When man first walked the Earth, he learned that all good emotions possess the power of light. But where there is light, there is darkness. When a troubled man discovers that 'He' is The Extremis; a descendant of the light, what will he do to redeem himself and how will he defend himself against the encroaching night? This story is about one's inner demons and what would happen if they were given flesh, albeit through extreme circumstances. "He discovers that he is the bearer the light. All the good emotions in life give him strength. But on the other side of the same coin, anger and rage and hate give strength to a darkness that feeds on that light." An epic battle, light and darkness are a determining factor in this story of Redemption.
Wow! An extraordinary adventure written in poetic form! How friggin' awesome is that? I loved it! It would make an awesome novel too! It's full of tragedy, loss, love, REDEMPTION! It was interesting to see how the author weaved the story of the Extremis being made and unmade and made again. It's emotional and I found the easy flow of the story absolutely enthralling. The dark thoughts and despair the main character goes through are intense. Truly a battle of light and dark within one self with supernatural elements, which were awesome!. I highly recommend reading this, it's a fast read but stays with you long after.
And if you get the paperback, It's absolutely gorgeous!
I received this book from Goodreads First Reads and I wasn't sure about this book when I first got it but I thought it was great. Very well written and different, almost like poetry but telling a story. Good quick read
