About the Saptarshi Basu, a Gold Medalist in Mechanical Engineering, has been in IT industry for last 7 years and has worked for top 3 IT companies of India. However, writing has always been first love, his passion. Love, Logic and the God’s Algorithm had been his debut novel. His second Novel, AUTUMN IN MY HEART published by Vitasta Publishing along with Times of India will be launched in November.
By Saptarshi Basu. Grade: C I had heard many praises about Mr. Basu’s debut novel Love Logic and God’s Algorithum. I was rather hoping (too intensely perhaps) that maybe this novel would turn out good and change my outlook of new Indian authors. The first few pages of the book seemed good, there were no stupid dialogues, no editing mistakes and his writing style didn’t seem bad. Close your eyes and think about your College days – What you see? Girls, Grass, N-10, Crush, Whisky, fight with seniors over a football match……and no studies…What a life!!!! Saptak’s life was based on 3G- No, not about the latest mobile technology but GUITAR, GRASS AND GIRLS””3G (let’s uncomplicate :)) Now, again close your eyes and think about your professional life. I have to admit, the back blurb wasn’t too interesting. It seemed something what a teenager would write in his diary. However, the cover is very pretty and I was pleasantly surprised. The book starts with Saptak who doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. He enjoys his life as much as he can- with his 3Gs. But unfortunately for him, he cannot make this his life. He has to have a career and has to become a professional. He and his friends together decide to open a software company themselves and proceed to make it survive and live their life. The book is mainly about Saptak’s individuality and how he finds himself. The best thing I liked about the book was that it’s different and is not some stupid high school romance, which has no meaning for the author and the reader. The book takes a much deeper and important topic of introspection and change. I liked the concept of setting a product company and managing it and making it sustain and flourish. However, I was terribly inconvenienced by the copy I received of the book. Maybe it was the only copy misprinted or maybe there are many like it. The pages are not ordered properly, you have to skip through some pages to continue the book and then again come back to the pages you missed to read. That irritated the hell out of me. It was a mood spoiler and the whole continuity of the book was ruined. You have page 17 after 18, then go on to 33 and return to 16. How would you like a book if you have to turn ten-twenty pages to search for the page which you are looking for after every five minutes. You can imagine. It lacks a great deal of editing. He has used bad English and there are a lot of punctuation mistakes. Editing (or lack thereof) seems to be the most prevalent problem in all Indian books I read. Such language and such bad editing is an insult to the art of writing a book and of reading one. Of course, the author is not to be blamed here. The editors and publishers need to work on it. The story seemed to be moving in past and present both, which was a little confusing for me. The pre-requisite of an author is that he/she must be well rehearsed in the language they are writing in. Otherwise, it spoils the book. All in all, it’s an inspiring story with little romance, strong characters and the book would have been a huge success but for the horrible editing. Mr. Basu’s ideas were really imaginative and he has great potential. With a little work on his English, the book would’ve been a success.

most disgusting book ever... i cant find any word to describe how bad it is..
damn the story... the page numbers are in order, but the not the story... its like you are in the middle of someone's story, you turn the page and you will notice that you have started someother story, which is again from the middle..
I cant think it as a printing foul, the page numbers are in order.. The language is so worse.. I googled some words for understand, but found none.. The book seems like some text book...
