Roger Elwood was an American science fiction writer and editor, perhaps best known for having edited a large number of anthologies and collections for a variety of publishers in the early 1970s. Elwood was also the founding editor of Laser Books and, in more recent years, worked in the evangelical Christian market.
I was surprised to learn this was not the initial work of a novice author, and that he had not just a few but many more novels and stories published. The writing style is novice-like particularly where characters are conversing as opposed to general narrative and the author seemed to have difficulty staying on the story line. It was, however, a super-short book and I went on to the second book out of curiosity regarding what was supposed to be the main plot and to see if some of the meandering trails might be tied in later on. I do enjoy Christian fiction that is not 'preachy' - this was mostly accomplished except a few borderline areas. Onward...
