The Worst Best Man is, quite frankly, pure gold and I'm almost certain I hyperventilated from all the feels. Also, Lucy wrote an extended epilogue which is free on book funnel!

If you like "smart" romance (á la Penny Reid), a good laugh, and an all-around feel-good book, then this is a must-read.

DNF @41%

I tried. I really did. In fact, I picked it up again after abandoning it at 11%. Welp. Still didn't get any better for me.

I bought this book after it had been recommended in a few reading groups I was in on Facebook. I also read reviews touting this as a modern Pride & Prejudice. Also, people keep saying this was so funny.

I love P&P and I love funny books. Unfortunately, The Worst Best Man didn't live up to its promise.

I think the P&P comparison was misplaced. This was nothing like P&P at all. The rom-com aspect was also debatable. I did not find this book funny at all. It's not my kind of humor. If you like The Hangover 3 type of humor then you'll probably enjoy this book. I wasn't a fan. Catfights and girls insulting each other was never funny to me. To a 12-year old boy, it'd probably be hilarious but not to me.

I also disliked almost everyone except for Pru and Chip. The two main characters bored me to tears. He was a generic, gorgeous billionaire with family issues who called the heroine a stripper because "she dances like she's got experience" whatever that means. And she's a generic, gorgeous girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is not like other girls. The other tried to make this distinction by continually harping about how the heroine is curvy and dark-haired while the "other girls" are blondes, thin, and crazy. Their animosity for each other was contrived and their banter grated on my nerves mostly because it felt inorganic and forced.

I really have an issue with how awful the other women (that wasn't the heroine or the best friend) were written. I've come to hate the girls-versus-other-girls in romance. Just stop perpetuating harmful stereotypes about women. It's even more jarring since the other men in the book weren't treated the same way. Oh sure, the heroine and hero made comments about them being overgrown fratboy but the hate and disdain were deserved for the other female characters. I am tired of it.

And then there's the plot. I mentioned The Hangover and it's kind of like that and it wasn't even well done. It was just juvenile and so not funny.

By the time, the hero and the heroine got it on I was ready to quit. So I did.

This year I have been trying to read more new to me authors and it's really paid off. I've found a lot of new favorites and a lot of fun books. The Worst Best Man was my first book by Lucy Score and it was a lot of fun. I loved listening to the audio book.

Franchesca is the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding. She loves her best friend dearly, as well as the groom. The rest of the wedding party, though? They're pretty awful. Rich, vapid, and shallow. Everything Frankie is not. Then there is the richest of the richest, best man Aiden Killbourn. He may be rich, but Aiden is a great guy. Frankie just has trouble seeing it at first. Frankie and Aiden butt heads and when they have to work together to save the wedding they're involved in, they get to know each other a little bit better.

Aiden and Frankie couldn't be more different. Aiden is a rich and successful businessman from Manhattan, and Frankie works full time, goes to grad school, and lives in Brooklyn. It's almost like two different worlds. The thing I loved best about Frankie is that she was always 100% herself. She was stubborn, had no filter, and told it like it was. Aiden is a strong hero also, just strong enough to handle her. I loved the two of them together. I laughed out loud several times. This was a swoony, sexy, and fun couple.

This romance was smart, funny, and left me with a big smile on my face. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I would definitely recommend listening to this audio book.

My 1st book by this author, and definitely not my last 😉

Different story, very different heroine (not a typical virginal wallflower they sell us in every 2nd romance) and surprisingly slightly different hero.

TBH I struggled a bit with the story till about 40%, the whole wedding/kidnapping plote was too messy. But after they found the groom and married their friends, came back home and started their 'game', I liked it a lot.

Very unlikable side characters 😖. All rich people were arrogant spoiled a$$holes. It was too much. I don't believe the wealth spoil every one, surely there are still decent rich people. I didn't like h's/H's friends. Ugh!

The heroine was my star in this book. Stubborn, unapologetic, sassy, smart, hilarious and, IMO, strong. I didn't support all her decisions and doings, but compared to this typical romantic heroine, who wets her pants and drools over the hero, this one was like a chocolate cake after a long diet.

She was not for everyone, she was very different and they could interpret her character in many ways. I decided to like her. Statement.

"Newsflash. You don’t buy me, asshole. You earn me."

The hero was ok. Nothing new. But he had feelings and showed his vulnerability. Sign me up! So tired of so called alphas, who bark orders and in general don't give a shit what woman wants. This one wasn't perfect and he annoyed me sometimes, but he was human - and I like my heros human.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars and then I thought about that wallflower...

4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Uh-uh. You’re going to kiss me when I say you can kiss me. I’m not a ‘submit to the alpha’ kind of girl. I’m a ‘kick him in the balls and take what I want’ woman."

I'm in LOVE!!!

Sometimes good things come in multiples.

That also counts towards great books back to back. I remember seeing The Worst Best Man mentioned in our FB group on a rec post and downloaded it through KU, but didn’t really think about it anymore. Today, I picked it up and was immediately sucked in.

Lucy Score is a new to me author, but boy is she GOOD!!! She managed to balance the witty, snarky, and smart-mouthed characters I adore, with a story that was refreshingly different.

But honestly, it’s all about the characters for me.

Franchesca Baranski was my kind of girl. A smart-mouthed girl from Brooklyn, taming Aiden Kilbourn Manhattan’s most eligible unicorn bachelor with a down to earth personality, spunk, fearlessness, and a careless attitude towards all things society. He was enchanted by her from the very first moment they met, and couldn’t get her out of his head. Unfortunately he made a wretched first impression and had to bring out the big guns to get back into her good graces, aka her pants.

Frankie was EVERYTHING I love in a heroine. She managed dicey situations with aplomb and in her own fashion. Her family was the hoot. She was smart, confident and utterly entertaining. She literally opened her mouth and I already was grinning. There is not much that I love more than witty dialogues and characters that aren’t afraid of being themselves, including loud, sarcastic and someone that always stands up for friends.

Getting further into the novel, Frankie and Aiden had a great grasp of each other. They understood one another, and were able to discern certain mannerisms and traits in each other. For me nothing is more annoying than petty misunderstandings, rash decisions, and emotional meltdowns between couples that are supposed to love each other or even be soulmates. In this novel the author created a couple that worked, made sense, and was meant to be together.

Frankie and Aiden were a delight together.

And OMG they had scoring and HOT chemistry. WOWZER!!! I was turned on, hot and bothered and pretty much goo whenever they got it on between the sheets, on the sofa, in the limo, office, and music room. Sizzle!!!!

There were more than a couple scenes where I wanted to shout from the rooftops how much I enjoyed this book. I had the urge to talk to someone about it, maybe even message the author telling her how happy her book made me. I did neither.

Except now, I’m telling you all, that this delightful, adorable, swoony, just wonderfully entertaining novel should be on your reading list. The Worst Best Man, is the best example of being funny, without turning into a rom-com. And I LOVED it!!

Overall Opinion: Meh. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it either. It was alright for what it was, but to be completely honest I wasn't expecting a new favorite -- so there's that at least 🤷🏻‍♀️ The h ticked me off with her pushing away throughout the whole book, and the pacing seemed slow at times. A lot goes on in the book though! I kept on thinking that I misread or misinterpreted the page count on this and that it would end soon, and then it kept going. The ending felt lackluster to me even with the extended epilogue that I downloaded. Overall, just an okay 3 Stars.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Frankie and Aiden's story. They meet when Frankie is maid of honor and Aiden is the best man at their best friend's wedding. Aidan doesn't make a good first impression, and even though the attraction is strong Frankie doesn't forgive easily. After some crazy wedding events, they end up having a hot night together before returning home. Aiden isn't ready for it to be over yet, so he proposes a temporary fling that Frankie agrees to. There is some job and family drama, some sexy times, and some funny moments...and they get a HEA.

POV: This alternated between focusing on Frankie and Aiden in 3rd person narrative.

Overall Pace of Story: Okay. It did feel slow at times, but I never skimmed.

Instalove: No. Instalust? Yes.

H rating: 4 stars. Aiden. I liked him. He was sweet and I liked how he cared for the h.

h rating: 3 stars. Frankie. I liked her but then I didn't. I didn't like the way she constantly pushed the H away.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes!

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes, but mild

Closure: This had an okay ending with alright closure. I would say it was a HEA , but I still didn't feel like we got enough of their future to make me happy. I downloaded the free extended epilogue, and it still didn't feel like enough! I didn't care about their business ventures -- I wanted to have more for their relationship!!

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

I just can't even... I really don't know what to say. Definitely, not my cuppa! Too much silliness is happening, too much chaos and too many OTT characters. It's not my kind of humor, either. I only liked the bride & the groom (side characters). The other side characters are mostly awful. The hero and heroine didn't make much sense to me, either. There was some good banter between them, but I was unable to enjoy it without feeling the chemistry between the characters...

I dropped the book once, then I picked it up again a few hours later and tried again. Then I dropped it 15-20 minutes later, feeling awfully bored. Still, I thought it might get better for me and tried it the day after. Nope, not happening! This is now my third and last DNF of it.

I most probably don't make sense at all, so let's just say this is not my type of book...

P.S. If you enjoy films like Hangover, you may enjoy this book, as well. It just isn't for me.

I saw someone on Twitter tweeting about this, that this was inspired by Pride and Prejudice, so I had to check it out because duh. Pride and Prejudice. Whether said person praised this or not is a different story.

So hmmmm. Where do I start?
The good part, I suppose.

Pru and Chip, for one. I'm sure they're the equivalent of the Jane Bennet and Charles Bingley in this Pride and Prejudice-inspired (no, I will not call it a modern-day Pride and Prejudice) novel. But they're the least annoying couple, and the least troublesome?

The Baranski Family. I love the brothers and Frankie's family!

Now on to the not-so-good parts...
The first 20% of the book was a mess. The whole wedding made me shake my head so much. I wasn't expecting to have that much drama at the start of the story, and something that's honestly absurd and unnecessary. The story slows down after that whole drama, and it kind of becomes boring when you compare it to the scenes that happened before.

The slut-shaming and pitting women against women. This is the one that bothered me the most. There were dialogues and scenes that tried to show the characters being ahead of their time and showing feminist traits, but it all falls flat when it immediately follows scenes and dialogues that insult the other female characters excluding the heroine and her best friend. The female characters who aren't Franchesca and Pru are mean, vapid, and fake. I don't remember a female character apart from Francheska and Pru that have been described in a decent light.

The couple. I didn't feel anything for them at all. Aiden, the Mr. Darcy of the story (but I refuse to see him as a man close enough to be even compared to Mr. Darcy), says Frankie looks like a stripper, is a bachelor by choice (he prefers no strings), and honestly, I'm starting to forget already. And Frankie isn't even better. She comes off as selfish and insensitive at times, not at all like Elizabeth Bennet, the strong heroine she was inspired by.

So, that's pretty much it. It had potential, but in the end, fell flat for me. Will I try another Lucy Score book? Definitely. I don't know if it's because I'm obsessed with Pride and Prejudice and judge P&P-inspired books on a microscopic level, but just because this didn't work for me doesn't mean I'm completely closing my doors on the author.

🙄 for the 30%…. I just don’t see how this is funny!

I guess comedy, like beauty, is VERY much in the eye of the beholder. I saw this book recommended over and over again in numerous different Facebook groups. It currently has almost 7000 five star reviews on GR, with an overall rating of 4.24. All the reviewers say that they were laughing out loud. I, on the other hand, struggled to find the funny and gave up at 30%.

Interesting take on Pride & Prejudice

First thing first, thank you Lovely Alex for bringing this book to my notice.

Now, I may be wrong, but to me this seemed like a retelling of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
Of course Aiden being Mr Darcy and Frankie being Elizabeth.
I'd call Pru and Chip, Jane & Bingley, though seriously speaking? They reminded me of Lydia and Wickham.
However in this book, I'd say, the pride element was really more a backbencher, whereas the prejudice was very apparent, however, in my honest opinion? NOT uncalled for.
Aiden doesn't give out a vibe of manwhore, however, he doesn't strictly have a moral compass either. He may have changed his mind because HE was in too deep, but his initial plan was to have a fling with Frankie, KNOWING it'll end in short while and Frankie might be hurt. He simply didn't give a flying fuck because HE wanted it, and god forbid if he doesn't get something he wanted.
He WAS as bad as his half brother, the only difference? If he committed felony? He wouldn't have been caught.
He also attended a "classy strip club" for the bachelor part, AFTER meeting and having wet dreams of heroine! As I was saying, non-existent moral compass.
Also, WHO in their right mind calls ANYONE a stripper at their friend's engagement party? That was just unforgivable, he needed to face bodily harm! However, I have a feeling what Frankie did with her no nonsense attitude one minute and caring attitude the next was far more effective and he was pretty much shocked into submission.

The worst part of the book? That forced me to round it down to 3 stars from 3.5? A character call Pruitt, who sounds like an STI! This is at 61%
But you have got to quit the Frosty the Bitch Queen routine before you ruin something amazing.
I’m sorry, did I miss something? Or are we talking about the same guy who very clearly pointed out he only wants temporary, EVEN IF it was a committed relationship? WHY is it such a crime if WOMEN are guarding their heart? WAS this bitch present when Aiden pretty much insinuated that Frankie was to be his shiny new toy? And offered her that she can have everything? How is that better than offering a price? Frankie is looking for a partnership and THE ONE, he starts with the line "it'll never be marriage". Now would he never get married? Of course he will. He's almost like an heir to the throne. But even at that point he can't think of marriage as a commitment, he's thinking of it as business deal and will marry whoever daddy dearest chooses for him! Now I am not going to castrate him yet, because he's already coming around, but WTF does this judgemental bitch know? Does she know how it feels to be living pay cheque to pay cheque? or how to work on two jobs while studying? This bitch needed to die!

This bitch is the one who started to make Frankie doubt her worth and self confidence!
“He’s done everything for me, and all I’ve done is reject him.”
Ummm....No, your friend PRU is a bitch who probably doesn’t have to think about anything because daddy has chequebook and hubby has trust fund!

at 62%, our hero is almost in love and poor snowflakes is hurt, and this gibberish comes out of his mouth:
"this is the one thing I have to offer you"
The ONE thing he has to offer her is money, and she’s the frosty bitch to treat him with caution? THIS is the amazing thing PRU thinks she’s throwing away? PRU is a best friend who needs to be swallowed by black hole. With friends like this who the fuck needs enemies?

Then the masterstroke, because heroine has self respect and is angry FOR you you ungrateful bitch, she decides, oh I don't have any, why should she! This is her reply to Frankie suggesting she'd not be able to forgive Chip ever (rightfully so, A fucking GROWN man dumps his girlfriend because he is doubtful because his BFF told him so????).
"And where would I be then? Not married to a man who makes me laugh every day"
May be you’ll have self respect, some usefulness and a better man who ACTUALLY works for a living and loves you for who you are and can make his own decisions? Who can think for himself? What’d you do if this amazing funny husband of yours have a new manipulative best friend who thinks the baby right now isn’t a good idea? Even Jane didn’t forgive Mr Bingley THIS easily or BEFORE both him and Darcy humbled themselves!

"married some boring guy who let me call every shot
Bitch, do you know the words “partnership” & “balanced”? Not being dominated and discarded by an asshole and then getting back when it suits HIM doesn’t mean roughshodding over a doormat, She makes it sound like ONE of the spouses will have to be a doormat for it to be a happy relationship! You know what? This woman was NOT her friend. I think she’s jealous of Frankie, her independent and self respect, so she’s trying to brainwash her into a doormat JUST like herself. Frankie needs to dump this piece of shit!

Now moving on, I loved Frankie, and her brothers! This woman was a no nonsense superwoman. We need more woman like this and I know she isn't everyone's kind of woman.
Yes, her sexual experience completely gotten overshadowed by Aiden, however, she WAS experienced, she DID enjoy sex and she DID have prior orgasms. The effects of Aiden on her was actually smaller than her hold on Aiden, so I could completely look past it.

I didn't mind her running from Aiden the morning after, but I personally think she should have dumped him back at mainland because I'm willing to bet he'd have flied her over in a private jet! But she did do the right thing. Aiden DID need the chase UNTIL he forced himself to figure out what he wanted. If they gotten into a habit, He'd just have taken her for granted and it would have taken a seriously heartbroken Frankie and severely physically damaged Aiden (her brothers would have carried him out in bodybag) to find their HEA.

I didn't like a lot of her decisions. Yes, but they were not my decisions, and I still respected her.

I loved how her brothers were protective of her, but also treated her equally. They were also incredible friend to Aiden. Their bond is another fucking reason I just never understand WHY the fuck brothers's bff, or bff's brother has to be a forbidden relationship. Your loyalty doesn't have to divided. It was SO apparent that Aiden was really missing the family bond, which he probably would've loved to form with Eliott IF either him or their father gave them a chance. He was extremely respectful towards them. And he probably would've let them beat up into a pulp without defending himself.

I absolutely LOVED how neither Frankie, nor his brothers doubted Aiden's fidelity. They truly accepted him as a part of themselves.

Usually female MC grovelling doesn't work for me. But it was called for in this. Frankie IS way stronger than Aiden. Period. By her going to patch things up, and showing a little vulnerability balanced out Aiden's weaknesses a little. She deserved a stronger man. However, Aiden truly loved her by the end, so I think I'll be happy for her.

I ended up enjoying this even though I didn't like the hero's past with OW- he came across as a slutty serial monogamist. There wasn't anything special for the heroine that he hadn't already done with his many exes. He met most of his exes parents, slept with the h in the same places he slept with the exes, etc. I loved the heroine- she was strong and smart! They did end up being a sweet couple and I did believe in his love for her.

4.25 stars. I really love Lucy's characters. Aiden and Frankie are among my favorite couples. I just loved them. I had a hard time keeping my attention on them at the beginning of the book.
The first 25% was the destination wedding of Pru and Chip - their best friends. It took me a while to realize that it was on Barbados. Not much about the scenery. A LOT about the local color. IMO, it just didn't work. I would have liked Frankie and Aiden having a meet cute. Sparks flying THEN have the shenanigans all over the island. I had a hard time staying interested. I wish that there was more focus on the setting and Aiden and Frankie's attraction.
I really loved Pru. What a great friend. She was getting married and Frankie was the one that was all over the place. They're best friends so I did love their loyalty to each other.
The 2nd half of the book is where it got good for me. Sometimes a book will have a strong beginning and a saggy middle. In this case, the middle and end were the best parts. I loved to read about how in love Aiden is with Frankie.
I enjoyed Frankie's family. Her brothers, Gio and Marco are a crack up.
I found myself comparing this story (just a little) to Pride & Prejudice:
Frankie ---> Elizabeth
Aiden ---> Mr Darcy
Chip ----> Mr Bingley
Pru ----> Jane
Elliot ----> Mr Wickham (grrr)
May Frankie's mom ----> Mrs Bennet
Frankie's dad -----> Mr Bennet
and so on........
I liked Frankie but I really loved Aiden. He was "All In" when it came to Frankie. So devoted and in love. Frankie had a little ways to go to be ready and deserving of Aiden. That was a big switch. It ended up working but Frankie- so stubborn.
Great HEA & there's a link to a bonus epilogue.

I loved this book!

Frankie and Aiden are GOALS people! Their chemistry, romance, and love was on fire. I'm so sad that this book is over right now. I already miss the crap out of them.

The Worst Best Man is about Frankie and Aiden, obviously.. since I already mentioned them. They meet at a wedding, where Frankie is the maid of honor for her best friend Pru's wedding. From this, she meets Aiden who is the best man for Chip. There are a bunch of spoiled rotten people in this wedding party, including Aiden.. but with Frankie's sass she made this wedding so enjoyable. Hell, the entire book she was my lovable spitfire girl. I want to grow up and be like her.

Now of course something goes wrong way before the wedding happens and there's also some twists and backstabbing going on throughout the book as well. HOWEVER, the romance and chemistry between Aiden and Frankie was forever. God, I really did love these two. They were so mature and I just loved their fun bantering.

One thing I didn't like about this book was when Frankie mentioned "Tequila over Wine" - because NO that is not true. Agree to disagree on that girlfriend. Other than that I loved her. Her battle talk was hilarious at the end. I love how she had a backbone and everyone would misjudge the heck out of her.. and she would make them regret it. If Frankie was real I would be her best friend.

Overall, I loved this book (if you couldn't tell) because it was simply amazing. It was a real mature relationship with a great happy ending.

I am so torn up about this book. I want to give it a 5 stars so bad but i settle with 4 stars. This is my first read by miss Score. I first intimidated by the length of the audio book. Its nearly 12 hours long.

To my surprise i do enjoy the story very much. Aiden and Francesca are 2 characters that so much in sync with each other. They fulfill each other perfectly. Aiden is burned up hero who has the weight of his family on his shoulder. Meanwhile Francesca is running the world becoming everybody fixer. She is also under appreciated. Taken for granted. So when their world collides, so is the explosion.

Their romance story is slowly build up. Miss Score adding many layers/ plots to the story. The secondary characters also play important part building into the climax. I do admire how miss Score creates real supporting character into secondary characters.

What make me deduct 1 star is the length of this book. Its too dragging in some part with un necessary drama.

Certainly in the future i will read another book by this author.

The Worst Best Man is a romantic comedy book filled with witty banter and funny comebacks. I guess I really loved the dialogue in this book. That beside really likable character is my favorite part of it all. I did notice that the first part of the book somewhere around 40 % and second are somewhat different in the pacing of the plot line. If not for the same leading characters it could be two different books.
Still, for my first Lucy Score's book, I am quite happy.
Also if you go on the author's site or join her newsletter you get all the extra epilogues and stuff.

Oh, crap! Lost the whole review! I'm not doing this again so here goes the very truncated version: Stupid beginning but book got better as @Jan130 pointed out. Poorly behaved people who drank too much leading too little inhibitions. Judgmental, potty-mouthed heroine who takes and takes. Hero not a bad sort and good at giving. Lovely family interactions saved it from a worse rating

DNF ~15%?

I even was in a mood for a ridiculous romance and plot (billionaire, insta-love, exotic locale, kidnapping... ) but could not go on with this book. My instinct told me to quit almost immediately: this is the second paragraph

The groomsmen, in their Armani and Brioni, were overgrown frat boys destined to spend their lives reliving their prep school glory days. Their trust funds were cushy enough to buy their way out of any real trouble.
The bridesmaids were worse. All working on landing husband number two

Yes, everybody is very judgmental - including our heroine, Frankie. I don't like being stereotyped so I certainly would not lump all the beautiful rich people together and assume they are all shallow. And the bridesmaids get nasty to each other. The dialogues are not funny.

Frankie: "Not to worry, Margie. Your odds are still excellent for luring him into your Venus Fly Trap vag."

Apparently, it gets better after the best friend's wedding, at about 40%. I will never know.

First of all—Yeah, I’m only on my 2nd LS book, but I think it’s rather safe to say I’m officially a Lucy Score fan 🥰.

Anyhoo…
While overall tWBM didn’t quite match BaT, it certainly still ticked more boxes in the positives than negatives.
✎ I loved Frankie(h). So confident, quick witted, smart, hilarious, loyal, etc. & yet she’s not perfect, but that’s a positive too imo. Her family & her interactions with them was a lot of fun, especially her brothers.
✎ I would say his positives outweighed his negatives on the whole, but it took a little while to see the likable side of Aiden(H). I never hated him, but I wasn’t crazy for how his lust for Frankie came across early on (he veered towards a little cringy) & a late choice of his, not taking the initiative to tell her something that should’ve come straight from his mouth & no one else’s. When Aiden was truly smitten with Frankie, his good guy side really shined through - he was pretty sweet & devoted to making her happy. It was cute how he gets chummy with her brothers & enjoyed being just one of the guys.
✎ I don’t think it was quite believable how who the above was about reacted. Not saying theirs should’ve been as sharp as Frankie’s reaction, but I don’t think they would’ve been so flippant is all. The “bow”, so to speak, was just a little too neat.
✎ True, at times in the first 30-40% teetered perilously towards OTT(hell, it was OTT for small stretches — not that I minded, in this case), but just the same, it was quite entertaining & comical all at once. & then Idk. Storyline-wise, tWBM was almost like 2 books in 1. It just felt like a second story with the same characters(& a slight personality shift in Aiden) when they got home from the wedding. Not a bad thing, just a little odd 🤏.
✎ I’m not sure how to put this just right because by & large, I liked how the book went —I really was often entertained —. Yet I feel like there are places where the story could’ve wrapped up sooner more than once. It’s not that the book was super long. It was just the direction of the storytelling imho. Idk if it’s the author missing the opportunity to wrap it up or unintentionally creating moments that seemed to imply the end was near(er) 🤷🏻‍♀️. It just threw me a little.

So yeah, there’s some bumps along the way, but all in all tWBM still delivers a fun ride & drew me in. There was a little action/suspense/hijinks, albeit a bit OTT, & nice tension early. Good chemistry between the h & H throughout, in both their funny banter/playfulness & steamy sexy times, along with some sweetness & a few feels in the mix. So basically more LS will certainly be found in my updates in the future.

aww shucks this is so cute, sweet, spicy, and funny as hell 😍!! It's giving me Pretty Woman vibes, but with the slowburn and passionate romance, snarky and sarcastic MCs, and hilarious and crazy side characters, it's a whole lot better. Aiden and Franchesca were my absolute favorites!! Their romance was cliché but that didn't stop me from loving them more. Argh! they were just perfect for each other. Both were stubborn, hard-headed, bold, daring, and fiery, and the constant clash of personalities just skyrocketed their chemistry. Everytime they were together, I felt giddy and warm.

This book was pretty chill. There wasn't much of an angst/drama, but I still enjoyed every bit of it. I think it's one of my comfort reads now.

This was a hilarious and filled with suspense at a best friend's wedding story. Aiden, best friend of Chip, and Frankie, best friend of Pru, met and had the most funniest way of getting to know each other.

driving

Chip was kidnapped before the day of his wedding, as a good maid of honor and (possibly) a best man, Aiden and Frankie sped the street with Antonio driving like he was in a fast furious movie. Antonio's uncle knew who had Chip. Once they had their information, Aiden and Frankie crashed someone else’s wedding and thought better of it. Frankie wanted to go back and get Chip but Aiden said to hold off. I was so confused at this point but I continued and read about Elliot, the step-brother. Elliot is the villain here.

what?

There was definitely groveling from Aiden since Frankie is so stubborn, loyal and protects herself which is understandable.

spoilers?

SHE GOT ON HER KNEES TO PROPOSED TO HIM (after she broke up with him for not being honest to her) NO!!! That is a man's job.

She is 34 and he is 40. Both grown and mature adults, so you will see no games and both are upfront as they can be. I give this book 4.2.

Now I just need to find a Aiden Kilbourn in my life and I'll be happy. He is generous, rich, funny and handsome.

I would like to start off with the fact that there is not enough stars in this galaxy to rate The Worst Best Man so here you go 5 PLUS!!!  The Worst Best Man I think is some of Lucy Score's best work to date. She delivers everything you want in a romantic comedy and more. Every page had me hysterically laughing, swooning, getting pissed off with Frankie and getting all 50 shades in my panties! Aiden Kilbourne is Manhattan's most eligible billionaire bachelor. As quoted  "The man was a freaking marvel. His orgasms probably had orgasms."  The only thing rich about Franchesca aka Frankie is the big heart she carries. Oh Frankie hails from Brooklyn and is a sweetheart but don't let her kindness fool you. That mouth on her is loud and loaded with witty but honest truth leaving her no problem telling you or anyone how it is. She is beyond beautiful and too smart for her own good. Frankie and Aiden are the bridesmaid and best man to their best friends destination wedding in Barbados. Their story only begins there but it's one you will want to read over and over.
