Despite being 128 pages, this was an incredibly dense book, and much better suited for people who already have a deep understanding about South America, its people, and the geography. I found myself struggling to locate where anything was with very few maps included. There were many wonderful images of artifacts, and recreations of temples, towns, etc throughout but again without a base, a lot was lost on me. Also grouping topics into sections instead of chronologically did not help when the only timeline is at the beginning of the book.

Nice basic survey of the subject. I wanted a bit more detail on the architecture, but for a short book covering a wide topic it does well.
