Remember that this is a Middle Grade book. As such, the story was fairly short (just over 3 hours listening to the audiobook), fast paced & actually elicited some chuckling. Look, this group of 4 kids, a dog & a grown man-child somehow manage to get involved in stopping some shady shenanigans right smack dab in the middle of London. Also, the classic double-decker bus the aforementioned city is known to utilize. This all starts after they've just returned from a previous adventure...in Egypt...& now I want to read that one. I highly recommend you pick this up if you're currently reading or have just finished a heady/long book. It's short & speedy with a dash of sweet light-heartedness and a pinch of action. Obviously don't read this if you don't particularly care for MG (disclaimer).

I want to start off by saying I really enjoy reading "The Adventurers" its a wonderful series about these kids who go around having adventures and solving mysteries. Though, this one I didn't particularly enjoy, because, it wasn't as funny and adventurous as the other ones, the kids kept hanging by the sewers and running around the city and thats pretty much all. The part that I liked about in this book was that they kept finding interesting letters, and the mystery was still intact and clear thats why I rated this book a 3/5. I still reccommend this book though, because it is fun in some parts and you might like it! :)

London is revealed to be the ‘city of secrets’ in this adventure. What follows is a fun, action-packed chase through the city of London. Trust me, the twists and turns are fast and twisty as The Adventurers discover secret after secret.

The group manage to get their hands on a red antique double-decker bus (the one pictured on the cover) – how successful do you think they will be trying to sneak around in that thing?

I love the sense of adventure and craziness that is present throughout The Adventurers books. But behind the shenanigans, there are some really fun characters making up this book series. From responsible Lara (and her loyal dog Barney) to prankster Rufus, from steady Tom to love-struck Daisy, I think many children will see a bit of themselves in these characters.

The story is the perfect length for kids and the book is quick-paced so no one will get bored. But there is still enough time for character development and growth. Both Rufus and Daisy go through their own character growth and are both different from the start of the story to the end, but in a completely believable way. Children grow and change and it’s fun to see this progression.

I’m looking forward to when my nephew is old enough to enjoy this series with me (he’s only two right now) – storytime is going to be full of adventures!

No bez spojlerów Ania. ;p

This book was a cute YA mystery that kept my kids engaged (for the most part). We enjoyed reading it together and reading (and imagining) parts of London and its history and treasures, and the characters were enjoyable, while slightly flat, adventurous kids. Be prepared to suspend your disbelief and practicality often, and you'll find it a quick, easy, enjoyable read.

A good follow on from the first two for our young children; however, for the adults listening in the storyline and characters got a bit tired. Should have let the kids read to us!

Likeable adventure across London

The Adventurers meet another plot to steal the Egyptian treasure they had recently discovered. How will the plot be foiled?

Another Hoopla Bonus Borrow book for me. This seems like a fun middle grade series with excellent adventure. I think many kids will love it. This book takes place around Christmas time. I don't know where the "city of secrets" comes into play, though. I think my audiobook was missing some chapters at the end. The narration suddenly jumped from an underground location to an above ground one, with characters talking about events that didn't happen.
