boring in some parts but extremely necessary. I found the chapter on publishing history particularly enlightening. Contextualizes and provides insight into how literary studies is taught and how aesthetics is perceived today, fleshing out the cultural and historical contexts that many pioneering modernist writers and critics were operating within
