I really liked this book. Eve knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. She also was able to keep calm while someone was trying to kill her and Grayson. Grayson wasn't at all willing to give Eve what she wanted, but couldn't resist her either. He also wanted to make sure she was safe. The mystery itself was interesting -- the culprit could have been any one of the suspects. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
Definitely liked the book, donno why but Eve annoyed me at the beginning, and the end could’ve been better. The plot was great and I liked the fact that it was kind of a murder mysteryish thing.
There are no words to explain how much I disliked this book. THE BOOK WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE 5 PAGES IF SHE HAD JUST ADOPTED A CHILD. Like what’s so bad about adopting a kid? UGH Also I didn’t like ANY of the characters so.
Grayson can't believe it when his old-time sweetheart, Eve, shows up at his home and tells him a secret he does NOT want to know--she is having fertility problems, and if she doesn't get pregnant within twenty-four hours, she won't be able to have a baby for the rest of her life.
Grayson has no intention of having sex with Eve. But when she guilt-traps him into it, he does...and then finds out that Eve's life is in danger. As much as he wants to stay away from the woman who might be carrying his baby, he can't help but let his protective instincts kick in. He doesn't want a baby because of the awful childhood he endured with his father, but...what can a man do when a damsel in distress shows up on your doorstep? Especially a damsel who has two sources--she needs a baby now, and she needs to escape her killer too...
This was a so-so book. I didn't really fall for any of the characters and couldn't relate to them. While the plot was decently outlined and could have had a lot of potential, I felt it just fell flat in this book. However, Grayson gets three stars because of the heart-pumping suspense.
There's not much else I can say about this book...it was suspenseful, and yet, the romance wasn't too awesome. If you want to kill some time, here's the perfect book for you. Just don't expect anything more than some excellent suspense.
This is the 6th book I read by Delores Fossen. This book's story line was okay. I liked the action in this story. I liked the hot & steamy scenes. I liked Eve's character. I liked Grayson's character. I liked the ending.
A dead, unidentified female body is found in Silver Creek, Texas, and someone is trying to kill Eve Warren. Are the two events related? Eve returns to Silver Creek ,Texas to ask her ex for a favor. Due to the onset of early menapause, she asks Grayson Ryland to help get her pregnant, no strings attached. Eve is a photographer who apparently took a photo that needed to be destroyed, along with Eve. Grayson Ryland just happens to be the Sheriff of Silver Creek. Grayson turns down Eve's request to make her pregnant. As they are leaving, someone blows up the cottage they were just in and also cut the brake lines on her car. Thus begins the many attempts on Eve's life. Can Grayson and Eve find out who is trying to kill her and why as well as find out who the dead girl is? Will Grayson overcome his father leaving him and his brothers at a young age to find love and a family in Eve? Ms Fossen does an excellent job of keeping you guessing throughout this story. Eve helped Grayson with his brothers after their father left. Unfortunately, Grayson didn't want a wife or children because he had to raise his brothers at a young age. Throughout the story, Grayson feels responsible for keeping Eve safe. The longer he spends time with her, helps him realize that his feelings for Eve, never went away. Grayson's brothers play a role in this story as well, they are all in some form of law enforcement and help to solve the crime. I really enjoyed this story and will continue to read the other books in this series. I recommend this book.
This is the first book in a series about six brothers who all live on a ranch in Silver Creek and work in various types of law enforcement
Grayson is the oldest of them, effectively bought them up after their father took off for whereabouts unknown and their mother commited suicide shortly afterwards. Due to this Grayson has decided never to marry or have children. Eve is his childhood sweetheart who after giving him a commitment ultimatum leaves Silver Creek and Grayson behind.
The action takes place 16 years later when Eve comes back to ask Grayson to help her with a problem she has only to find that she has become the target of a killer. Grayson has who has become the town sheriff takes exception to this and vows to protect her while at the same time hunting down the murderer. In the course of the investigation Eve and Grayson are thrown together and those pesky feelings they used to have for each other start making them selves known again.
I liked this book, yes you have to suspend your disbelief occassionly, but then Harlequin/Mills+Boon have never pretend to be completely realistic. I will definately continue reading the series.
In Fossen's romantic suspense novel, Sheriff Grayson Ryland wasn't a man easily shocked that is, until his old flame, Eve Warren, returns to Silver Creek for the sole purpose of asking him to impregnate her. Before he can reject the alluring, hardheaded woman, he finds himself protecting her after an attempt on her life thrusts them both into a dangerous murder investigation. In the heat of the moment, Grayson is ready to forgive Eve for issuing an ultimatum years ago that sent them on separate paths, but he isn't certain he can give her the one thing she wants more than life itself. The Lawmen of Silver Creek Ranch is an action packed, stud filled new series. I can't wait for the next installment.
Delores Fossen's 'Grayson', The Lawmen of Silver Creek Ranch series, is power packing from page one when Grayson's past love, Eve, comes back into his life. It's hard enough seeing the woman who broke his heart and walked out of his life, she's back and his heart has not forgotten. She asks for his help to impregnate her before she loses the chance to have a baby forever. He can't forget his own upbringing and refuses, but sometimes life has a way of showing Eve & Grayson what is really important and matters are taken out of their hands when someone tries to kill Eve. Grayson will do whatever it takes to keep Eve safe and his heart learns second chances are rare.
I really enjoyed this book. I was intrigued with the way Eve went after Grayson to get what she wanted and then had to except his protection after she was threatened. A love story that is more about the real ups and downs that can go with love for a decade. The killer at the end was a big surprise to me and was afraid it wasn't going to end well. Was excited when it did and glad Grayson finally came to his senses. Have read Nate's story before this one but would love to read the other two brother's stories.
Wow what a mess. Grayson's ex has come back to town with one thing on her mind--getting pregnant. She has been told that she is premenopausal and might never be able to have children unless she tries now. Eve not only comes back asking Grayson for this huge favor she has brought danger with her. She unwittingly photographed a murder victim and her murderer. The murderer has decided that Eve and anyone involved with her needs to die. What will happen to Eve and Grayson? You will have to read the book to find out.
Eva was a strong woman requested an independent self-consciousness, her interaction with Grayson was full of sparks. I have great admiration for her determination to be a mother no matter how much her life was at stake.
Okay it was action-packed from the start of this book. Which I really like in books if they're supposed to be some action I don't want it to take forever to get there. Which this was not a dull moment of this book and it had you guessing who could have done it from a list of suspects. I kind of was off on who did it which is a good thing sometimes cuz I don't always like to be right. And I definitely was not right on who did it.
Grayson and Eve are running trying to stay ahead of everyone who's trying to kill her and before the end of the book He's also trying to kill him and his brother as well because they have seen the killer. so they don't actually know who it is the person just wants them dead so that they can frame someone else for the murder.
the only reason I gave this book of four star instead of a five star is because of Eve leaving the way she did near the end of the book. Thankfully Grayson went after her after some time I passed but seriously the way she just left it was just horrible. Thankfully she did not lose the baby in the end but I also was not happy about how she went about telling Grace and that he had to get her pregnant. Or the way that they did it the first time that was so not romantic even if that's what she did not want. Seriously in the woods not far away from a dead body against a tree so not cool.
However the restless book was awesome and I have waited since 2014 I believe to read this and it was worth the wait I actually wish I had done read it. Now I can't wait to read the other five books in the series about the other brothers especially the one that faked his death. That one's definitely going to be interesting.
Eve Warren's body is telling her to get pregnant now or forgo the opportunity. The only man she wants to father the baby she craves is Grayson Ryland, now the sheriff of Silver Creek, but after having to raise his five brothers after the death of their mother and disappearance of their father, he has no intention of being a dad of his own children.
To make matters worse, someone is trying to kill Eve. She doesn't know why, but maybe Grayson and his brothers can help figure things out and keep her safe--so that she can move forward with her plan to become pregnant before that's no longer possible.
Trouble is, she first has to convince Grayson to get on board with her plan. Will he change his mind about her?
Grayson and Eve's story took my breath away from the very beginning. They pulled me right in within the very first conversation. The chemistry between them was wonderful. This story was so captivating and addicting with every twist and turn. I couldn't put it down. I loved the suspense of the journey to find out who killed Nina and who was trying to kill Eve. You never know that something as innocent as pictures can put you in so much danger. The shocking events that take place through out this book were a great introduction to the Lawman of Silver Creek Ranch series. I can not wait to get the entire series and read them.
Second chance romance with some twists! This takes place over Christmas, but Christmas isn't really a thing. There are no holiday parties, or things like that. Eve is in pre-menopause in her early 30's, and this is her last chance to have a baby. She goes back home to ask her former boyfriend to get her pregnant as he is the only person she trusts. While she is talking to Grayson and her grandmother's cabin, someone tries to kill her. Grayson and Eve have to try to figure out what's going on as well as come to terms with her "only hours to get pregnant" during this chaos fiasco.
It was fast paced as so much is happening. Quite the roller coaster ride of a book.
3.5 stars. Read the book instead of listening to this audiobook. This is the first of Apple’s ‘digital narrator’ books I’ve listened to. Although the voice wasn’t unpleasant, VERY unfortunately, the ‘voice’ lacked so much in being able to give the correct phrasing, variations in timbre, volume and inflection, that it is like listening to a monotone reading in many ways. I understand the premise that Apple could produce many more audiobooks due to lower costs, they have not reached a point that makes their production worth listening to. That said, this was quite a different premise for a story. One really has to work at suspending their disbelief to buy into the storyline.
Talk about nepotism. The sheriff appears to have deputized all his brothers along with the rest of his clan. Having an old flame show up and ask you to have sex with her is just a mite off the wall. When her cottage blows up just after they’ve walked out of it and the lead starts flying matters get a bit out of hand. Several shootouts follow before we get to the love-making and the inevitable HEA. The plot seems a bit over contrived.
This series to me bring you to the tissue box. Grayson book 1 in ( THE LAWMAN OF SILVER CREEK ) by: Delores Fossen will have you wanting to find a tree a beat it senseless. It has lost love, reporter, sexy Sheriff and brothers and a future baby along with a trail of happenings that happened in the past when these boys were boys them selves.
This story really grabbed me. I couldn't put the book down. Eve broke Grayson's heart years ago. She came back to ask a favor, but a hitman has put a twist in that. Several attempts on their lives. Goodness. I was a little shocked to find out who is behind everything.
I enjoyed reading this story about Grayson and Eve. I was drawn in from the beginning to find out what is happening and how they deal with it and love the ending! Look forward to reading book 2 Dade.
Eve didn’t know who she made angry, enough to want to kill her. She only went to see Grayson because she wanted him to help her have a baby. Her biological clock was ticking.
