The best book I’ve ever read. Tons of character development, exciting illustrations that bring the story to life, and delicious cookies. I’m not sure how any other book would ever stack up to this titan of literature.
It's a great book for teaching children about shapes the fast way. Suitable for very young kid who couldn't read much yet because there's not much words in it. It's about cookie monster and his many cookie shapes, so it should always be fun! Om nom nom..
It's not all award-winners around here. My son would give this five stars; I would give it zero; let's call it two.
*** To be fair, I have to add this: there is one interesting thing about this book: in the end, after Cookie Monster has *SPOILER* eaten all the cookies he was taking to the cookie contest at the fair, he says, "Cowabunga!", causing, in this reader, a little frisson-- is Cookie quoting Bart Simpson? How odd!
This is a great book for very young children to learn there shapes. It also helps them learn how to connect what they're learning to familiar items. However, it is not the best with vocabulary and grammar.
Adorable book that I loved as child...unfortunately not a good English example for language learners. However, the pictures provide opportunities to talk about shapes and places around the city.
