The Complete Chiveis Trilogy

Four hundred years from now a deadly virus and nuclear war have destroyed the modern world. Those who survived have returned to a medieval-like age of swords, horses, and feudal kingdoms. Yet the breathtaking mountain realm of Chiveis lives in peace, protected from the outside empires and obedient to its own gods.

But when Teo, an army scout, and Ana, the beautiful daughter of a farmer, discover an ancient book, everything begins to change in Chiveis--old beliefs give way to new faith, persecution rises, and the kingdom's darkest secrets begin to surface.

Journey with Teo and Ana as they discover a faith that was all-but forgotten--and see for yourself how the truth can set you free.

An under-the-radar Christian fantasy trilogy that is not the Lord of the Rings. Though the Chiveis Trilogy does not measure up to the likes of Lord of the Rings, it is an excellent story that pulls at your heart-strings and courage from beginning to end. The books have the added benefit of being written by an excellent Christian scholar Bryan M. Litfin - putting the tense Christian mind at ease.

Not quite sure how the book of Revelation fits into the idea of a post-apocalyptic (without the ACTUAL apocalypse) Christian novel, but that aside, this wasn't too bad. It moved (insanely) from one climax to another and basically threw nearly every possible plot device at you that it could - but it certainly kept me reading. Something I really didn't like: this story was over-sexed. Not graphic or explicit really, just a regular and sometimes intrusive feature. Which makes the ending that much more of an anti-climax. As it were.
If you read for enjoyment, not literary edification, this trilogy is worth a read.

p.s. one thing really got to me: Ana's the most beautiful girl in the whole of Cheveis and she still didn't feel pretty until she put make-up on and shaved her legs. Not cool dude, not cool.

Love the books they are great
But don't like catholic influence
Other than that there good books
I believe Christian can enjoy them despite the Catholicism
They are more for adult or old teens
There are Some graphic scenes in the books
But I believe sometime it's need to tell story's Realistically
These books are real page turners

I enjoyed this series with a couple caveats. There is almost an obsessive focus on physical beauty. Some necessary to the plot, some that makes me think that if you are not slender, graceful and fair, you don't really deserve a role in this story. Granted there are some characters (the beloved) that don't fit that theme, but they are also often portrayed as "slow."

The second issue I had was the fact that Anna starts off so strong and deteriorates as the story progresses. Meekness if different from weakness and I had trouble seeing strength in her character- trust God not man to rescue you over and over.

The final issue is how easily the post apocalyptic discovery of God's Word immediately settles into institutionalized models of "church." I would have thought, having the Old Testament would have led them to a sacrificial system as described in the OT instead.

I think the premise alone made it worth a look and the story carried itself through to the end. I would be interested in what the author comes up with next if he continues to write.

it is amazing the author really knows how to keep the readers excited . When everything seemed to come to a close he wrenched away comfort and he never gave you what you wanted and it the books never ended the way i wanted it to . He gave you something much better.I wish the author would make more books . These books really helped my faith as a christian and i find it a shamed that such a creative author wouldn't make more books . And i wish that he would write another series of books . I really felt that the lord Jesus could use such a god bless author. He is so talented it's a pity that's he not using his talent as much as possible . I would so want to go through another of his books . If the author would be so kind to write another series I would be so happy . Lord please let this man write another book series. I personally think he is one of the best authors in the world

I read this series years ago when I was in college, and the fact that I still find everyday aspects that remind me of this story says something about the way it was written. I understand it's not everybody's preference, but I really did enjoy the action and adventure, and coupled with faith in a way I never knew it. 10/10 recommend.
