I must confess that I had no idea who Phil Kingsley Jones was when I picked up this book. However, those of you that follow rugby will know that he was Jonah Lomu's former manager. Turns out that he is also a stand-up comedian and highly sought after emcee and after-dinner speaker.
"How did I manage that" is an account of Kingsley-Jones's life, from his early childhood in Wales, his rugby playing and coaching experiences, his career as a Stand-up comic touring throughout Britain, and his move to New Zealand where he became coaching director for Counties. And it was here that he met Jonah Lomu.
Kingsley-Jones describes his foray into player management and his relationship with one of New Zealand’s star rugby players. Humorous and entertaining, this book should be a must-read read whether you are a rugby fan or not.
