and comes from the perspective of the leading man in the romantic relationship. Since Tempted is presented from Liam’s perspective, the story gives us a nice deep glimpse into the Unseelie side of the fae. Liam has to deal with some internal strife that summons forth his darker nature. Everyone knows I love a leading man with a dark side, and like in the novel, Liam delivers. Suffice to say I’d let him stare me down any day. I found myself disappointed when this short came to an end.

Into The Unknown is a very short sweet anthology that introduces you to the writing styles and characters of Jocelyn Adams, J.A. Belfield, and Aimee Laine. I found each of the stories enjoyable, which for me is an unusual occurrence, as I have found most anthologies have at least one story that I generally do not care for and this one did not. The writing was fresh and each story represented a perfect teaser for me to want to read more of these authors' work. The end of the anthology included previews of other works that I will definitely be interested in looking into. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the paranormal genres who enjoys a short read introducing fresh new writers and I also anticipate a little heating up in the longer novels.
I have rated this read as an anthology 5 stars. It is not a full length novel, but each story does have a resolution that leaves you wanting to know more about these characters.
I received this book as a gift from the author with no remuneration other than my enjoyment of the read with a request for my honest opinion.
Yay just received this early trough a giveaway! I can't wait to learn what happens to Jem and Sean next!
14/11 update:
So I read the first story, Marked from J.A. Belfield. This story was the sole reason I wanted to have this Ebook! (I don't really read Ebooks, only when the book isn't in print and I have to read it!) I loved Darkness & Light and of-course I had to know what happens next in the life of Jem and Sean!
This short story is from Sean's POV. Just like Fated Encounter. It's a fun little read and really enjoyable.
I think I'll read Misguided and Tempted (The other short stories in the Ebook) as soon as I've read Little White Lies and The Glass Man.
I've already had the pleasure of reading the other two stories in this collection, and like everything else I've ever read from J. A. Belfield & Aimee Laine, I finished with a swelled heart and a big smile on my face - along with a long session of begging and pleading for more.
From the point of view of their heros, these stories give a terrific glimpse into their sides of their respective stories. What could be better than more Sean Holloway and Wyatt Moreland?
If you loved Darkness & Light and Little White Lies, this is a must have.
This is a great collection of three short stories that follow the first novel in each author's series (Halloway Pack, Mimics of Rune, and Lila Gray). I have only read two of the three preceding novels, but I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories--and, I'm now excited to read that third novel! The first chapter(s) of each preceding novel is also included with this collection--to wet your appetite even more! I'm thrilled with these three authors and I can't get enough of the unique worlds, wonderful characters, and intense relationships that they've created.
This analogy of three stories which share a common symbol--rings. Unlike the first efforts in the series, the authors have swapped the central characters from the leading lady to their male counterparts. It adds another dimension to the characters and a delightful flavor to their works.
Marked ( Holloway Pack #1.5 ) by J.A. Belfield -- What would you do as an encore if you discovered your lover from a pervious life? Can you give a woman something to wear when her shape and size changes once a month? Sean attempt to figure it out is quite entertaining.
Misguided (Mimic of Rune #1.5) by Aimee Laine -- Shape shifters in the FBI. Yes, and it gets complicated when two of them fall for each other. Can they do their job and protect the one they love? Read it and find out.
Tempted (Lila Gray #1.5) by Jocelyn Adams -- When Light meets Dark in the Faerie world things don't go smoothly. Romeo and Juliet they aren't, but love reigns. Take a look for yourselves to see how they make it work.
This is a novella of six stories by the following authors: J.A. Belfield, Aimee Laine, and Jocelyn Adams. These are to support the debut novel for each of the authors. These novellas definitely peaked my interest. I have questions that I need answered. As I finished each story I kept saying "oh come on, I want to know what happens next". If you are looking for some new authors to read, I would add this book and these authors to your TBR list. Then you will need to add their debuts as well so that the questions we have can be answered. This is what makes a good book, we want more. I give "Into the Unknown..." 4 1/2 stars.
I loved this short story. I really enjoy reading the stories from Sean's point of view. And what guy hasn't had the difficulty of picking out the perfect gift for his lady? And I really loved how this story answered my question about where Sean and Jem's tattoos came from in book 2.
I gave a quick review of the other two stories and them seemed intriguing enough that I may just have to check out these series too!
I actually only read the first short story from JA Belfield. I haven't read anything of the other authors yet so I don't want to spoil myself by reading those short stories.
I did enjoy the short story. It does give us some more insight, although i did wonder at some of Sean's descisions in this short story. I also think it was a bit boring, there wasn't much happening, but all in all it was just an enjoyable read that gave us another piece of the story.
Of the three short stories I only read the one about Liam from the Lila Grey series by Joselyn Adams. I thought it was ok as I was reading it but then I got the end...And nothing got resolved. I am hoping the mystery driving this tale will be concluded in book 2 of the Lila Gray series or at least mentioned. Otherwise this rating might go down to a 1 or 2.
