About the author

Dr. `Abdullah Nasih `Ulwan was born in Damascus in 1928. He studied at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, and got his BA and MA from the Faculty of Theology at Al-Azhar. He then got his PhD in Islamic studies from Pakistan. Dr. `Ulwan taught at King Abdul-Aziz University in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He has authored more than 30 books on different Islamic subjects, including:

Tarbiyat Al-Awlad fi Al-Islam.
At-Takaful Al-’Ijtima`ie fi Al-Islam.
Ta`addud Adh-Dhawjat fi Al-Islam.
Fada’il As-Siyam wa Ahkamuh.
Hukm At-Ta’min fi Al-Islam.
Huriyyat Al-`Itiqad fi Ash-Shari`ah Al-Islamiyyah.
