One day, Willa Rabbit is the first one to wake up. She tries to make her own breakfast, but she’s too small to reach anything. Luckily, her brother, Willoughby, is older . . . and bigger . . . and he tells her about all the things she will be able to do for herself once she is big.

A gentle tale about growing up, this charmingly-illustrated picture book sets just the right tone to reassure readers both big and small.

Willa's big brother Willoughby is kind, so he answers her questions about growing up as best he can. This picture book is a sweet one.

For example, Willa worries becoming big:

"But I might not fit into my chicken slippers anymore," said Willa.

"Then you could have some hippo slippers like mine, or some pom-pom slippers like Mom's," said Willoughby.

FIVE STARS for that reassuring big brother, and also for illustrations so adorb, I wish I could eat them.

I had the companion book as a kid, so when I walked past this one the other day, I had a sudden memory of these characters. It was a cute book, but I probably wouldn't think anything of it if it wasn't for nostalgia.
