"Montana, 1887 was a big state, and the Broken T was one of its biggest spreads, sprawling over three counties--a good piece of Custer county, thirty-five sections of Power River County and a middling chunk of Rosebud County."

I don't usually read westerns, but so found this book at a small library in North Central Florida and I was intrigued by the fact that the main character was black. A black cowboy. Never came across one before.

This was another new-to- me author, and I will look for more of his works.

While the previous book dealt with biracial Indians in the old west this book dealt with blacks in the cowboy era. It was a pleasant and interesting read.
