While it was interesting reading some of the weird and wonderful proverbs you don't hear much anymore, this book would have been vastly improved by some more indepth commentary about the origin and meaning of the proverbs. What context given is trite, uninformative and in some cases downright inaccurate. A shame, because this had the potential to be incredibly interesting, engaging and informative.

well I learnt a few new proverbs
