Just a great book about great golfers and great golf courses. A good amount of historical background is presented by the author. Biographical info is tremendous as well.

Superb essays from a master, the greatest golf writer since Bernard Darwin. He mixes coverage of events he covers with vignettes of past heroics and tragedies.

Well, simply the best golf writer every (no offense to Bernard Darwin) musing about Royal Dornoch, The "Venturi" US Open, and so on. Love golf? Check this out.
