Brant Parker was an American cartoonist. He co-created and drew The Wizard of Id comic strip until passing the job on to his son, Jeff Parker, in 1997. Cartoonist Johnny Hart, his co-creator, continued writing the strip until his death on April 7, 2007.
I'm slowly learning the following: 1) I like the Wizard of Id (written by Brant Parker, drawn by Johnny Hart) better than I like B.C. (written and drawn by Johnny Hart), even though the material is very similar. I assume that means I like Brant Parker's writing better, or maybe caveman jokes just don't do it for me. 2) I don't laugh a lot while reading the Wizard of Id, but I laugh a lot 6 months/6 years later when I think about the jokes. Perhaps I find the humor a bit too dry in the moment (which is saying a lot, given that my relatives assure me I have the driest humor of anyone they know). All this is to say that that I'll probably come back in a few years and up this book's rating to 4 stars. In the meantime, I liked it and would say, "sure give it a shot" to anyone who asked.
