So many memories associated with this book. Art of Keats, combined with haiku. If you can find a copy of it, it's a wonderful book to share with children, or to read on your own when you need a quiet moment of peace.

I wasn't too sure about this book when I first opened it, but in the end, I really enjoyed it. The Haiku poems are simple, yet full of life. And Ezra Jack Keats' imagery compliments the poems, rather than overpowering them. It is a beautiful combination.

Turned a somersault
And floated away.

This book discusses (through use of haikus) several different animals and things found in nature. A lesson could be integrated between science (nature study) and language arts (poetry/haikus).
