Mostly, my tales will tilt towards the erotic horror, the story twisting somewhere dark in the final chapters. Though, I will admit to the romantic. Occasionally I go there and put forth something with more substance and emotion.

I read this years ago and thought it was sick and disturbing. I couldn't believe a guy would write something so depraved. It was pushing my limits and what really upset me was how aroused I became when I read this story. This was before I joined a BDSM group in real life so most of my experience was through non-fiction books and experimentation.
This story was way beyond anything I had read. This wasn't the first book by this Mr. Dean I read either. It was a dirty secret which I kept telling myself I wouldn't read again. Yet every time a new chapter appeared, I quickly clicked to read it. I figured something must be really wrong with me and that I was going to hell.
Fast forward about 7 years later. I'm now friends with the author and his books are in my list of spank bank. How far I've come. Mr. Dean is the one who turned me on to body modification fantasies. For this, I thank him. (I think)

4.5 stars = a gazillion "wtf's!?! O.O"
what do i think? hmmm. good question.
i think, therefore i am... or am i? this story proves otherwise.
a gentle meandering into the story had me questioning what previous reviews had listed as being so terribly twisted in its outcome. were the others so appalled at some of the BDSM elements practiced in the story of James and Debbie? of course there were some extremes, but nothing so repulsive to have warranted such revile as the reviews suggested.
and then... like falling through the rabbit hole of depravity that i now realize is H. Dean's mind...i started to suspect where i was being led. and just as Debbie willingly(?) followed her heart, i followed the path, the slippery slope, to the end of this TRULY, TRULY fucked up story. i felt the need to fight it, but relented and just went with it, knowing resistance was as futile as fighting your own nightmares.
i would recommend this story to anyone willing to have their limits pushed far beyond comfort... and would strongly caution against it if you're looking for the sentimental love story (of the very kinky variety) i imagined it may be in the opening chapters.

Yeow! OMG! Holy Cow! I read this short novel straight-through in one night - I couldn't put it down - no way! I don’t think I even moved for the 2 ½ hours of BDSM excitement this book provides. I probably read it twice as I had to reread many passages to believe the author had actually said what I thought I read.
This book is NOT for the faint of heart. But if you’re into extreme, inventive BDSM – like I am - this is an incredible treat. You will get turned on over and over again, and I’ll bet you’ll pick up ideas you never thought about before.
The story is light on plot, but it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than an erotic exposé. That said, there is a recognizable purpose that moves the story along – eventually even beyond the control of the main characters. The creative SM scenes are the best, and will blow you away. I’d never thought of some of the ideas the author came up with. The result was titillation on every page – sometimes from the more common BD stuff, often from the off-the-wall, crazy SM the author creates.
If you want an erotic, thrilling, ingenious, innovative BDSM tale – this will fit anyone’s bill nicely.

Wow! This story had a lot of content that both appealed to and aroused me. Not sure that it should have, so I feel a little conflicted about that, lol.
The over use of a certain word threw me out of the story a few times, and I'm PRESENTLY (<- yeah that word) still trying to digest what I just read.
This kind of find, is why I like to take part in challenges that force me to read outside of the norm. Theypush widen my 'hard limits'.

Right to start off with is THIS BOOK IS FUCKED UP IN THE BEST WAY!
I've had some time to think about this one and I have come to the conclusion that this book is freaking AwEsOmE!!!
H. Dean has done a fantastic job of making you get invested into a dramatic and seriously twisted mind game of a book...
I don't know how I feel because this one, there were times that I wanted to quit, at about 38% of the book I was feeling like 'yeah okay their into BDSM blah blah blah' but I kept reading hoping that it would pick up and start getting me into the ZONE, and it did because there were a few time that I had to adjust how I was sitting *cough cough* not like the humiliation was making me get all hot and needy *wink* but then It kinda died down a bit and it was a good thing 'I think'
Then at about 58% give or take some I was like maybe it will pick up but so far nothing is shocking me!!! and so close to DNF but thanks to another deprived mind like myself *giggles hiya Ming* she said to keep reading and to be honest I was humming yes and no but I'm so freaking glad that I carried on!!
My god did it turn into one humiliating fuck fest, full of over the top body modification and fucked up mind games that had me re-reading a few parts over and over just to make absolute sureness that 'yes in-deed I did read right and she now has a 19inch waist and yes some ribs were taken out!!!!!!'

The Object of My Affection will make you say, huh? The story is of two friends who travail through the throngs of life vested in different relationships that finally get together through circumstance of a fledgling relationship of the female. Both parties have an interest in the other, but for many years don’t pursue it because the woman is spooked by the male’s proclivities. This is James and Debra’s story.
Debra has a submissive nature and she knows that James is a dominant and so she seeks relational advice about a boyfriend that wants to bind her. James gives her the advice, not quite how she wants to hear it, but Debra knew that James has always been honest with her. To help her alleviate her worry she asks James to come over and show her what she could expect. James comes with binding collars for her wrists and ankles. He shows her what to expect and show her he did! ☺ Deb breaks up with her current boyfriend and starts a relationship with James and together he helps show Deb who she truly is and what she likes and craves.
At first, I was thinking, this book is really good! I could appreciate James’ mind manipulation and when he was able to get Deb to cum on command I was thinking, “Ding, ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!” ☺ The mind f*ckery was fantastic and couldn’t wait to see what else to expect from their evolving relationship. There were a few more scenes and then about 2/3rds into the book, I started to question some things and then things took a turn into the Twilight Zone. By the end of the story I was thinking, “What happened? That’s it?" I couldn’t believe it and finished the story feeling bereft and kind of cheated. I stewed on my feelings a little bit and I still don’t know how to classify this story. I think it was because I went into this story with one expectation and came out with another. The point is though; I would definitely classify this as a consensual relationship gone wrong. Buyers beware should be stamped all over this book unless of course you liked the Twilight Zone and have absolutely no expectations of how things should flow in your stories. Just sayin…

As far a reviews go, I will make this simple then delve into my RANT for those who know me... The Object of His Affection is a mind fuck of EPIC proportions. I am not going to go into why, because I feel that it will ruin the book, and I would just hate cheat you of the opportunity of being scared like me! Honestly I have no clue what else to say. I am stunned!! This book is insanely freakin, panty melting HOT with an ending that will leave your mouth in a perfect O, until you quickly close it because that image just fucks with your head!!!

I Will Never Forget This Book! Now I Need My Vodka!
I love a dark twisted disturbing story. But I didn't expect how disturbing this story would turn out and how much I ended up loving/hating it. I've read some really disturbing books and they never bothered me but I can honestly say, this one really shocked the fuck out of me! Total mind-fuck!

Characters, James and Debbie have a relationship, of sorts, and James is very good at psychological conditioning with Debbie, it begins with coercion as part of his control...be warned, you don't want a partner like this.
Get's to the state where James has Debbie so conditioned as in the style of Pavlov's dogs but highly exaggerated as He says 'cum' and she gets her orgasm, no touch. Now, orgasms can take place without touch, take dreamt ones, or when it happens occasionally if reading a highly erotic story, but to be at the point of say the word and body responds, time after time after time. Wow, maybe it could happen, but I doubt it.
So this eventually goes to James wanting his ideal, and in comes body modification, begins with breast enhancement, I wonder how many ladies have had one at the behest of their partner...then time you read this for sure and see where extremes and a medical practitioner related to Victor Frankenstien can take you and hey presto your into the horror aspects big time.
Okay, this is an indie writer, Mr H. Dean who has great imagination, horror film for sure here, but he needs an editor, sorry H, quite a few typos need ironing out...but then he gives us his imagination and hard work recording it for free. So 4 stars from me. Edited would be 5.

Wow, not my cup of tea. I gave it a chance, and will not ever try that one again...lol
I am still new to the whole 'total submission' aspect books. I tried something new in readin this, and found it to be so unreasonable and out there, that it just didn't seem worth the time.
Then there is the squeamish factor. The fact that this woman was being made into somethg so plastic was nauseating, especially since it was described as if nothing important had happened. It tried to downplay the body modifications in a simple way, and that got really annoying quickly.
Overall, there were very few typos, and it did read fast, so that worked for it. But imho, that was all it had working for it.

This isn't a normal book I would read. This story, pushed my boundaries, when it comes to reading things out of my comfort zone. I really enjoyed the story, but when it was coming to an end, it just got a little weird for me and I was left feeling, "what did I just read?"
There were certain aspects of the story that I shouldn't of liked or shouldn't of been aroused, but I liked those parts and was aroused. There were certain things I laughed out loud at and I cringed.
I would of rated it more, but I just couldn't wrap my head around what happened at the end. Would I read another book from this author, maybe.

This is a story of a girl and her guy, a Dom and sub, who are first friends, lovers, Dom/sub then moving into Master/slave, and finally Owner/doll.
I loved the progression, and I really enjoyed the story. Its thought provoking in some ways, as far as how far could you, would you, and should you go in indulging your fetishes. I'm a no limits sort of girl, so I'm with Debbie, but she doesn't end up so well.
The sex is pretty hot, especially if you are into humiliation as a kink. Objectification, obviously, is right in the title.
I liked the characters. Debbie starts out as an independent minded submissive, who is fighting her nature, as so many subs in so many BDSM books are. I have no idea if this is the case for a lot of submissives in the real world. I don't identify as a submissive, and I never fought my nature, so it seems stressful if true. She gradually lets her nature overtake her, and becomes more and more obedient and submissive, and James becomes more and more dominant and controlling as we go.
I liked James. Some might not, I guess, based on poor Debbie's conclusion, but I think it was Jerry that really caused the bad stuff. James takes his time gaining Debbie's trust, and genuinely seemed to like her and enjoy her, even in the end.
The only thing keeping it from being a 5 star is the end. I just wish Debbie didn't miss out on her HEA. I think she could have been turned into a doll and still had her HEA, but obviously, thats part of the mind-fuck of the novella, still, I was saddened by it!

I don't know what to think and I don't know how I would rate this book either. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. Maybe the safe bet is to take the middle ground and call it a 3 star. I do know that parts of it were slightly hard to follow due to grammatical errors. They were easily figured out, but it didn't help with the flow of the book as I had to stop and reread a sentence or two throughout the book. Other than that, I have no other words for this book at the moment.

In the author's bio (on Goodreads) he says he doesn't write erotic fiction, he writes erotic horror. I found that to be the case here. Actually, now that I write that, I can see one of those "Tales from the Crypt" style morals being tacked on the end.
A powerful story and a wild ride if your kinks happen to line up, specifically body modification and dollification. I'd put this in the same category as J.G. Leathers, although this - in my opinion - ends at a better point, not stretching the story out a bit too long.
The story starts with con, moves into dub-con, and ends with non-con. And it's clearly of the over-the-top speculative fiction variety.
A powerful story and a wild ride if your kinks happen to line up, specifically body modification and dollification. I'd put this in the same category as J.G. Leathers, although this - in my opinion - ends at a better point, not stretching the story out a bit too long.
The story starts with con, moves into dub-con, and ends with non-con. And it's clearly of the over-the-top speculative fiction variety.

I'm not really sure how to rate this. I'd give it a 3.5 stars.
Creativity wise it was great. The transformation was slow and the mind molding was gradual and near complete.
The sex scenes were hot, and the horror element gave it an edge.
The lack of complete feeling from James's pov at the end was disappointing. I wanted to know how he truly felt about how things turned out.
This had a fantasy/science-fiction feel, but it wasn't overt enough to place it in either genres.
I will definitely remember this story.

This is certainly not for the faint of heart! It is a true mindfuck!
It was sick and disturbing and I couldn't put it down. I can't say very much about specifics without giving too much away but the manipulation and body modification was EXTREME.

For me it was only attempt to shock. It wasn´t quite what I hoped for when I searched for "objectification theme" book. Well, be careful what you wish for.
First half boring - the sex scenes didn´t work for me, for me is huge difference between domination and manipulation, and here wasn´t domination any, no bdsm, only humiliation - I can appreciate it, but not its only.
And orgasm when she is preparing meal, only because he came into the kitchen and said "cum for me"? Really? It would be fun to see someday.
And thousand times - I don´t want to. - Do I have to? - Ok... I wanted to put it down many times.
With start of body modifications it ceased to be boring and started to be just ugly - for me only about psychology of somebody as Debbie, but there wasn´t any deepest though then "I want to be what he wants" from the start to ugly end.
More then about book, I will probably think about its readers.

I just read this book. I am very disturbed by the events that have taken place in the last chapters. I am a fan of dark erotica and even taboo reads, but this is maybe the only book that I can not relate to, I actually feel bad after having finished but I just could not put the book down, I had to know what happened next.
This is erotica, but the last chapters felt more like rape mixed with scifi. This was beyond humilitation any undisturbed human being can take and I dont think that the heroine took it very willingly in the end. She was satisfied and cooperated nicely till that one breaking point.
I would definitely not recommend this book to anyone. Despite the fact that the beginning describes very powerful and intense relationship that I can ralate to, the end really took any enjoyment out from me.

I have found this a very difficult read. They are both so much in love, then it all goes to hell and back without Debbie even realising it. I'm sure James just goes completely insane just from the power!. It's so scary how James manipulates Debbie's thoughts and actions. We are viewers into a horror. I found myself wanting to shout at the book, to say to her, can you not see what he is doing to you.
The pleasure of constant organisms!, the fact he can control her by just telling her to "cum" ...what the hell. This was more than pavlovas dog!
Strangely I enjoyed the story, but more in a horror sense than an erotic sense. It was fascinating how two individuals can change, him from having the control/ power, and her just being so willing to please and forgetting who she really is.

No. Just no. This was the most horrifying book I think I've ever read. I live dark erotic novels but this was beyond that. And it didn't make sense in some ways. If he supposedly enjoyed humiliating and dominating her, why would he enjoy completely removing her ability to feel physically and her mind by the constant torture that came from her being trapped in her own body. The end was the worst. "Sometimes I worry about her mental state" gee ya fucking think?? Bottom line is this was the story of a weak and selfish man who used psychological torture to brain wash a woman he claimed to like until there was nothing left of her. I sincerely wish I could unread this monstrosity.

It's well written, but just not my cuppa. I think I wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't been reading for a challenge. The objectification is taken so far it made me feel sick (literally).
I couldn't quite understand the MC because he was questioning his actions at first (rightfully so) and then just forgot about it.
So be warned. HEAVY on objectification and bodymod. Not for the faint of heart and if you've only been reading erotic romance with hints of BDSM...might I suggest you start with something easier first ;)

This one is disturbing, and not in a good shiver kind of way, but more along the lines of a really good horror movie where the character have a reason to go into that dark basement by themselves, with the lights out and a storm raging outside.
