Atlas of Topographical and Applied Human Anatomy in Two Volumes

Rate this book
The appearance of Pernkopf's work as a two volume atlas of human anatomy makes available these unique pictures in a more concise format that will facilitate widespread use of this work, which is valuable not only anatomists but also to practitioners in other fields of medicine, particularly surgery. In regards to the legends for the plates the author has taken great care to be brief and precise. Preparatory work done to gain access to deeper regions (e.g. the cutting of muscles, reflection of parts, disarticulations, and separation of muscles and blood vessels by means of retractors) has not been explained in the legends when the steps in the preparation were self-evident. The plates as a rule are organized according to regions and are arranged in order from the superficial to the deep layers.
