Nice overview of a long history! Sadly this book does not really help me with defining "what object is from which period" if I'd see one out in the wild: somehow the characteristics were explained and somehow they were not (precisely). So - it is a help in getting started on this matter, quick and easy read, but to REALLY become an expert I'll have to study tons of material more to really get the essence of each period in detail.
I liked that famous people/artists/influencers of each period were included and while I cannot remember all vividly, I now say I "heard of this name somewhere before" when it will come up somewhere again.
